  1. Can anyone explain to me why HG can't use the valk designs? They're still selling valk toys. Doesn't that mean they have the US rights to the design?
  2. HD is wide-screen. I can't remember, is the original film widescreen?
  3. I dunno, I've seen her in person and I agree that she looks insanely young. What is she now, 42?
  4. Doesn't look like any particular valk to me.
  5. I'm trying to upload a 900KB image (max upoad is 10MB). It just hangs forever. Am I the only one having trouble?
  6. Google search for central anime and macross 7. I think I grabbed it from a.scarywater.net. Macross 7 starts off weakly, and the first song gets annoying, but after a few episodes the show gets really good, and the music is awesome.
  7. That's an extremely cool idea. I'd also think a pinpoint-barrier tip would confer some significant armor piercing ability a la the Daedalus attack. My only concern would be how to make it work in a toy. You gotta think of the merchandising! What's really cool about this idea is that you could take someone out of battle without killing them. If you only have power for one more jump, and you use it to escape a missile volley, then you're out of the fight. Me likey! Hey, wait. What about folding missles?
  8. I'm guessing it's just a very rough, conceptual sculpt. No sane person or company would offer that as a final design.
  9. That page isn't responding, but from Jenius' description, I think I remember them. Are these new? Would I be a pest if I asked for another link?
  10. Pics or links please? I'm not familiar with that one.
  11. He's only credited as animator for Gunbuster. I wish they kept ol' Mikimoto around for this one. I can't really take anything seriously as Macross without his beautiful designs.
  12. So about that Fire Bomber concert. The first I heard about it was a week ago when someone said it was sold out. How does one hear about these things ahead of time? If I had known about it earlier, and had been able to get tickets, I would be in Japan right now.
  13. That was the Blind Master, if my memory is correct. Man, Mark Walberg as Duke? I don't have anything against Marky Mark, but he is totally wrong for Duke.
  14. What, this Nani guy thinks he can second-guess Yamato? Infidel! Let's lynch him!
  15. Do cell phones fall under the category of electronics? If so, I have a question. I want an awesome internet cell phone. One that gets 3G internet, as well as wi-fi, has a fairly big screen, and (if it exists) has a Flash-enabled browser. The iPhone has neither Flash nor 3G capability. Does the phone of my dreams exist? I've found some that come close, but I can't figure out if they have Flash.
  16. 1/18 is Microman scale, and GI Joe: RAH scale. It's about 3 3/4" tall. I think the tiny Gakkens were smaller.
  17. Orgun was released in '91, so it's not technically eighties, but it's still old-school. I just looked up Angel Cop; you're right, its first episode was released in '89. I didn't know it was that old!
  18. The only others I can think of are Voltron (giant combining Tigers are mecha too, I guess) and Dangaioh (which really needs an unbutchered US release).
  19. Watching the video has convinced me that I need to pick up Yotoden, and maybe MD Geist.
  20. Whoa, awesome. That's the first I've ever seen of some of those shows.
  21. I think when you call something a rip-off, you're making a value judgment. You're saying that all of it's features are stolen, and it doesn't have any original, quality content. I do think Mospeada lifted a lot from Macross: fighting aliens, transforming airplanes, an idol singer, etc. But I forgive Mospeada for any theft because it has TRANSFORMING MOTORCYCLES. And the Legioss and Tread are wonderful designs, as well as the Inbit. Hell, if Mospeada hadn't stolen transforming robots and alien invaders from Macross, I wouldn't like it so much.
  22. I thought the deal with Toynami was that what we see or hear about at cons means nothing. We saw these fastpack over a year ago, didn't we?
  23. Old-ass thread. I think there was another, longer music preference thread too. Yay for 80's synth, new wave, and british electronic music. My favorites growing up were: OMD Erasure New Order Depeche Mode A-ha Pet Shop Boys Thompson Twins The Cure Def Leppard Poison Belinda Carlisle Billy Idol Chicago Roxette Taylor Dane As for more modern stuff I like: Garbage Foo Fighters Linkin Park Gwen Stefani/No Doubt Moods: Original trilogy Star Wars ST Braveheart ST Enya Neverending Story ST Black Aria And of Course Anime & Video Games: FF3 Chrono Trigger Secret of Mana Macross Macross 7 (insanely good) Tenchi Muyo
  24. That's exactly what I thought. Not that I play those... Weird. Finally, a Megazone 23 game, in the year 2007...but it's a dating sim...and it's 2D...and it's on the PS3.
  25. Could this be the OAV pictured before maps?
