  1. See, this is a how a real fan reacts when other fans are disappointed in a toy. Not with ridicule and complaints about complaints, but with comisseration and empathy.
  2. Thanks for that. Especially what you said about people who like parts-formers! Man, as much as I love the new 1/60, the 1/48 really has the best proportions and sculpt overall, except for the wide canopy and low shoulders in fighter mode (and of course the tiny hands). The new 1/60 lacks those eyesores, but also lacks the 1/48 gracefully sleek nose and canopy profile. My perfect valk toy would be have the 1/48's sculpt and proportions, but the 1/60's size, backpack, lower legs, hands, thinner canopy, and higher-stowed shoulders in fighter mode. Except for the girly hands, the 1/48 definitely looks the most bad-ass in battroid mode. Look at that big, strong chest! *swoons* I'm a robosexual.
  3. Damn. Nice. Meh, it's not really more complex than anything else in a transforming toy.
  4. Oh, I see. You want it to transform a certain way...the right way. I personally don't give a damn how it transforms (no parts-forming!), as long as it looks right in both modes. Hence my post about "finding a way" to make the fins fit. If you've ever seen the Toynami Legioss, you know how they figured that one out. A hinge at the base of the fin allows it to be canted or vertical, so it can fold right down into the arm, still leaving room for the elbow joint and hand. And although some parts of the Toynami Legioss were prone to breakage, the tail fin hinge wasn't. So I'd consider the canted fin problem solved. Yeah, exactly what I was thinking.
  5. Yep, you nailed it. If it folds down and then maybe slides in a bit, it will fit. Really? The fin looks so skinny, and the length is not longer than the lower leg.
  6. It could fold. Next? Edit: Checked the lineart and no, the lower legs aren't smaller than the fins. They can fit.
  7. I was just looking at my new 1/60 VF-1. The little hinge on the leg fins are so tiny. If Yamato can make a tiny hinge on that leg fin, Bandai can make one for the VF-25's tailfins. This parts-forming crap is total BS.
  8. It might help if you swung a medallion while saying that. For what they charge for 1/60 toys with bad shoulders, they sure better find away to make big tail fins to match the line art.
  9. Lately I've been on a glam rock/glam metal kick and have been listening to a lot of Van Halen and Journey. Also various other bands like Ratt, Whitesnake, and Warrant, but I only really like the popular songs. I'm not really a die hard. I've always really liked Def Leppard and Poison, only lately have I expanded to the other artists. Growing up I loved euro-synth pop like Erasure, A-ha, Pet Shop Boys, Depeche Mode, New Order, OMD, and similar groups. I'm surprised how many people say they like Joy Division but don't mention New Order.
  10. I think both fighters have different pros and cons, but I favor the 1/60. In profile, the 1/48 fighter has a nicer/sleeker looking nose and canopy, but the shoulders hang way too low. From a front schematic view, the 1/48 also has a really wide canopy. So it depends on what things bother you or excite you more. For me, the 1/60's humped canopy doesn't bother me as much as the 1/48's issues.
  11. Are you serious? The poses may be awesome, but Shin needs to turn on the damn lights! And remove the clutter in the background. I'm not saying this to dis' Shin's pics, but to question your sanity.
  12. Guys, let's not forget how cool the CM Tread looks. I thought the CM Legioss was hideous, but most of us agreed that the Tread looked nice. See, I demand perfect transformation, but we shouldn't have to fight. You should be able to buy line art perfect, non-transformable toys, and I should be able to buy perfect-transformation toys with no parts swapping. I just don't think dicking around halfway with parts swapping is the answer -- go balls-deep, whole-toy-swapping (as in a different toy with each mode), or full-on, no B.S. perfect transformation. A "transformable" toy with parts swapping pleases nobody. Two other points: * The Tread is easily doable without parts swapping, except for the connecting boom, which is just way too long to possibly retract. * I think the Mospeada toys that are PT look great, so I don't get the argument that PT makes them look bad.
  13. More cushion for the pushin'.
  14. Thunder-thighs.
  15. Stop reading web forums if you're gonna bitch so much about bitching.
  16. It's the ultimate in luxury, innit? We have indoor plumbing and powerful handhelds, might as well revel in it before civilization crashes, right? F*ck, I crank up the AC while I'm at it. DQ4 is the only I didn't get to play as a kid. I owned DW1 and rented 2 and 3. Still, I'm so sick of menu combat and random encounters. Though I did like DQ8. Where the heck is DQ9 though, that's what I want to know?
  17. Yeah, for $50 let's get some PT at least. Otherwise it's glorified gashapon.
  18. I think the issue is that the shoulder-base hinge offers no resistance when one is trying to move the actual shoulder, and it just floats freely. If it just snapped into place or something it would be so much better, especially considering that posing the arms puts stress on the unsupported shoulder hinge. And honestly, that hinge doesn't make a big difference in arm poses, in my experience. EDIT: I still love the f*ck outta my 1/60 v2 VF-1, and this is a minor issue. It's just that the toy is so damn close to perfection, you know?
  19. Yep! The sad part is, they already figured this out on the 1/48. It would be great if they locked, and people who wanted to do extreme poses could just not lock them. I wonder if it would be too hard for Yamato to add a lock to the design. Yamato and their stupid shoulders.
  20. No it's not. I'm telling you the universe will come through for us if you just believe, damn it! I was just talking about the tail fin hinges, so there. Specifically, tell me why those won't work.
  21. FOR REAL. That was one of my favorites ever. Nothing beats playing with your friends. And the real time combat beats selecting "fight" from a menu any day.
  22. I wonder why. Why are those hinges so fragile when the tail fins hinge on the Toynami 1/100 aren't. I mean, there's a pretty big bulge on the bottom of those VF-25 tail fins -- perfect place for a hinge.
  23. I'd rather have a slightly incorrect valk with perfect transformation. I'm looking at the SHE kit trying to figure out the transformation...I wonder if it's even possible to push that canopy down without hitting some other mechanism required for transformation.
  24. I don't know why people are so willing to accept parts-formers. If some fan scratch built a PT VF-4 kit years ago, without a big budget or CAD, than Bandai damn well better be able to make a PT VF-4 toy.
  25. You'll probably see what's wrong with the shoulder hinge if you...LOOK AT IT. It's a super thin piece of plastic around a metal bar. Of course it's weak.
