Well, like I was saying, I think mistryno has become a proxy for the bigger discussion on the culture of macross world. There's some people who have been pushing for more open threads, others who have been criticizing the moderation (for both more and less) and MisteRyno managed to capture that zeitgeist.

There was a hate bandwagon, it was in the first version of this discussion. Thankfully, those people don't seem interested this time around. We're using misteryno to talk about the rules, the culture and the moderation philosophy and implementation on this site. I think everyone here is able to separate the infraction from the person. Most of us here all agree that the we appreciated MisteRyno's enthusiasm and his obvious passion. His involvement in the post a pose thread infused it with some much needed life, for instance. But that's a separate matter from what's being discussed. As EXO has stated on numerous occasions, he wasn't banned because he was "spamming".

I'm waiting as well.. It was expected though as I asked them to add an item to my order.

People care because lots of us like it here, the way it is. Why shouldn't we care about a community we've been involved with for years? You're right, people shouldn't take things personally. So they shouldn't take it personally when they're being informed they're breaking the rules. Rules, which we as a community, agreed to when we signed up.

The idea of "ryno" hearings is pretty silly. As is the implied idea of members reporting suspected ryno sightings. Are you now, or have you ever been, a member of the Ryno Party? This is giving the guy far more credit and influence than he, or this situation, deserves.

Just to chime in on what MacrossJunkie wrote... My wife has worked in and built clean rooms... they use HEPA filters. Those ionic air purifiers suck. Oh, and ozone is bad for plastic.

There's a link to the original situation that got ryno banned in the first place on the first page. I'll quote EXO's summation here: It was made clear that it wasn't just the spamming that got him temp banned but also the multiple accounts he opened while he was a member for the express purpose of trolling. He was given warnings, a flashy title and then the temporary suspension and during that time out period he continued to open new accounts and continue posting, taunting mods, making an ass out of himself and those of us who DID come to his defense. I'm still gonna stick to what I wrote in that first thread that I didn't think Ryno's antics were worth the considerable attention paid to him. But HOW he chose to deal with the situation pretty much set up how it was all going to play out. By continuing to flaunt the mods and ramping up the antics he pretty much verified what some people and mods thought of him. And by continuing to open new accounts and resume his behavior instead of, as was suggested by VFTF1, approaching the mods in calm and conciliatory manner, he's pretty much shooting himself in the foot and proving right the chorus of people who were calling for his perma ban and again - it makes those of us who did support him look like fools and I'm not gonna speak for anyone else, but I'd think twice about supporting him if a debate for bringing him back did come up.

Pretty awesome news. I'm gonna have to pass as this is waaaay too many releases for me to keep up with but I'm glad for everyone who's been waiting for this paint scheme.

I actually really like that the 1j is a different shade. It should look impressive if some has a large group of CF 1a and there's just a smattering of CF 1j in there.

I like them as well and unlike HLJ they're willing to work with you to modify open orders, combine shipping, etc.

the only thing that looks off is the visor. There should be a bisecting line across the middle. Other than that, the only other differences are the canopy and belly plates which look to be accurately depicted.

I'm with you! Besides, I already have a 1/48 fodder 1a. I'm trying not to dupe. ... And yes, I know it's a tv 1a... but that's what my max tv 1a is for.
