I have to agree... it's not that the paint chipping is so horrible it's that I already wasn't a fan of the DX and had settled on the armored release because the armor hid many of the things I didn't like about the sculpt in the first place. Reading it comes fresh with super glue vapor stains, lacks markings and other details just pushed me back over the edge of not getting it. And over-drive did it again, took my money, didn't place the order on their site... it's a sign, I'll wait for the 1/48 model.

the 1 lamp is fine, you're getting good light out of it, but like a thin paper napkin or parchment paper, something to diffuse the light a little so you don't get that blown out look you're getting on the 1j.. which is so white it just acts like a giant reflector. nice pictures though, keep the blasphemy free work coming!

try putting a thing sheet of paper or something over the light, it's coming out way too hot and blowing out the whites on the valks.

Nice pictures, those shots of the missile boxes make me feel better about cancelling though. All it would have taken was a grey or black insert with holes punched out for the missiles to make them look like missiles and not like a rash or a box full of raspberries... oh well.

Dude, value is relative. You can make this argument about anything. Why buy a nice car when you can buy a cheap used car? Why buy nice shoes when you can buy a set for 5 bucks at the dollar store, why buy a big ass TV when there's starving children in africa, why buy your girl a diamond ring when a plastic crackerjack ring will fit on her finger? It means nothing to you, that's fine and personally I wouldn't spend 50 bucks on a 1/55 even if it were MISB, but really there's no reason to crap all over someone else just because they value certain things differently than you do.

to do a rough composite isn't hard. There's a variety of tools to make selections, from the wands, to the pen or the quick mask. The trick is to get the images to look like they belong in the same space. You'd be good at that, I think, since you already do tings like adjust balance and what not.

oh yeah, it seems to be mostly stuff I think we came to expect. Some stuff on the neck and how people were hoping for an extendable one instead of the a swap out part/ and he likes the weight of it. My translator friend is kinda busy and just came back from a wedding in Germany so he's not really in the mood to give me a good translation. but I gather that the overall review is positive.
