I think he may make it so difficult for people to make local copies of these images because he eventually envisions (perhaps unrealistically, based on prior experience) a very large, comprehensive Macross site. But, such large, comprehensive sites might attract the attention of the copyright holders. In such a situation, demonstrating that the images were not publically available en masse and not easily copied might just save him the trouble of a nasty lawsuit and might just persuade The Man to leave him alone. Ever wondered why the Macross Compendium is almost competely image-free? H

Been there, done that. Got the books to prove it, though I sold most of them when I moved out of that phase. I've got my interests, and I enjoy talking about them. Some would say I enjoy talking about them too much. I'd say they just need to find something that interests them more than whatever they have now. I didn't intend offense (not that you seem offended, just making sure). My (worthless) comment was directed towards this thread as a whole. . . not you in particular. I just noticed a parallel between how I follow this thread even though I'm not terribly interested because some people whose posts I like to follow post in this thread. . . but I really don't care much either way about consoles. And this reminds me of the people who follow the Star Wars threads and other such threads where the debate gets very heated and seems irreconcilable even though they don't seem to care one way or the other. I'll shut up now.

So this is how people feel when I talk too much about Star Wars.

Mari was so very considerate and nice. Yes, she looks to be about twenty-five. I personally thought it charming when she dropped the F-bomb. She seemed to be trying to make us feel like she was comfortable there and perhaps engaging in a bit of informal langauge was what she felt was needed to demonstrate it. If I recall correctly, the only F-bomb I heard was in response to someone who asked if her kids were into her music. Her response (jovially): "They don't f'ing care." But I might have missed others because I was in the back and sorta wandering from room to room. We also arrived partway through her appearance. I also think everyone in attendance deserves a lot of credit for not making her feel uncomfortable but rather being very dignified and respectful. I was fearing (having never met anyone from MW in person before) a cliche Star Trek convention atmosphere where she is asked super-obscure questions and/or made to feel leered at. Nothing could have been further from the truth. Everybody was super-respectful towards her. Well, at least, that was my take on it. I suppose we can't know for sure how she felt about us. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised at how, well. . . normal everyone was. It wasn't nearly the geek-fest that a small part of me anticipated. And, my girlfriend, who attended partly to see where I ranked on the geek-o-meter among my MW peers, was surprised at how "normal" everyone seemed. And she pointed out more than a few cute guys! Looks like a good time was had by all. We should have stuck around for dinner. Didn't realize things were going to go so late or that others were still going to show up! Would have rather stayed than sit in traffic on the 405 and wander Ikea. Thanks to Soloscud, Shawn, and Seiichi. It was a lot of fun! P.S. I also thought it was cool of Mari to just come down and have pizza with some of y'all. . . like she was just one of the guys. I didn't even realize she was over there until I had finished half my lunch.

Read what he has to say about the OT. Hehe, yep, he's rips on each of the movies. But he really seems to reserve his real venom for the prequels. The level of ridicule reaches a whole new level whenever he refers to the prequels from within an Original Trilogy script. He also seems to hate Return of the Jedi too. I like this guy.

Well, it's hardly a done deal that Boba Fett will be in it. The operative word in that article is could. That being said, it's odd that they are choosing the "kid Boba" actor to play an adult (or near-adult) Boba Fett (the actor is now 18). Since Boba is a clone of his father, you'd think he'd look exactly like the guy who played Jango and all those clones. Oh well. . . doesn't really matter, I'll watch regardless. H

I don't hate him or anything. I just love how he puts so much effort in these responses to posts I put so little effort into. He's your son, not mine. He digs the Nanashi comedy, and I can dig that. People are tired of me. People are tired of you. But most of all, they are tired of the two of us together. I do realize --as you have said several times-- that you derive entertainment from playing dumb and provoking (verbose) responses from me long after anyone can see how the actual dispute has turned out. I'll try to work on not being the type of person who takes that bait. Why don't you work on not being the type of person who enjoys laying it out? H

I had to get three X-boxes before I got one that wouldn't freeze randomly. My brother is on his third Playstation. And he doesn't play it all that much. So, it's a tie. Sometimes things break or arrive defective and no company is perfect. For every guy decrying Maxtor hard drives on one forum, there's a guy decrying Seagates on another. . . because both have had a bad experience or have "heard things." It's no different than consoles. Except that there are probably more Sony Playstation complaints because there are more Sony playstations in out there. That logic reminds me of my Mac users who claim superiority because they don't get viruses. Well, that's because (generally) there aren't enough Mac users to make writing a virus for them worthwhile! I sold my X-box after about a year. Computer games still have the edge for all of the game types I enjoy. H

That sums up just about everything that went wrong with Ultima Online right there. H

How many Batman threads do we need?

Awwww, someone's upset. You can tell because he bothered to type more than a sentence. Poor little guy. H -
How many Batman threads do we need?
Hurin replied to Duke Togo's topic in MW Site News & Member Feedback
God, it just keeps getting funnier. I left, came back, and that sentence has lost none of its power! It's just brimming with witty satire and possibly a bit of Don Knotts-esque ribaldry. Duke Togo, thanks for pointing it out, man. I might have spent the rest of my life in ignorance about how funny that was. But, because you are both a comic genius and patient enough to explain it to me, I now see just how wonderful you are and how it was not at all lame of you to start a thread complaining about Batman threads and questioning the vigilance and priorities of the Mods. Heh. . . "Do we have any mods. . ." Hehehehe. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Sweet merciful crap! That's funny! I've been such a fool! I mean, whoever can't see the humor in a sentence like: "How many Batman threads do we need?" is seriously missing out. I'm glad I'm not one of them! Thanks for the chuckle man! Hell! Chuckle? More like gut-busting hilarity! I'm glad you're there in front of your computer constantly wracking your brain for threads to post here in the feedback thread. It's tough work to constantly be that funny and keep us all entertained, but if you can keep coming up with hilarious catch-phrases like: "Do we have any mods working here?" I can assure you that you'll have a friend for life! Bravo! H -
How many Batman threads do we need?

Oh my God! You are right! It is incredibly funny that you posted: How did I miss that!?! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA (deep breath) AAAAAAH HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Whoo! Wait a minute. Let me catch my breath. But, it's even funnier the second time around: But, wait. Here comes the punchline. . . BUUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Seriously, I think I just popped a hernia. Holy crap! Who are your comedic influences? Would you say you're from the Lenny Bruce school of comedy or more free-form story-teller like Richard Pryor? Because that is just pure gold! The part about the "Do we have any mods?" Priceless! With that sort of social commentary as an edge to your comedy, I'd say you're more like Chris Rock. H -

How many Batman threads do we need?
Hurin replied to Duke Togo's topic in MW Site News & Member Feedback
That being said. . . I can't imagine the lonely and uneventfull life someone must lead for them to consider this matter urgent. Oh no! There are a lot of Batman threads! Something must be done! Oh no! There are a lot of Star Wars threads now (thanks to someone's misguided attempt at making a point and proving his pet point that this place isn't run as well as it would be if he were in charge!)! The forums are ruined! We must have this rectified! The moderators are useless and lazy! The forums are falling apart due to their neglect! I have to scroll past a few threads to reach what I want! The horror! This is just pathetic. Let the friggin' threads drift back down. . . problem solved! The moderators don't need to do anything. . . and all of you wannabe-mods going around "discovering" (inventing) problems are becoming the problems yourselves. . . WHAT!?! MOM! I'LL BE OFF IN A MINUTE. JESUS! I have to go. . . -
How many Batman threads do we need?
Hurin replied to Duke Togo's topic in MW Site News & Member Feedback
I'm sorry that I've lost your "sympathy". . . but I decided to allow myself to have a little fun with him via my signature after enduring his trolling taunts for page after page in that Star Wars thread. I have to go now. Mom needs the computer. -
So, did you try to make some point about the relative need for a Star Wars thread by posting nonsense to every single recent Star Wars thread? Seven posts within a minute of each other. . . Partial screenshot: Nevermind: I see it's your little act of civil disobedience directed at the fact that a lot of Batman threads have come back to the front page. The horror! Well, it's a good thing you remedied the situation by also inundating us with outdated SW threads. Good solution! MW is lucky to have you! H

Couldn't have said it better me-self... Luke should have a rather confused look on his face when he sees these "ghosts" appear. . . considering he has no way of recognizing his father as a young man. In the original, it's obviously the man that Luke just burned on the funeral pyre. But who's this young guy glaring at him?

In most sci-fi, space is sorta considered to be like our oceans. So, there are space "navies" and such in a lot of popular sci-fi franchises. Our marines fight on land, sea, and air. So expanding that to space doesn't seem so odd to me. H

Hehe. . . there's a part there towards the very end where he's just plainly losing it and I can almost hear Will Ferrell in Zoolander screaming: "Doesn't anybody notice this!?! I feel like I'm taking CRAZY PILLS!"

Did someone say Rome? I'm looking forward to that show!

Though I should add that this thread has probably made it impossible for MGREXX to be banned right away since the mods probably don't want to set a precedent regarding "mob rule." So, can we just give him a warning, close this thread, and wait for him to (figuratively) hang himself?
-
In a perfect world, we'd all have enough self restraint to ignore this guy since he is obviously only here because he craves attention. Oddly, even though I'm often told that I can't turn away from a fight, I don't believe I've ever said anything directly to or about this guy because he is just so very obviously a troll. Now, one could argue that we bring it on ourselves and that we deserve his shenanigans because we're obviously unable to help ourselves and we give him the attention he deserves. This may factor into why the Mods haven't just banned this guy. Yet, I think expecting each and every one of us to ignore him is unrealistic. Someone will always give this person the attention he so desperately craves. Anyways, in closing, even though we aren't supposed to have these threads, I really do believe that MGREXX is a unique case where he's nearly universally understood to be a troll. In prior cases, there's always been at least the semblence of "two sides" to a person's alleged misbehavior. . . and some people have always shown up to point out that the person in question is being at least somewhat unfairly maligned. Nobody has stopped by to do that here on MGREXX's behalf aside from pointing out that there isn't concrete evidence that he's a multi-account-using troll. Nobody doubts he is a troll. He is here merely to stir people up, start flame wars, and get off on the attention. H

It's pretty f'ed up for Jennifer Aniston though. I mean, she's one of the hottest actresses in Hollywood. . . and her man just happens to run off with perhaps the only woman hotter than her. What are the odds!?!

Sadly, he does not seem to want to accept my apologies and has instead marched off into voluntary exile. This morning, feeling very empty inside, I wept quiety over his new signature: What have I done!?! Nooooooo! Though, on the bright side: Does this mean we can now discuss prices again in the Toys forum?
