That's the idea. But in my Bandai 1/72, the gears wouldn't fit. Seems there is more space in the Hasegawa 1/72. I might try the 1/48 just to avoid the pain, but I really dont want that giant.

Well, if we can fit a motor in the valk, it would have to fit here in this 1/72. Seems the Hasegawa 1/72 and 1/48 have the same structure. But I've never built one. If anyone knows, I need 6mm clearance for the motor and the gear; More would be better. I would rather do a 1/72 than 1/48 if there is space. I also wonder if the circled part can be dremmeled away. Not sure what function it serves.

The final colors may be different than the display pieces. Seems to me that the Spartan was more pea-green at the Tamashii stand than the final shade.

Xigfrid, you have the rarest customs. This makes me want to do a motorized valk. Dorobou used the same gear idea from the Nautilus and applied it to the Tomcat. Any of you guys know if this might fit in the 1/48 or 1/72 VF-1 Hasegawa?

They sound young, but its great when your own kids know their Zentraedi. Well we hit a road block with my 12 year old, after loving Macross II, he absolutely hated and was bored to death by Macross Plus. Need a blood test to make sure he is really mine!

You nailed it! The 31 has short stubby wings! Try the mod with longer thicker wings like the 19; and try the same angle as either the 19 or 29, whichever looks better. I think that will fix it. Maybe we are used to a certain silhouette and the 31 threw us off.

How will you get the decal off? I have tried using Mark Setter and let it sit for a minute, but it didnt work on my model kit, much less a tampo printed toy.

Exactly. And although I find the delta wings on the 19 and 29 to be aesthetically beautiful, something about the 31's silhouette just doesn't sit right with me. Don't know what it is...

In my opinion, the 31A has better proportions than the 31. I have a feeling that the forward swept wings were an afterthought. What do you guys think?

No, I meant Humbrol clear, not paint. Nothing is available in my area, just what I can order for cheap.

I have been using Humbrol since I live in the ash end of space, and I cant get Tamiya primer or clear spray at reasonable prices (Shipping over USD 20 per can). I have not liked results from Vallejo Air top coats (It is really thick and hard to spray). And Future/Pledge here is dark brown. Any other options to recommend?

What is the difference between Humbrol clear and Tamiya clear coat? Are they interchangeable?
