Well, the ship was surfing the wave and hit the very top of the statue so it's going to have physics on it's side. Those statues weren't carved out of a single block of stone but made up of several blocks stacked on top of each other, getting smacked by the ship and the accompanying massive wave seems like it would be enough to take it down. And those old wooden ships were built pretty sturdy. What's left of the boat then rides the wave inland and comes to rest. There's plenty of real world examples of boats being found inland after large storm surges. Granted they're usually smaller vessels and not large passenger ships but whatever. edit:: I agree it's a rather contrived bit of writing but I also agree with Hurin, the whole show is a giant exercise in deus ex machina.

On that note, the more flamboyantly painted the valkyire, the greater the survivability of the pilot.

My advice, focus on what's important. If you're looking at something and you want to take a picture of it, ask yourself why. 9 times out of 10 it's not going to be the whole scene, it's going to be the look they're giving each other, or the way they are holding hands, or some other small gesture. So take a picture of that, don't be afraid to get in there and get the shot of what drew you in on the first place. if your copy is like my copy, the plastic may be brittle and small stuff like the c-clips and the fingers may crack on you just from the pressure of snapping things together.

Well, steadying technique will help some but if your shutter speed is slow and your subjects are in motion (like at a wedding) then you're still going to get a soft focus. A fast lens will help and so will a flash. That's not to to say soft focus or even blur is bad. You can use them to great effect, like to create a painterly effect, or to capture motion and energy.

Looking good but the focus is a bit soft. Try playing around with the composition a little, like not centering the subject so squarely in the middle of the frame. And the bride looks like she could be my real estate agent's younger sister!

nope it's not glued, the wheel just has a really rough mold and the plastic/rubber of the tire is really tight. But you can push it off the wheel with just your thumb and push it back on the same way.

but the show looks like it will reveal those things as it progresses.
