  1. I love my PS3, still the best blu-ray player! I hear it plays games too.
  2. First moore's BSG and now snowcrash... at least you're consistent in having horrible horrible taste.
  3. I dunno, i think the drop rate on STO is pretty liberal.
  4. meh. Wasn't interested in the reboot before and I continue to be not interested. Though, his wooden acting does rival the governators... so hey, continuity there.
  5. once you get a cruiser leveling goes really fast. Those starter ships just suck, a cruiser will let you go through 4-5 frigates in the time it takes a starter to kill 1 or 2. you can also keep going back for the "secure sector X" missions from Sulu. Find a good group or add me "aramina@eugimon" and I'll help out and you can go through those pretty quickly and get some loot
  6. bought me my first escort class ship. will try it out tomorrow
  7. I'm down for whenever. I vote for SF again
  8. So... now that there's a bunch of in tier 2 ships, starting to see tanks and DPS cooperation come into play. My cruiser has level IV shields so I take the beating while a bunch cruisers or escorts do the damage. Makes short work of even +6 mobs.
  9. It's feast or famine. I just got the quantum torpedo console to go with it but I'm usually selling off batteries every few missions to clear up inventory space
  10. Got my first quantum torpedo launcher... mmmm... quantumy goodness...
  11. they serve the function of kicking your ass... I ran into a Borg system while still in a starter ship. That was sad going.
  12. yes, the Away mission looks great now. Resized the party in relationship to the map, much better performance, just a great patch
  13. 800 megs? no wonder it's taking forever. level cap has been removed as well. http://www.startrekonline.com/node/910
  14. meh. Battroid looks good but I think fighter mode is still a mess.
  15. It's rather silly to insist that love and sex are not inter-related. If you're going to make the violence graphic enough to warrant an R rating and then treat the adult relationships with puritan gloves, well... that's my point exactly.
  16. But there is the "grind until you find 10 of these and come back" missions. The nice thing about ST:O is that there's more than enough missions where you can just not do the dumb ones but still advance levels and story
  17. I've been getting dropped from the servers every 10-20mins today. pretty annoying. I agree with mike though, the game grows on me the more I play. Might subscribe later after ME2
  18. haha.. naomi wildman...
  19. so far yes... there's the occasional go there, fight, beam down, walk around and find 4 rocks mission... but as you play the missions you start to develop a story line for your character
  20. Hello, you must be new to America. Graphic violence is fine but nudity and consensual adult sexuality is strictly frowned upon.
  21. yes, I've played MMOs before, I'm familiar with the concept. But if you're going to have a crouch mechanic then it should be useful. And I don't recall having to spam the attack button in WoW. You just keep attacking until it dies, you can interrupt with spells and what not. And yes, it's a beta but I'm not knocking the game because it's a beta. I'm just talking about the basic play mechanic of standing around in a fire fight and having to spam the attack button while your AI squadmates run around in circles, get stuck in other rooms, wander off and draw the attention of other mobs, etc. There's no reason for that even in an MMO. Even the AI in Guild Wars had more sense than these guys do. I agree there's plenty to like. Upgrading your crew, ship to ship combat, all fun. I just don't think it's 15 dollars a month fun
  22. yeah, the whole away mission mechanic is seriously flawed. Even if it wasn't laggy and buggy as hell. The complete lack of a cover system when there's a next to useless "crouch" mode, having to continually hit the fire button for the basic attack... it just feels like a mediocre 3rd person shooter from 10 years ago. And the pop up dialog screens... who the hell thought that would be a good idea?
  23. I guess but I'm guessing you can customize the Galaxy class into a Nebula configuration as you can choose different secondary hull and pylon configurations. There's still a lot of canon designs like the galaxy, intrepid, and defiant classes. Personally, I don't think ship selection is the flaw with this game.
