    On the flip side of this, how many fans are we missing out on that would eventually become addicts and spend obscene amounts on Macross stuff? (As we are prone to do here) I continue to recommend Macross DYRL and Macross Frontier to anime fans... many conversations end up with "Is it on CrunchyRoll streaming? No? Then nevermind" It's a very difficult situation for potential new fans in the States.

    Tiny text and pictures like the below don't show up well. Watercolor, Pencil line art, Small text, and Abstract coloring are not the friends of low rez LCD screens. Mac 7 albums seem to have a habit of scrawling text all over the art. Most SDFM Macross albums have Minmay, therefore Mikimoto, therefore usually watercolor. (I should be posting suggested album covers, not bad examples of em, sorry for the derail) Anyway, good excuse to post Sivil. She might not be my fav Macross character, but I don't know anybody that "enjoys" music more than her.

    Thank you. We have been getting way to much of the "Blame the girl" around here. Minmay "Leading on" (while not even physically present, and not knowing he is dating anyone) vs Hikaru straight up going out with Misa and sneaking around with Minmay. Same old story: Everything is automatically the girl's fault, because dudes can evidently do no wrong in a relationship. "Leading on": Also known as she didn't automatically put out as soon as some dude expressed minor interest. Hikaru seeing two girls at once isn't "Leading on", because he is a guy. Welcome to the world today: Girl unsure about who she wants to date: Self centered conniving bitch. Guy unsure about who he wants to date, so he dates both and lies about it: One of those women were leading him on! How dare they use feminine wiles on him!

    Yeah I haven't put much thought into how Zentran clones "emerge" until recently. Almost no info on this or the possibility of DNA splices instead of straight up human clones. But judging by the reaction to just seeing Komilia makes me think a quick forced aging (and maybe a basic skills memory implant) was done for new clones still in the tube.... or they are just built up from raw DNA into an adult body. I can't imagine a Zentran infant clone being cared for in a fleet setting. Effing nightmare that would be. Britai going "Catch!" comes to mind, never mind the diapers. If it was "created" as an infant then it would have to be cared for by a VERY complex robot that would have been more complex and delicate than any of the very rare irreplaceable and unrepairable combat units. (Glaug/Q Rau) Very well could be! Might be a more complex operation and maybe require new equipment instead of just feeding Zentran clone vats sampled full human DNA.... But maybe the Zentran clone machines already recombines stored strains? They would definitely recombine DNA if there was genetic risk of inbreeding... But if you immediately shipped the clone or the original off to a colony/immigration ship, there wouldn't be any genetic risk of inbreeding. They just would never meet each other. Solves the social problems too. Still, even a recombined DNA clone could come out remarkably looking like Minmay if she had part of her genetics. Well, thanks for entertaining my conjectures!

Kawamori said he deliberately put in two Minmays in the Megaroad-01 launch scenes. He later stated that (The) Minmay left on Megaroad-01. Yep. This isn't conflicting with the clone hypothesis. It's a UN Spacy conspiracy!!! *puts on tinfoil hat and gets Nora on the phone* And the person directly responsible for freeing an entire race and stopping a war and changing society with her art would not be considered exceptional? I don't think they would undervalue people with artistic skill and only clone more combat soldiers when genetic survival of the human race was the major concern.

    FlashBack 2012 conjecture.... CLONES! So it's stated that after Space war I humans used some Zentradi cloning technology to re-establish their population (program in effect May 2010 till 2030), and then spread out establishing colonies. Personally I would assume that clones & the originals would usually separate for long term genetic purposes and to avoid the weird factor; one would get on a colony ship, one would stay, ect. Also, Zentradi don't know what a baby is, at all. If the cloning machines popped out babies, that wouldn't be battle efficient, and if it did produce babies, they wouldn't have freaked out from just seeing Komilia. (They would have assumed she was just freshly taken out of the machine, not the deculcha story of squeezed out from a person) So, the clone machines likely produce somewhat capable young adults. So, is this actually a scene of younger clone Minmay (#2) watching older Minmay leave on the Megaroad-01 ??? Younger (clone?) Minmay watching Megaroad-01 launch: Older somber Minmay waving to Earth (and her clone she leaves behind?) as she leaves on Megaroad-01 I would normally think it would be like a nostalgia scene similar to old memory shot, and younger isn't really there; but when the hell would Minmay had experience watching a ship that big launch, from outside? Yes, they show memory shots of young Minmay (with M sweater, jeans, brown coat over that when outside) arguing with parents, getting ready to go to Macross island and SDF-1... But that is not the same Minmay actually there outside watching MR-01 launch, wearing completely different clothes (white trench, red scarf, dark skirt) While big hat older Minmay waves from the MR-01 window Nope, I think people on the Megaroad-01 may very well have had the choice to be cloned and have the clone live on Earth before they left. Or vice versa. Clone Minmay seems kinda subdued, wandering alone not with the crowd.

    Anything that is killing you too fast, be in Fighter mode and play defensively. That counts for every boss fight. Gerwalk is great for mopping up all the cannon fodder you see early game; but when things get serious, be in Fighter mode. Gerwalk is a sitting duck if you are out gunned. It just can't dodge fast enough. It's east to get spoiled early game hovering and decimating easy stuff with it. And yeah, Reaction missiles in a VF-0 Phoenix or VF-1S Skull squadron make that fight go alot easier.

    This was on the MW Facebook, they gave away volumes 1 and 5 of Macross First, and somebody named Mandy Amano drew the name and said it on a video. She had lots of Macross stuff (mainly old school), a Minmay shirt, pleather jeans, and evidently enjoys shaking her hips while drawing names. I approve of all these things. I have no idea if she has any further involvement in the fan community. If we had a front page on this website, she might have been on it. But we don't have a front page. I'm pretty sure about that.

    Bad head tilt there in the first pic. The angle made her left eye look strange with the bangs over it. But that's the photographers fault, not the cosplayer. She looks very nice, good for her! (But it's light pink and blueish white, not purple / purple, but hell, maybe she was going for a color theme)

    What's killing you? Beams or missiles? Sometimes during the tough parts you just have to stay in jet form and play defensive and keep on the move. Pop a few shots, and boost away again and stay hard to hit instead of trying to shoot continually with less mobility Gerwalk. Gerwalk dodging does not always cut it. Early game you can Gerwalk continually all the time against cannon fodder. Later on, it's just not an option when things can hit really hard or are very mobile. If I remember right, this boss is the first example of it. Chapter 8 spoiler Stay healed up with songs and kits, and be fast on the pin point barrier and anti-missile systems. It's not evident early game (since you can gerwalk everything early on), but they did a great job balancing the need for all three forms.

    ROFL nice one! So who actually sponsored the manga prizes anyway? Her? Or the website owners? Who ever it was, thanks for doing it. Nothing shows you are a rabid fan like cosplay, and she would likely make a great Minmay.

    Yeah I believe so. And of course with comments like this: I'm really not surprised if people either just hide that they are female or just not bother posting here. People aren't an "It", and I seriously doubt expressing willingness to have sex with another member is going to get you any points. Same here. (Well, other than loving Macross more than me.) But females, being human, can and definitely do love DYRL and Macross much the same as any other human being on the planet. Strange concept I know. Personally I would like to hear more from her, and like to see more photos of her collection if she has any rare stuff just as I would any other person the loves Minmay, because they have good taste.

    I think he mentioned the orange/gold looked better with the off bluish grey of the armor packs and used that specifically instead of the traditional Ozma yellow. And yeah, artistically warm gold yellow / orange is a complementary color of that blueish slight green grey on the armor pack accessories (laser turrets and other flanges) Here is a good web based utility if you are working on color schemes and don't have a great instinctive aesthetic sense. http://colorschemedesigner.com/ Makes stuff look good when you have one color done and don't know what other shades of diff colors to use.

    Looks like the S head is much more reasonably sized than the bogus 3d renders they have been showing.

    I only learned that much from reading wm cheng's posts on metallics. He seems to have a instinctual knowledge based on long experience.
