There have been a lot of yamato antagonistic threads here and some very vocal anti-yamato posters but I have to say, if yamato's reaction to that is to pull communication with Graham as some sort of passive aggressive retaliation... well it shows a real lack of maturity and PR intelligence on Yamato's part.
my metal hinge replacement seems to be holding up and it's easy to do, so at this point, I'm disappointed with the flaw but I don't care enough to boycott since (to me at least) it's an easy fix if it does happen
the casualty reports for the 1s strike came in right away. Now that people know what to look for, I have a hard time believing that 1a, 1j and 1s hikaru owners aren't checking for cracks right out of the box.
the fact that we're not seeing a deluge of similar "it was broken right out of the box" complaints leads me to believe the problem has been addressed.
It was no Delgo (made only $511,920 opening weekend with an average per screen of only $237) but it performed pretty poorly and in the crowded holiday movie season, it faded pretty quickly and quietly.
yamato did fix the problem. People who own subsequent releases have said numerous times that they don't have problems. Should the problem have existed in the first place? obviously not, but replacements are available through 2 retailers. It's not the best solution but the issue seems to have been resolved and an 8 dollar fix available for owners who don't want to fix it themselves.
Jenius, that's really impressive! Many a chuckle and more than a few outright pangs of pain. lol
err, I don't think a thread about picture featuring a giant cat anally penetrating and then erupting out of an underage school girl's head can really be "perverted" by a picture of a guy in a loin cloth and bandoleers. But hey, thanks for the moral outrage. I'm glad someone is thinking of the children.
I can see how it seems like an incremental upgrade to the 1/72... but I don't have one (the big screws under the wing glove bothered me too much) so I'm happy to jump on board this one. Besides, I'm holding out hope for a full armor kit.
While I agree that at this point, complaining about a product that has been released probably doesn't matter... I'm going to fall back on the position of all the yamato complainers. Maybe Bandai reads these threads and sees that we're passionate about their toys and will do a better job next time.
Certainly the fact that there's already 100% mark ups on eBay should be proof to bandai that macross/toy fans are embracing their offering and maybe that will mean that they will be willing to invest more time and money into their next releases.
And even if we don't see improved vf-25s down the line, maybe we'll see more of an effort with their other macross products?
yes, we get it. We all suck and are too stupid to realize how awesome the DX and bandai are. You yourself cut yours apart less than a month after you got it to improve it. Why is it so awful for those of us not as model minded to expect Bandai to have thought of those rather simple improvements themselves? Just like we expect yamato to do some goddamn materials stress tests on their toys before selling them?
meh, your disdain for yamato aside, it's perfectly reasonable to think bandai could have worked those changes in for the sake of posability themselves.
And I don't think it's going to be 10 years before bandai makes a ver 2.0 of these guys, much much sooner.
