  1. I'm trying to decide which toy line I want to collect Yamato 1/12 Votoms, or go with the Takara 1/16 Votoms. After reading up on anymoon.com I'm leaning heavily toward the Takara Votoms and I was just wondering if anybody could tell me their experiences with the Yamatos. I feel like the Takara's versions offer a bit more value out of the box. They offer pilot figures, better detailing and paint apps, a bit more metal content?(Not sure on that one) and would be easier to make space for considering they are a big smaller, but still fairly large. The Yamato's on the other hand have amazing box art, and better overall sculpts, but have the downside of being very bland on the surface... and well - large. The box is massive and so is the toy, so their are space considerations. They also don't include a pilot and I've read the leg joints/hand joints get weak on some versions? That said, o you think $160 shipped for a Strong Bachus is a great deal, or just a good deal? I've read here there are several condition issues with the hands and it doesn't pose well?
  2. Thanks man. I'll keep it in mind if I can't find one. I'm not really a painter
  3. I'll keep it in mind if nobody else gets back to me with a real head. Thanks though very cool.
  4. Whats the best way to get the laser out? I know there is a screw under the head...
  5. Who bumps into a giant glass display shelf? Sheesh. haha
  6. I read the comic series when it first started, up to about 66 or 75. I forget. It got kind of aimless and boring. I watched the first few episodes of season 1 but the tone and accents were just god awful. Zombies are just played out Course, I was a zombie fan for 20+ years so .
  7. Got any pics?
  8. Cool! this 3d printing business is fun. Would the colors match up?
  9. I posted this on the wanted forum, but after getting so many leads on a vf-0 head this seems like a better place to ask around for small parts, obviously. Anyway, I have a great 1/48 but I'm missing her little badass self. If you have one laying around .. or any pilot I could plop in there really, let me know!
  10. I have no idea what that means, but it sounds good! haha
  11. The arm is plastic, but the claws are metal. Its weird. it's loose when you move it.. but it sits tight in whatever pose. I think it came that way. Idk Ive never taken a MP apart before so I might just leave it for now.
  12. Yeah seems too complicated for me.
  13. Thanks. Just send me a PM and I can paypal you some loot.
  14. Im busy. I forget things haha like where I get links.. haha
  15. http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/bt/the-sage/anime-abandon/38071-anime-abandon-macross-ii Never heard this guys stuff but it's not a bad review if you don't want to sit through watching it. haha.
  16. Awesome haha. It has a calming puzzle effect after a long week of work.
  17. I would have to pick Takara with their work on the Transformers Masterpiece line, and their superior scopedog work for the Votoms series. Their quality issues seem to be heads and shoulders above what Yamato offered, and they seem to strike a perfect balance with transformations that are complex enough without being frustrating, while keeping great looking representations of the art from the shows. Not to mention they seem to have a handle on getting toys to American audiences better than Bandai.
  18. I find it's helpful to see how 2 or 3 different people do it on youtube. And just take your time. I like to sit down with a beer on a Friday night (Exciting, I know) and just fiddle with it for a few hours. After you've done it a few times it gets pretty easy to do. I'm also of the opinion that it's better for toys to transform them a few times. I feel like if the joints never get used the plastic has less give in it later down the road and could break when you do transform it.
  19. I use 2 or 3 youtube videos and the manual all at once. Anymoon.com/scorched earth toys has some good reviews/transformations. Collection DX has a fighter to battroid that's ok, but kind of fuzzy. I couldn't find one for Battroid to Fighter, but that was the only part that gave me problems. I guess since it's new it's pretty stiff.
  20. Love this community. Always helpful.
  21. Yeah I tend to err on the side of caution and have a soft touch haha
  22. Thanks VT102. I appreciate the pictures!
  23. Thanks exo that helped a lot. Now I just can't get the leg pegs into the backpack. Taking a break. haha
  24. Idk.. Ive got the nose cone pulled out as far as it will go... hmmm. It just won't snap back up in there. Sigh.
  25. I've gotten pretty good at transforming Yamato's from Fighter to battroid, but I think this is the first time I've gone back and it's getting annoying. So I snapped everything in place but this part of the chest wont go flush with the legs connector. I even took the heat shield out and it won't stay snapped up. Any thoughts?
