1. OMFG! Something even better on that site: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rwLj7Isgvrg&search=macross
2. I am so there! I'm gonna try to get a Minmay shirt, or make one. This is gonna be fun!
3. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/bbs/phpBB2...pic.php?t=22948 I'm looking for confirmation. (Please delete if this is old news) EDIT: Whoa, looks like its true: http://www.myspace.com/mariiijima
4. Hey all. I've been seeing old anime laserdics on eBay, usually going extremely cheap. This is kinda sad to me, because I remember when Laserdiscs were the thing to have in anime fandom, although when that was true I was a teenager and watched all my anime on rented VHS tapes. I remember LDs being pretty expensive new (like 50 bucks or so? Let me know if I'm wrong) , and ridiculously expensive if they were rare or out of print. It looks like DVDs have really killed the secondary market for LDs, since I see LDs of popular shows regularly go pretty cheap. LD's hold some sort of mystique for me, probably because they were so coveted back in the 90's when I my anime interest was at its peak -- nostalgia or something. Also, the covers had huge surface area for really great pictures, and I hear many anime LDs had nice bonuses like liner-notes and stuff. They just seem more exciting than DVDs somehow. Since I missed out on Laserdisc (I never even heard of them until the 90's when I really got into anime), I'd love to hear some stories about them. *Do any people here collect them? *Are there any really cool anime LDs out there we should know about? *What cool stuff came with LD's? *Do you think LD's will be collected someday like LP's are now, or were they just too obscure? I can't wait to hear your replies!
5. Might not be a bad idea there David. I know there are a lot of games I want to play on my DS when I get one. Animal Crossing, Mario Cart, Mario 64, Age of Empires, Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, possibly Nintendogs. Plus some games that aren't out yet, like Children of Mana (already out in Japan) and New Super Mario. Maybe I should start buying games now.
6. Damnit, I want a DS now -- but I just can't get one knowing that the Lite is right around the corner. I hope it comes out in the States soon! I'd buy an import but the prices are just too high.

VF Girls

Here's my attempt. It looked way better before I scanned it. Still trying to get those perfect lines.
8. Look behind the missile rack.
9. Animeigo's got an even worse episode-to-disc ratio. Isn't it 4 per disc? I'm thinking the ADV set will be cheaper, plus it'll match my Mospeada & Southern Cross sets better. EDIT: What do you guys consider a bargain for the whole set of Animeigo discs?
10. Hell yes you do. At least I want you to...
11. I love you. I know you're a dude, but still. Can I sig your entire post?
12. Just wanted to let someone know. Where it says "All news is now posted in the forums", the link to the forums is broken.
13. she's from Gun X Sword 371697 Thank you! Any anime with characters that cool has my interest!
14. Questions! 1) What toyline are these from? Look like Armored Core. http://angelsrep.plala.jp/~fumiyuki/figure...060219_0104.jpg 2) What anime is this from? http://angelsrep.plala.jp/~fumiyuki/figure...060219_0205.jpg Thanks for any help!
15. I'm checking out your "looking for" list. Have you seen it?
16. F-ing gay, just like Aeon Flux and Underworld. Of course I thought Blade was gay as well, so it's not just a chick thing.
17. ohhhhh you missed on that one? poor you...theyre all sold out now 371085 Meanie. Okay, thanks for confirming that it's a custom valk and not available for purchase.
18. I don't get all the Macross Purist hate. I welcome more affordable toys in a smaller scale. I'll admit, in the pics on the Toynami website, the toys look worse. But that's probably because they're still using the old pictures they had waiting from before Toy Fair. I'm betting that the prototypes at Toy Fair were closer to the production model than whatever they took pictures of for the Toynami site. The opaque canopies are really the weak point here.
19. Damn, those were 1/72? You're crushing my dreams here....Anyway, I know they didn't put much heart into that Henshin Alpha -- it could have been done much better! No kidding? Damn. I was just going off what the box says. No!!! I refuse to believe! In any event, they can fudge the scale a bit if they need to make it bigger. As long as it's smaller than the VF-1 I'll be happy.
20. Agh! What the hell is that thing?! It's beautiful! Where did it come from? Where can I buy it?
21. Yeah, I could have at least mentioned the words "fighter mode" since that is what I was talking about. Sorry 'bout that. I knew you were right about the height. I just wanted to point out that the Alpha/Legioss' biggest dimension is its length in fighter mode. How big is that mini Henshin Robo Legioss that links up with the Lansay Tread? I'd guess it's around 1/100. Well, Figures.com says: What does SRP mean? Is that retail?
22. I wouldn't be too quick to proclaim this a 'quality' toy before any of us have had any actual hands-on experience with the final production version. While It looks nice in the photos and I wish Toynami all the best, their track record is less than stellar. Graham 369989 I'm only assuming a level of quality equal to the MPC Alpha, which is at least as high as the 1/60 Yammies. I think it's safe to bet that these will be tighter and sturdier than the Banprestos. EDIT: Oh, Jenius, my MPC Alpha is 9 inches long. That's 1/55 scale. So a 1/100 scale Alpha would be 4.95 inches long. Height would be slightly under 3.5 inches though! (not including antenna)
23. D'oh! Another one. You can't make MOSPEADA stuff in 1/100 scale... it'd be Teenie (your Alpha would be between 3 and 4" tall), the Invid Scout would be like 2". The MPC Alpha is about 6.5" tall and it's 1/55 scale. I don't have a problem with 2" Invid scouts. I bet they could do a 4" Alpha as well. Look at all the Transformer planes that are about that size -- it's doable. The Alpha transformation isn't all that complicated. As for a 1" transforming Cyclone...that would be a little tough.
24. Doesn't look too stubby in this shot:
25. AGH!!!!!! I could squeal like a little girl! FINALLY someone makes a quality, smaller sized valkyrie!!!!!!! I'm so freaking happy! Screw all the Toynami haters! This is my dream come true! I know, I can't stand HG either. But Toynami is getting better and better. Their MPC Alpha is great, and it's way better than their VF-1. Now, this VF-1 looks even better than the MPC! I've always wanted a cheap, smaller, yet detailed VF, and this is exactly that! My only complaint is the solid canopy, but maybe they'll fix that before release. I'm buying ALL of these! Six great-looking valks for $120-150?! Hell yeah! So there's a swing-bar. Big deal! It's actually the lowest-profile swing-bar I've ever seen on a VF. And at least it's shoulders don't hang down like a giant NUTSACK in fighter mode like the 1/48! Six inches is the perfect size for a VF in my opinion. Fits right in your hand. (Here come the dirty jokes...) Yet it's still detailed. Did you see the fighter mode pics? That thing is freaking beautiful! If they make enemy mechas and Mospeada mechas in this scale I'm gonna freaking wet myself.
