  1. It's relatively easy. If you want tips for a project, be our guest. I've come to appreciate that electronics are incredibly stable. It's old school technology. If you follow instructions, it just works. Take arduino, it is rock solid and stable. I have been shocked over and over that it works. Its science, not art. Painting for example needs years of skill and experience. Science can't go wrong unless you screw it up.
  2. Photos?
  3. Mechtech, This shows details of the Gun Gauge. It seems he just drills holes.
  4. Wow, they just build their own form scratch. I can hardly mold a thing. Great talent Dobber. Hope you see it through!
  5. This is the most beautiful Yamato I have seen: http://www.gunjap.net/site/?p=165802
  6. Love the paint schemes! You have a unique style that matches well with the Leiji Matsumoto universe.
  7. Good to know.
  8. Not candy coated, but this guy goes to some extreme lengths to gt an amazingly deep finish on his cars. One day I will try it. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/perfect-paint/

    Bandai DX VF-31

Not going for the super parts. I have a fear of scratching the paint with them. I still have all my super parts and armor sealed for the 25s, although I would LOVE to use them. Are my concerns overblown?

    Macross figures

My dream which will never come true: SHFiguarts SDF Macross figures for EVERY character! AND in different dress versions...
  11. Thanks. My appreciation here: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/topic/44502-yamato-modeling-thread/
  12. NZEOD, Here is the Yamato sketch. Have at it. Lots of fun in there! Yamato_3_Guns_new.ino
  13. As Yamato was my first passion as a teensie weensie 8-yr old around 1980, I wanted to inaugurate a thread for everyone to share their Yamato models (That means you: Nyankodevice, Mechtech, Derex3592, Thom, et al.) This was a terribly long and painful, yet extremely fun project. I will detail the build further in the coming weeks. In summary I could not have got anywhere with it if not for Mechtech and NZEOD's patient advice. I hope you get a kick out of it.
  14. She lists a bit to port, but she is sea worthy. Enjoy.
  15. Udon soup break. I've been soldering for 5 hours. Tonight we know if she flies.
  16. Thanks guys. I'm shocked that my bad painting would get you to take on the Yamato. If Nyanko paints one, wow, that will be special.
  17. Lady M's protoculture spread midichlorians throughout the galaxy.

Yeah, guy figures are in low supply. We never even got a measly gashapon of Ozma!!!! I guess we can print a papercraft...
  21. A little enamel wash.
  22. And that character's name would be "Shoji" Ichijyo.

    Macross figures

Does Minmay count? I don't collect girl figures either, I collect Macross figures, which just happen to have a lot of girls! BTW, a few select figures with valks look great on display. I'm not doing the full Walkure, but got my SHF Freyja. She looks great and I like her well enough, although Delta didn't engender any passion from me.
  24. Its not a work of art, but got the paint and gloss done. Now the fun begins.
  25. Had some paint peel with Mr Hobby Primer Surfacer 1000. I am hand retouching as you can see, because I can't strip with all the wiring inside. I let it cure for 48 hours. So I either had some greasy thumbs, or I was too light with the primer based on the "before" picture.
