  1. another pic inspired by ultimateone's photos
  2. Thanks, I don't think there's a straight equivalent but the gold band usually denotes "pro" and then full frame lenses don't have the "DX" badge. Notice all my lenses are "DX"
  3. no. Anime52k8 is right. Samaritans are the people of Samaria, who claim to be descendants of Joseph and practice a parallel branch of Judaism known as Samaritanism which followers claim is a more pure and unadulterated form of the Judaism.
  4. Thanks, that shot was inspired by your pics.
  5. Not nearly as impressive as all that L glass, but I felt I needed to post up represent for all us Nikon shooters.
  6. They all have enough talent but they'd need to do some serious training to go from their current "skinny-fat" look to the sort of lean strong muscle needed. And tera got that new sleave going on... blegh.
  7. she probably does... I just hope whoever they get has lots and lots of talent...
  8. wow, some impressive glass you got there. Looks like you're all ready to go full frame.
  9. true true. I really think that the moral issues and the ideas of free will versus determinism are what made Terminator 1 and 2 so good. The series ended with T2 imo, the last two movies are just elaborate fanfic.
  10. I've actually had experience in a foundry and melting and pouring molten metal, molten metal cools VERY rapidly as it's being poured. There's going to be a pretty bing temperature difference between a vat of molten steel being kept liquid and the same liquid, removed from the heat source, falling 15 ft and then being spread out.
  11. none of those things addressed in either interviews are "plot holes"
  12. if they redid the q-rau with detail and articulation seen in the destroids, I'd be happy to bite again.
  13. Well, I'm not arguing it was "good" but it's understandable they would drag marcus into the base. Pilot chick clearly states that he stepped on a mine, not that the mine attached itself to marcus. And at that point, nobody, even JC, believed that there were believable human looking terminators out there. The only humanoid terminator the resistance knew was out in the field was the 600 model and marcus clearly seemed human. I agree that all the napalm and radioi chatter seemed a bit careless. But the dialogue in the movie made it seem like Skynet and the resistance had carved out territories for themselves. There's frequent talk of "skynet has never operated this deep before", etc. And also, that napalm wasn't to keep marcus in, it was deployed to keep skynet out. So by the time they thought they would have to use it, I'm sure the resistance figured that the gig was up and there was no need to be sneaky anymore. The UI... meh, it's like aliens that speak english. I don't think it was these little things that resigned this movie to the "meh" aisle. There were some deep structural and thematic problems... problems that got carried over from T3 when it became abundantly clear that the producers of the franchise wanted to turn a smart character driven dialogue on free will versus determinism into a mindless and soulless action movie.
  14. yeah, IS is nice but good technique solve blurry pictures but it's harder to compensate for a slow lens.
  15. my d90 has video. I use it once in a while as we don't have a dedicated camcorder, but i wouldn't miss it if I didn't have it.
  16. meh, I don't care if they're limited or not, the repaints are just too uninspired to warrant me buying another yf-19 which has quickly become my 2nd least favorite yamato offering with the 1/100 konig monster still holding that honor.
  17. Saw it, thought it was okay. Better than the third movie but I thought the final act and especially the ending really sucked the life out of the movie.
  18. Just got my blu-rays through the WB red to blu program. Took about 2 weeks, impressed with how speedy they are!
  19. that was beyond awful. almost as awful as when MC Hammer tried to go hardcore.
  20. X-force is now wolverine's black ops team and has Warpath, X-23, Caliban, Hepzibah, Wolfsbane. They do the dirty work Scott doesn't want to get involved with or know the details of. edit: apparently, caliban got killed and Hep left, so current line up: Archangel, Domino, Elixir, Vanisher, Warpath, Wolfsbane, Wolverine, X-23
  21. [Comic fanboy hat on] but that image is from JLA: Thy Kingdom Come. [/comic fanboy hat]
  22. See, I didn't think they needed to. That sort of acting out is pretty easy to spot and just that line of the guy talking about his mom being offworld and being more concerned with his car was enough for me to understand where kirk was coming from. They did show the "engine room" in the final shot when the cores are ejected and it was different from the parts of engineering kirk and scotty were running around in. It makes sense that a ship that services a thousand people would have a pretty crazy system of pipes, containers and what not. Water needs to be stored, treated, piped, heated, cooled, etc. I understand that food replicators and creative uses of transporter tech takes care of all food and hygiene needs but machinery still needs to be cooled, filtered, heated, etc. Glowy pulsey tubes and underlit etched polycarbonate panels seem far less realistic to me than a maze of pipes.
