  1. things still have mass in space and they still have inertia. So wielding that monster would still be problematic, potential more so, in space since now you don't have the ground to stop movement and an uncontrolled swing could send gundam into an uncontrolled spin.
  2. It's just a visual MacGuffin. It does everything and anything, the ultimate plot bondo. It's a visual incarnation of why and how gundam has become a super robot show.
  3. I prefer the nikon UI over canon's as well as the ergonomics in terms of button and wheel placement but I will say canon's grip is nicer. Nikon's lenses are superior in build and performance Nikon gets better ISO and color reproduction out of their sensors (even though they don't design and build their own). I can shoot handheld and without a flash in situations where my canon shooting friends have to bust out their flash setups. I decided early on that a crop frame camera was what I was most interested in over a full frame camera and Nikon is superior in this regard. When I bought my D90 the only competition canon had was the 4D and the D90 blows it out of the water and it's still competitive to the more expensive 5D. I find canon white lenses to be obnoxious.
  4. No, don't watch The Plan yet, there's a major spoiler in it
  5. you forgot: regenerates tissue damaged by false GN particles. allows "quantimization" of mecha
  6. meh, I got a stand.
  7. gonna be fun. Hope they refine the camera though.
  8. meh, semantics, you say boomer, I say Athena... in any event, that model is the final cylon.
  9. errr... I was just trying to throw you off... but yeah, it's pretty shocking when he shows up, really fraks up roslyn.
  10. Man, I can't believe Doc Cottle was the final cylon.
  11. yeah, it should be in the big box as a separate smaller box from the two big ones.
  12. did you order the "initial production version"?
  13. It's the simplest PG kit by far. I almost want to say it's something in between bandai's 1/60 line and the PG line. A lot of the gimmicks of a PG kit are actually in the Raiser, the little opening panels and stuff while the 00 itself is a pretty straight forward build. But I like it. I don't know if it's really worth 300 bucks compared to the Strike/skygrasper but it has it's own charms.
  14. I'm really enjoying it as well. I hope Fox gave Joss enough time to write a proper ending for the series.
  15. lol, just realized I ordered the max vf-22 from two people... oh well, off to write that cancellation request email.
  16. that's because the canadians are still sore about the time we invaded them. Get over it already, it was 200 years ago and we lost that war, forgive us!
  17. yeah, the cockpit is a joke compared to other PG kits. It's just a box with a chair. No instrument panel or anything. They probably had that done by the guy who did the cockpit for the dx vf-25.
  18. you probably don't want to do that. the body ring is connected to the lower portion of the upper body by a small peg and there's a latch on either side. The problem is the peg isn't very long or secure and it pops off pretty easily. If you glue the latches in place, it might be a little stronger but if it does pop off, you'll have a bitch of a time getting the two halves together again the range of movement on the upper body is actually pretty good for a PG kit. definitely more range than the mk. II kit and the side to side is better than the strike but the strike has better forward/backwards rocking motion. the shoulder assembly looks weak but it's not bad either. Like the lower body/ring connection, it's a small peg with latches on either side but the latches do a much better job holding the shoulder assembly in place and there's quite a range of motion in that area. Not as much as strike, but better than the mk II The arms have a range of motion pretty similar to the strike but like the legs, no where near as much detail and moving parts.
  19. Most japanese movies have a shoestring budget compared to a hollywood movie. For example, princess mononoke was the most expensive anime film ever made at the time... with a ginormous budget of around 20 million USD. Disney's 1998 Mulan cost 90 million to make by comparison.
  20. A quick google search shows that 5 million is actually pretty respectable... http://boxofficemojo.com/intl/japan/?yr=20...k=43&p=.htm
  21. Well, be prepared to be disappointed then. Ron's BSG or, as as it's affectionately known as, GINO (Galactica in name only) never reaches such dazzling heights as what you described. Sadly, the like grey color palette the show is shot in, the plots remain dismal, focusing rather on mundane human foibles rather than gloriously basking in stunt casting and racial stereotypes. Prepare to take your fun hat off when you pick up season 4 and reach over for that bottle of scotch... you're gonna need it.
  22. Your kanye quote doesn't even make sense... how did I interrupt you? I just offered a counter argument albeit in a snarky tone. If MS is going to be helping to get the game out the door by giving square millions of dollars, is it so unreasonable to ask for simultaneous release date? The fact is, for the N. America market, the 360 version of any game sells nearly 2:1 what the PS3 version does, even if the game is marketed primarily for the PS3 like assassins creed 2. This isn't a Sony game. It's made by a 3rd party who took money from a major publisher who is well known for having some strict rules in order to do business with them. So if you want to blame somebody, blame Square, MS is just doing what they always do and protecting their investment.
  23. Oooh, a kanye west reference, clever! And the 360 has a larger install base everywhere BUT japan. So what's your point? Square is in the business of making money, if they have a chance to potentially double their sales figure in the international market by delaying the game by a few months on one hand, and making a few sony fanboys cry boo-hoo tears on the other, which choice do you think they're going to make?
  24. Don't get me wrong.. I love the kits. I'm not even much of a gundam fan but I love the kits enough to buy them! I only have the mk II, strike and 00. The only thing that really bugs me is that the upper body tends to pop easily from the hips/lower body on the mk II since the ball joint is very secure between the two and then it's a chore to line up the little hydraulic pistons between the two halves.
  25. yeah... stupid square giving the game a potential double market... what were they thinking??? Like it or not, with the production costs spiraling upwards, a multi-system is the way of the future.
