  1. yeah, it's pretty impressive shot. Vegas, you should invest in a nice graduated backdrop
  2. yes mr pot, we feel properly chastised.
  3. with so much that looks questionable to this movie, I too am confused how we settled on plasma weapons as the one thing to hang our coats on.
  4. if only yamato could make the cockpit without any detailing and mold the pilot in as a featureless purple blob.... ah, if only.
  5. How would sarah know either for that matter. It's a throw away line designed to tell the audience not to get hung up on continuity. And even without that line, every terminator sequel including the TV show has made it clear that the specific events in the future gets affected and changed by what happens in the past. There's just no need to get hung up on continuity when it comes to terminator because it's pretty clear they aren't bound to the "rules" of special relativity time travel.
  6. ooooh, D300... I wanted one but my wife and I settled on the D90 instead. She didn't want to have to learn how to use a camera or fiddle with the exposure settings. What sort of lens are you using? I notice that you're getting a pretty shallow depth of field in some shots so i'm assuming you're not shooting with a kit lens...
  7. No problem, good luck with the repairs.
  8. when I did it, I had it half transformed. Did you get the screw inside the wheel well? It shouldn't be glued but it might be a tight fit, I just wiggled it a little and the two halves popped apart.
  9. take it apart and then fix it. There's a couple of screws holding the fuselage together, one is under the hip pocket under the nose, you'll need to take the cover for it off to expose the screw that actually holds the nose together.
  10. damn it, my wife's company is downsizing. Now's kinda the worst time to say such things to me.
  11. hahaha, I love it. You start a thread about how we should give these topics a rest and instead we're all talking about them.
  12. awesome, instead of putting pressure on the companies (both the US firms that outsource to china and the chinese companies that actually make the crap) to stop poisoning us, lets put the pressure and onus on the end user. but then again, when china owns over 2 TRILLION dollars (in various forms) and is investing over a billion dollars a day, I guess it's best not to piss them off right?
  13. again... this is not the same future as seen in terminator and terminator 2 or terminator 3 or in the tv show.... it says so right in the beginning of the trailer. It's not laziness or whatever, it's just different. Even in terminator 2 and terminator 3 the characters talk about how the specifics regarding judgement day and the future war were changed. In the TV show, two characters outright speculate if they come from different timelines. when you change things in the past, it changes the future... it's kinda one of the basic plot points of the movies. You can't complain about them not sticking to continuity when the whole point of the movie is not sticking to continuity.
  14. Well I guess the good news is you're in talks with yamato again! sigh.
  15. There's plenty of reports from MW members who have flawless units and we've had, what, one report of a 1a hikaru with the problem and no reports on the 1j or the 1s hikaru strike. But whatever man, it's your call. I'm enjoying mine and I have 1j on the way I've pre-ordered the 1d as well.
  16. yes, how dare they charge money for these things? Why, several of the episodes have subpar animation and weak scripts. For those prices we shouldn't have to put up with their B game. We all know Bandai is capable of producing AAA products and it's high time they paid that much attention to properties other than Gundam.
  17. but but, as a fan, I'm ENTITLED to be entertained! I should be able to have everything I want and the people making the show, toys, etc should work for free for my entertainment! It's all about mmmmeeeeEEEEEEeeeeee!!!
  18. no, I basically cut out a small piece of metal and replace the hinge. The hinge pin is now supported by metal... as it should have been from the start
  19. I guess. this problem only seems to be happening to some vf-1s strike (roy) and there was one report here of it happening to the 1a hikaru but so far the 1j and 1s hikaru have had clean reports. Scream Man at least has 4 units with no breakages or cracks reported. my fix is pretty easy to do and has held up well to repeated transformations and poses: And over-drive is offering replacement parts and a replacement shoulder can be had for as little as 8 USD and that price includes shipping (SAL). The toy is a HUGE improvement over the original 1/60, personally there's no comparison.
  20. yes, either the pin is just too big for the hinge or the bur at the end of the hinge pin is too pronounced and the mere act of inserting the pin into the hinge can cause a stress mark, crack or outright breakage. There were more than one report of owners finding the hinge damaged right out of the box, if I remember correctly. I think one unfortunate soul even had a brand new *replacement* shoulder arrive damaged. This crack is made worse through the act of transformation as the hinge is stressed as it is pulled up and over the retaining tab on the body itself. Once the hinge cracks, it tends to protrude a bit and this bump can easily get caught on that tab. So either the hinge will fail because it's being pulled on too much and the stress is now being distributed solely to the one good side of the retaining arc or it will get caught on the tab and just shear off. Unfortunately, this multi-dimensional (super dimensional lol) stress means that simply gluing or epoxing the hinge back together doesn't really offer much long term success. So either replacing (with hopefully a new and trouble free hinge from over-drive) or modifying the hinge all together (like my metal replacement) are really the best solutions.
  21. watch either mac II or mac 7 BEFORE you watch gunbuster... Gunbuster is so awesome it will make the already weak mac II/7 seem that much weaker in comparison. I'm only kinda kidding. actually, i'm pretty serious.
  22. I'm all for repaints as well. But I also want to see the full armor for this guy... I wouldn't mind seeing all the mac + designs in the same paint scheme or style... like all three in stealth or something.
  23. Any news or rumors on what's holding up Finding Nemo for blu-ray? Finding Nemo and Incredibles are the two Pixar movies I would really want on blu-ray.
