  1. I like that konig, the details on it look like it'll easily surpass the yamato version. Here's hoping that the shuttle mode doesn't look like a loose pile of junk.
  2. oooh, thanks! Looks awesome except for that sloppy shoulder joint. Hopefully the shoulder armor things can be positioned to hide those giant pegs...
  3. nah, she's too thin, Nanase has a slight pleasant plumpness!
  4. wow, the detailing on them new 1/60's is amazing!
  5. Nope, I checked. Oddly, my yf-21 does have a loose belly plate. edit:: Oh wait, nevermind, it does have the gap, but it's not loose. go figure. editt:: Luckily my insert wasn't glued down like yours, shaved off the excess material on the screw mount and it's fine now. I honestly would never have noticed if it wasn't brought up here. Didn't affect transformation or fit.
  6. There are no consistant issues. My copy doesn't have loose wings or the belly plate issue that some other people are reporting.
  7. It's not much lighter, the way the light is hitting it makes it look more apparent than it actually is. The upper body and arms are molded in brown plastic and the legs are painted brown so depending on how the light hits it, it's either noticeable or barely noticeable.
  8. Where oh where is Vegas?
  9. LOL, reminds me of when I worked down in Anaheim and I was driving a coworker home and she saw a bunch of cosplayers out in front of the convention center and she just starts ripping into them... ridiculing why they would dress up like cartoon characters. This coming from a woman who spends nearly all her free time making costumes for her Renaissance Fair guild.
  10. give him a break, he's still wondering how both Max AND Miria are supposed to fit inside that little 1d head.

  12. It's not just that.. maybe I'm just not sentimental or whatever but even when I was a young kid, I was always disappointed in the chunkies... how I couldn't transform it into GERWALK the way I saw it done in the cartoon, how inaccurate the sculpt was, how it had such limited posability, I was plainly aware of the flaws. I loved it because there wasn't anything better and I longed for something that really captured the look and the features of what I saw on TV. For me, the 1/48 and now the 1/60 scale toys are those hopes and dreams realized and that's why, even though I'm an old crotchety bastard who grew up with chunkies, I'm more than happy to leave them where they bring me the most joy, in the warm glossy idealization of my memories.
  13. same picture, different lighting
  14. feh. I grew up with them... just like I prefer my ipod over my aiwa personal cassette player, I prefer my CAD designed, anime accurate, tampo printed yammie over a chunkie. Nostalgia only goes so far.
  15. transvestite or crossdressing is not the same thing as gay.
  16. happy to report I didn't experience my usual AM outage!
  17. The same thing, after you mod it to one inch of its life.... that thing has a new head, hands, thigh swivel mod, feet mod, gunpod mod, missile mod and it looks like a new nose cone as well. Impressive work!
  18. I really like that Nanase... the model really captures the look of the character very well.
  19. Wow, impressive... even more impressive that despite all the ones you have there are a couple you're missing!
  20. ahahahahaha!
