  1. I think by now people should know what they're going to get with Oshii. If you think his movies are thoughtful and philosophically interesting then you'll enjoy sky crawlers. If you think his movies are boring and little more than his intellectual masturbation translated into film, then you won't like sky crawlers.
  2. I wonder if different hardware revisions were able to load during the elevator rides faster... they were annoying for me but weren't nearly long enough to be the excruciating soul crushing treks into the wastelands of boredom that some people make them out to be. But I agree, more news bits, more chatting, etc could dress up those painful 15 seconds a little better.
  3. I agree. While it would be nice to play as my shepard again, I'm more interested in seeing the fruits of my choices which is what drove me to replay the game so many times.
  4. I'd be happy if it was less gappy in fighter mode. Specifically the way the the intakes and shoulders fit. Not happy enough to buy these two particular paint schemes but more inclined if there was a nice low viz scheme in the future.
  5. man kensei, that rig sounds like a monster!
  6. best RPG ever? not even the best JRPG ever.
  7. heh, those are the two PG i own as well. I don't know where they are though, boxed up somewhere....
  8. maybe... because unlike most every other macross toy line out there, Yamato toys actually look like the anime? And that's why they can just put a photo of the toy on the box... because the toy looks like the anime... while the other toy lines need to show you what the toy is supposed to represent... because they don't look like the anime?
  9. from the new movie
  10. Well, they work as just volume and controlling windows media player but they don't launch WMP like they used to with the proper dell drivers. But I gave that up years ago when I upgraded to Vista so I don't miss it. And I think you're right about the performance bump. Game performance is definitely better than under Vista and last night I installed WoW just to test it out and it played smoother than I remembered under XP as well. I'm definitely loving 7.
  11. ah, great shot, great pose, awesome!
  12. Nice, I like the 2nd one. gunpod71, stop making me jealous man!
  13. just finished installing win 7 on my aging dell inspiron 6000 (pentium M 1.7 ghz, 2GB RAM and a radeon X300 video card) and it runs beautifully. I just did an upgrade install over the existing Vista install and everything works, audio and video work fine and there's even a performance bump! Games run noticeably smoother and I can now playback 720p MKV files smoothly where before with vista I could not.
  14. neat, not my cup of tea but it looks kick ass.
  15. yeah, uwe boll movies make so much money . I was directly responding to kung flu's anecdote about non trekkies not liking Trek or not giving it a chance, not trying to make any other point but considering how you completely misrepresented that in order to further your sad embitterment of the fact that people out there are enjoying this movie...
  16. sarcasm doesn't change the fact that TX interfaced with the police computers and then interfaced with skynet before judgment day. You can bitch and moan all you want, but all of these supposed plot holes are patched up neatly if you just watch and accept the information given on screen instead of acting like a petulant child about a completely made up fantasy world.
  17. man, let's hope the gameplay can live up to that level of awesome.
  18. congrats, that build was epic! Macross II!
  19. no, there would have been autopsy photos, kyle's face, dental records, finger prints, possibly DNA would have been all over police records and FBI records... from the first Kyle. With parents today doing things like prenatal genetic testing, saving core blood, etc, it's not a stretch at all that TS kyle would have left enough records behind for skynet to be able to put two and two together. And it's not a plot hole, changing the timeline was the whole POINT of every terminator movie from the first one on. Terminator is not Trek, the continuity isn't sacred, continuity in Terminator is a plot device.
  20. well, obviously with over 200 million in the bank, your friend is in the minority. I have film snob friends, including one who was the director of a well known film festival who went to this Trek (first Trek movie ever) and loved it.
  21. The original Kyle was born post JD but not this Kyle, this kyle would have been born in 2002, 2 years before judgement day and his info would have been available to skynet.
  22. Well, there's a plausible, in series reason...T3. The police have kyle's body and we know that T-X interfaced with the police computers and later with skynet. Right there a lot of the supposed "how does skynet know" plot holes disappear. Skynet knows more than it's supposed to because T-X from the future managed to interface with the skynet in the past. Besides, trying to match up TS to what's been shown in the previous movies is pointless because one of the basic ideas of the films is that the future is in motion so everytime a terminator went back in time it changed the future... so yes, there's going to be details in TS that don't match up to the first two movies, that's not a plot hole, that's the whole point.
  23. that shot of the 21 is gorgeous, incredible lighting.
