right "are" not "ever" It's a vagueness that got exploited. a retcon is actually changing something that was explicitly stated, like when marvel turned Wolverine's claws into a mutation and not an implant. Or when DC decided Batman hated guns even though early on he would use Gatling guns and what not.

but nutrional value is just one thing to consider. I mean, apples are far more aesthetically pleasing having a variety of colors, greens, golden yellow, bright red and every combination of those three. Their shape is pleasing and fits neatly into the palm of your hand. Sliced or diced, apples maintain their shape and crunchy characteristic. Bananas are just yellow and bland. They spoil quickly, and have the consistency of baby food. Then there's the historical and religious significance of the apple. As you implied, the apple gave us knowledge of good and evil and the apple helped in the colonization of the United States as the land laws of the time required land owners to plant something on their land and apple trees were readily available thanks to one J. wait, what??? haha, no. Spirits Within NEVER comes close to what we see in Avatar. First, the models, they don't come close to the avatar models. Their range of motion is limited and the models deformed awkwardly at times and in certain poses. This problem can be seen quite readily in Flight of the Osiris of the Animatrix. Cloth modelling and animation is also poor compared to Avatar. Then there's the motion capture and animation. It was extremely limited and spirits within switches back and forth between motion capture and manually animated. The animated stuff was extremely wooden and unnatural. Facial expressions don't come close to what we see in Avatar, if anything they're only slightly better than what we see in modern games like Mass Effect. Spirits may have broken ground for realistic human models but to claim that they accomplished the same "level" as what's seen in Avatar is just flat out wrong.

Boomer/Athena was always a cylon, she's revealed as one at the end of the mini series. There are 12 cylons because number 7 was canned and scrapped.

If that's the case, there was no point in them making the characters have international backgrounds. The point of purposefully stating someone is italian or american isn't to just whitewash them and make them all the same. In fact, that's contrary to the overall message of SDFM, that we can learn to get along DESPITE our differences, not that we are all exactly the same.

I have no problem with older characters in Macross speaking with an ethnic accent. The unification war didn't last long enough to obliterate local cultures and languages and there's no reason why someone born into a particular nationality wouldn't speak with an appropriate accent just because that particular political regime is no longer around. If moved to England, I'm not going to suddenly start speaking with a British accent, unless I was a major pompous tool, like Madonna. And different cultures and generations view assimilation differently. Real world example: the first wave of korean immigrants to North America proceeding and during the Japanese occupation of Korea adopted an assimilation is good mindset and didn't move into ethnic enclaves like the chinese and japanese immigrants did and actively taught their children english even at the expense of teaching them korean. On the flip side, Chinese immigrants to North America, for various internal and external reasons lived in ethnic enclaves, taught their children their own dialect first and this pattern continues today with each subsequent wave of migrants moving into established "chinatowns". Two markedly different views on migration and assimilation despite being ethnic and cultural cousins. Of course, a robot speaking ebonics or with an aussie accent is another thing entirely.

Just watch out for the 'c' clips and the hand assembly. The digits snap into each other and then the upper part of the palm that takes the ball joint of the fingers. The plastic is brittle (at least on my copy) and cracks easily. Both c clips on the rear knee armor failed and the armor pops off when using the upper knee joint (the one with the ratchet). The ratchet has also failed after time as well... still enough tension to hold a pose thanks to insert but it no longer makes the "tack,tack,tack" sound. The ratchet is DESIGNED to fail BTW. The teeth and the ratchet are the same material and the ratchet isn't spring mounted. So you're just dragging the teeth against an equally hard piece of plastic. Eventually they'll just wear each other out.

One of the things that made that scene so powerful for me was that for 4 seasons we've watched Adama love and forgive countless times. And when gaeta is in that room with Baltar, I half expected Adama to be listening in and at the last moment, forgive him and call him family.

I don't get what's to dislike about it. I had a terrific time watching it.

Gaeta was never a moral character, he was an idealistic character.

I always liked that the mechs were butt ugly. It fit into the whole mythos of battletech that it was basically taking place in a type of dark ages where people just didn't give a crap about making things look nice.
