  1. well you just bumped it! go yell at your own damn self.
  2. HOPEFULLY he's going to question why his dad is such a dick and not think to himself how awesome his dad was for being a warrior in their cause.
  3. "He sounded surprised by all the controversy the dispute had generated." my nominations: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081216/ap_on_...ggbeater_threat and http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081216/ap_on_...ter_molestation
  4. but it doesn't count because you also said something negative about the DX, so no matter how times you've criticized yamato or their products, the one time you're not onboard the bandai fanboy express makes you a devoted yamatophile. For life.
  5. lets be fair, when yamato deviates in the slightest from the anime they get burned. Lets not forget the huge poo storm that went on about the CF vf-0 color was changed from the anime to the grey it is now. No one said, "that's neat" except maybe Graham () And even when we got word that it was Kawamori himself that made the changes, most of us told him to frak off and release the color we saw. similar attention was paid to the base color on the sv-51 nora and then when some photos came out much gnashing of teeth on the gold used for the markings. There are comparisons made between the line drawing and blurry partial undated CAD shots, and sometimes comparisons made against altered images from fan sites that we think look better. Does yamato get the benefit of the doubt, yes... but it's hardly the shits and giggles you're making it out to be. ... so "sh!t" gets turned into "poo" but "shits" is okay?
  6. but an ad hominem argument is just what you did right now. Face it, at one point or another, everyone is going to be that guy that they themselves can't stand. Anyways, I can't wait for the reviews as well. As much as I have problems with the over all design, there are specific aspects and details of the DX that look really good.
  7. graham should be bandai-graham! It seems yamato dumped him, graham can rebound with bandai!
  8. yeah, they couldn't call it an "alien" movie.. but isn't ripley herself an alien now? Anyways, I was just saying I find the character interesting and I wouldn't mind a movie just about her... that it's not necessarily a bad idea. And I agree... a proper send off to the series would be nice. maybe it could start with ripley coming out of cryo and realizing everything after she killed the queen and saved newt was a horrible horrible dream...
  9. my guess is with the success of twilight the studios are looking for properties they can get on the cheap to cash in.
  10. isn't it more fun to bitch about people who bitch about people who bitch about toys? anyways, I'm still hoping the legs stow properly in fighter mode... as long as one mode looks good (and I don't care about the landing gears) then I'll fork over my money for a VF-25G
  11. I actually can respect an opinion far more than " well I saw a youtube video of how toys are made so now I know everything there is to know about chemistry, engineering, marketing and retailing!" and of course, "you dare to criticize my opinion, why that's the same thing as insulting me on a personal level"
  12. that isn't just MW though, the whole western world is like this, where opinion and expertise have come to mean the same thing.
  13. yup, some DVDs are just so bad they'll make your state of the art TV look like an old HPA screen from 1998. It just doesn't matter how well calibrated your set is, if the source material is crap there's only so much tinkering you can do.
  14. I did my part, I bought a copy of valkyria chronicles. I'm still slogging my way through tales of vesperia so I haven't given it a go yet but the thought of it makes the already tedious Vesperia seem even more like a chore.
  15. goddamn, you should be getting paid for this, this is awesome work.
  16. true.. true...
  17. yeah, i read that jaffe said the current build is 25-30% better... whileI don't doubt it looks better, but where did he get 25-30% and if you're going to make up a percentage, why make up a range? lol. Uncharted 2 does look amazing, I loved the way the musculature in the neck moved realistically with the head and body movement. while I know that sort of detail won't be noticed during gameplay, it just makes me warm and tingly inside knowing the animators are putting that much thought into the physics.
  18. well, in dark knight Bruce dismisses the Joker initially so he could focus on the mob, so joker probably started doing small jobs, the odd murder and worked his way up to the point where he could pull off the big bank job at the beginning of the movie. It seemed like the crew he got together for the bank heist were pretty talented and well funded, it has to take time to develop enough credibility to get people like that to work for you <- I assume, I've never robbed a bank before so maybe there's like a job placement center for out of work bank robbers.
  19. lets see, a 20 some odd year license versus a brand new one... hmmm.. hmmm... And I'm sure you know enough people to form an accurate survey. And the VF-0 has far more parts, more metal, more paint, more tampo printing, which equals = more money, more money, more money and more money. the GBP is a 100$ add-on, that's hardly minuscule and it comes in 3 variants and it has been reissued at least one time. The stand alone ghost comes in 2 variants costs 50$ and has not been reissued. if you think that an add-on that costs 75% of the original item is minuscule... yes, and I'm sure the money people paid for the made-up variants are made up as well. Lets take a quick poll and see how many people here paid 300 dollars for their made-up low viz variant, show of hands? In summary, like your statement about yamato plastic being too dense to recycle, like your statement about H2O2 being a base, like your oh so witty personal attacks, your statements here are come directly out of your ass.
  20. well yeah, but if go and find the 1st edition criterion Armageddon DVD, it's a pixelated mess, that's what I mean by poor encoding. There's other DVDs that received shoddy transfers, most are 1st gen DVDs but some like Armageddon try to cram too much on one disc and quality really suffers as a result.
  21. yup and not all DVDs are equal, some have horrible encoding that doesn't look bad on an SD tv but no amount of upscaling will make it look good on a big HD set.
  22. "too dense to recycle" is not the same thing as difficult to recycle and there are plenty of business out there who specialize in it and in fact lego recycles their ABS plastic as part of their routine business. AT&T also recycled their old phones. There are many unknowns in your example. 1. the licensing fees, are they less or more? 2. the market demand, do people want a VF-0? as much as the vf-1? 3. RoI, even if the cost of developing and manufacturing the VF-1 and the VF-0 were exactly the same (this is impossible but whatever) the money spent developing the VF-1 has a FAR GREATER RoI, why? There are far more variants of the VF-1 than there are on the VF-0 which also ties back into point 2. 4. add-ons, which goes back to point number 3. any one of those factors could be the reason for the increase in price.
  23. It's not a scam but unless you spend the money for a really good upconverting deck, you might not see much difference from what your own TV can do.
  24. both POM and ABS is readily recyclable. You should pay more attention in school. you certainly whine enough about it, maybe you should try to get something useful out of your experience there.
