  1. What do you mean "next"?
  2. It's even more ridiculous than villages sending out squads of child ninjas to settle differences.
  3. Watching gurren lagann again... still hate Rossiu. Simon should have pulled an adama and shot him and all the other coward traitors.
  4. My favorite track is still violence and variations from the season 3 soundtrack.
  5. I've been wanting this for a long time. I had hoped the CF sv-51 would come with the daisy cutter but nope... I think exo fitted some 1/48 missiles and bombs on a yammie 1/48 vf-1 and it was pretty sweet.
  6. If HG owns the rights to those designs then they HAVE TO contest if someone tries to infringe on their rights. If they don't, basically they can lose their claim to it. HG doesn't need to be "friendly" with people who are basically trying to profit off their IP.
  7. it's 240 something on HLJ right now
  8. Schizophrenic's family naming conventions, this is a fascinating topic.
  9. that price was with shipping, right? edit:: actually not a bad price considering it comes with the Raiser and the GN drives are prebuilt and light up.
  10. Oh I know, and the VF-1 presumably can act as a boat too. I'm just saying... it's silly.
  11. get back to work on your SDF-1!
  12. It's not just that. Exposed electronics will work fine in a vacuum, not so much under water. So lets say the cabin is pressurized and the engines are completely airtight *and* watertight (yes, airtight and watertight are different and the seals for freshwater and saltwater are different too), what about all the avionics, hatches? hydraulics, etc? It's pretty ridiculous that a plane/spaceship would also be designed as a submersible as well.. yes, even a plane/spaceship that transforms into a robot.
  13. I love that sci-fi truism that spaceworthy = submersible. Makes no sense and makes me cringe and giggle at the same time whenever it comes up. Futurama did it best: Fry: How many atmospheres can this ship withstand? Farnsworth: Well it's a spaceship, so I'd say anywhere between zero and one.
  14. I think apples are better than oranges too!
  15. some nice photos from an airline pilot over in the genmay forums http://www.genmay.com/showthread.php?t=819648
  16. Yup, look at the F-117... I remember hearing that if the computer ever goes out or goes on the fritz, there is no manual "kick it till it works" option, the pilot is just supposed to bail out.
  17. I'm sure they could. Macross planes are pretty conservative, it seems like, as far as fictional anime planes are concerned.
  18. The lack of a vertical tail is a 'shop job but not the lack of horizontal stabilizers which is what this thread is about. Besides, the x-31 demonstrated it is feasible to go tailless.
  19. Thrust vectoring lets you do all sorts of crazy things.
  20. woohoo! A fellow Nikon shooter!
  21. wow, great work. Love the clean paint application.
  22. I'll take leica over olympus any day of the week, especially when the difference is only 100 dollars.
  23. panasonic/leica rangefinder goodness.
  24. Yeah, we went through this when those first shots of the DX vf-25 came out and people were predicting complete resculpts and the most we got was that the canopy hinge got hidden.
  25. saw it on a fan subbed VHS tape that we rented from Super Collectibles back in their glory days in fountain valley CA, with their pit of action figures and the captain's chair from the Enterprise. I remember sitting in stunned silence at my friends house as we all looked at one another, "This is macross? holy crap!" Made me fall in love with Macross all over again, though my love for anime wouldn't be resparked until a few years later when I saw a screening of Naussica at UC Santa Cruz.
