It looks like the landing gear are the biggest problem here. I also want to see the lower legs up higher in fighter mode. I'm willing to forgive everything else. Translucent plastic for sensors would be nice, though. Isn't there enough room in the lower legs and nose for longer gear? I mean, that part of the nose with the cockpit doesn't fold, does it?

Hah, I was just there in August. Toys 'N Joys is like the toy stores I remember from the 80's, high shelves just packed with every type of toy. Aren't many stores like that any more. Also had the BC breakfast burrito! There are actually two nerd stores across the street. The one closer to BC Burritoes is more like a general nerd store with comics, role playing game stuff, and DVDs. The owner was really friendly. Down the street is another store with tons of 1/48 valkyries hanging from the ceiling, but the guy there was really unfriendly. I tried to chat him up about Macross and he wouldn't say more than two words to me...and I was the only customer in the store!

That way it won't be perceived as just Banday bashing. 1)The wing root looks really broken up in fighter mode. 2)Short landing gear. 3)Legs hang in fighter mode, leaving a big gap. Anything else?

I have a feeling that all these 1/100 valkyries with Yamato 1/60 counterparts will be perfect transformation, while all these 1/100 valks with Bandai 1/60 counterparts will be parts-formers. Thoughts?

Agreed. There are so many ways to make it work -- telescoping tailfin, folding tailfin, whatever. It's beyond doable. What's the SHE, 1/100? If so, Yamato can do it at 1/60 (now retconned to be even bigger!), and do it with landing gear.
