  1. yeah, Old Boy was quite amazing. I liked Sympathy for Lady Vengeance as well.
  2. ...
  3. haha, good luck with the bmw.
  4. Have you seen A Tale of Two Sisters? It's fantastic
  5. Discovering the bold function doesn't make something true. Of the shows that were canceled most weren't done so because of ratings but because the shows were so old they became too expensive. Angel was canned because it didn't "fit the direction of the network" which was apparently down the toilet. Most shows in the west aren't designed with a defined end in mind. Most shows, nearly all shows, are designed to be non linear by nature. Low ratings or budget issues are therefore the reason for cancellation for nearly all shows. This doesn't mean that they show up the studio one day and find out they were fired. They find these things out, usually, weeks or months ahead of time. Most of these shows knew they were going out and yet they still chose to go out open ended with several key plot and character arcs unresolved.
  6. Yeah, the battroid looks pretty awesome. Legs seem a little short or the body a little long, but whatever... still looks better than the yamato yf-19 battroid.
  7. of the VT?
  8. I'm game. Never been to the SJ J-town.
  9. so yup.. vf-19 has the DX vf-25 syndrome. Legs are slung too low in fightermode and the shoulder pads are extended to compensate.
  10. I figured BlueMax was new around here and wasn't clued in to how we roll around here. His post was far too rational and free of hysterics.
  11. you're totally missing the point. The point is it's yamato and everything they do or don't do is worthy of scorn, ridicule and arm waving hysterics.
  12. Well, Bandai seems perfectly willing to go for a wheel on a stick without a landing gear bay when it comes to their landing gears so it's doubtful Bandai would have to dedicate as much real estate as yamato does.
  13. ouch...
  14. I loved the turbo graphix 16, my friend's dad worked on the localization for the US market so we got to play a lot of the games before they got released.
  15. Yeah.. I think 4.5 could have been stretched to a full season. I like that they're planning to do a movie set on earth... while I liked the ending I thought the final episode was a little too much like the ending of Return of the King with all the little mini endings.
  16. talking about Moore's BSG there EXO, right?
  17. And don't forget, this isn't the first time Bandai has taken a swing at the vf-19.
  18. Difference is SDF Macross has believable characters in an extraordinary setting which helps it age more gracefully despite the uber collars and bell bottoms. The original Galactica really doesn't have that going for it. Its characters are really a collection of cliches wearing velour that doesn't try to go in a unique direction but tries desperately to recapture the magic of Star Wars and repackage it for TV consumption.
  19. I agree that this battroid captures the chunkiness of the anime vf-19... but it's a little early to be able to say the fighter mode is sleek. That angle hides flaws really well. From the looks of it I think the legs are slung too low in fighter mode.
  20. metal bikinis actually don't taste very good. very metallicy.
  21. mmm.... yoko.
  22. but still what? It doesn't have landing gear so it doesn't have a gullet. It was the same decision that yamato had to make, make a partsformer that looks good or perfect transformation with compromises?
  23. nevermind. I'll be receiving my copy come september or october. I'll see if it lives up to hype or scorn then.
