  1. Electronics adventures continue. I melted some components today trying to connect a li/poly backpack , so I thought I would share. Note how the red wire is on the left of the JST cable in the Adafruit image, but it is on the right in the Ebay image. You cant just flip it because the JST has a track. So, not thinking it could possible be reversed, I plugged it in along the track, and my poor little backpack started to smoke and melt. Fortunately, it didnt hurt the Trinket.

    Hi-Metal R

I'll take an HMR blue Spartan, but ONLY if it has tampo of the anime girl on the chest.
  3. Take two: No pain, no gain. I should have thought it through more. This time around, I laid some clear resin to create a window at the edge of the wing. I think this would work well for non-transparent wings as well. I am planning to mask the warning lights with a millimeter of tape before priming, so the light can get out. Something to think about: Do I leave the warning lights completely unpainted with a gloss, clear paint them blue and white, or give a single light layer of paint without primer, which should still allow most of the light out.
  4. 20% off at Shapeways. Took advantage to finally order Mac Plus items.
  5. Bodozul (???) and Meltandi re-issues up for pre-order from Arcadia web shop. You will need a proxy service to order. http://arcadia.ac/
  6. Do we have a thread with all Macross related items on Shapeways? I've found a few by luck. Might be useful. A lot of the items are unsearchable.
  7. I am super glad you got one. Cant wait to see it with the Workroid.
  8. I need some advice. On my breadboard for the Yamato, I have around 20 Ground wires and 10 power wires that need to be combined to one pin each on the Trinket. Whats the best approach? All I can think of is twisting and soldering. Is there a better way to connect them?
  9. I'm no expert, but it does look more duck billed than the line art.
  10. Thanks. That's the tutorial I need.
  11. The Holy Counter This cockpit has received: 1x Holy!!! 1x Holy Cow 1x Holy Smokes and 1x Holy Grail, but that doesn't count.
  12. Holy smokes!!!!
  13. Unless you can expertly paint them, like some of these guys, leave them alone. It would be a sad shame to destroy a Takatoku. And the packaging is classic. You have a mint box there. I don't know if its Takani art, but its nice.
  14. My final piece arrived for the Yamato for leading the Trinket out of the body. So what do I do? Cut it into pieces of course. Because sometimes a micro-usb is not micro enough.
  15. Awesome! Just a simple build. Nothing special. But wait... I can add signal lights. And a motor for the propeller. And photo-etched parts. And... I am so psyched! My dad introduced me to my first models as a young teen in the 80's with the balsa wood Fokker aircraft. I built dozens of them. They are the type with ribs and you spread the thin paper, then wet it so it stretches across the frame. They look great. I was already a Macross addict, but didn't know the connection. I have half a mind to build a balsa model instead.
  16. Amazing work. I dont even know how to use photoshop. Couple questions: - How do you test for the parts clearance and fit in transformation? Does your software animate the movements? - How many separate parts does this have right now? Best of luck getting through successfully.
  17. Planning to build the Fokker D.VII Albatros single-seater. Any comments from you WWI specialists if this is the right version flown by Roy and Hikaru? There was a two-seater, and an OAW version of the Fokker D.VII as well.
  18. See the toy section. Those are the original Takatoku Destroids. They are collectible, but not very expensive...around USD 100 a piece on Ebay. As far as a full set of die cast Destroid toys, they are the only game in town, in addition to the 1/100 Conversion kit. The Regult and Glaug were planned, but never made. They were also later sold as Matchbox Robotech toys (and Exo Squad), but at less (and less) quality. I never liked the mold or size. I am Destroid-less. See my signature.
  19. Cool. My next project is motorizing the Nautilus. I've put that off until I picked up more experience with wiring. The question is whether I use Arduino, or the old fashion way with the DPDT switch that you taught me. So maybe we can learn this together.
  20. Serious man-cave material. I'm blown away by this.
  21. NZEOD, I want a hi-res close up of that wired destroid!
  22. Okay, so I am off parallel. Can we mix led colors in series with one resistor, or should we keep reds alone , blues alone, etc., with a single resistor for each series? Does that have the same risk as the parallel circuit, if one burns out, the others get too much current?
  23. I had just been wondering about that Elysion. Nice paint. So many tiny details.
