Cool. I would like to try to bring out all those bumps on the Ohmu with preshades and post shades and panel washes after a base coat of color. After a good gloss coat on the base color of Nausicaa, I was able to do some acrylic colored washes that run through all the grooves in the sculpt.

Probably, but I dont need a yellow stripe and a blue stripe. But I will take an Icarus and VA-1SS Metal Siren for sure.

The 2J is a rare beauty. (I think Macross II is one of the best Macross shows ever. Everyone go watch the subbed uncut version now, or forever hold your peace!!!)

Yes the Kai sculpt is gorgeous. My problem with the figure is it doesn't have Miyazaki hands

Well, it was a challenge to hide the seem lines. It will need a lot of hand brush detailing. Lets see how I do.

Great episode! We do love to hear ourselves talk, but actually we love hearing other people's opinions more. Although I didnt like the way Delta went, it is good to hear what others liked about it and maybe re-calibrate before a rewatch. I did read an interesting interview with Kawamori where he says that he added the Windemarians after the producers suggested to give it more of a galactic scale fitting with Macross. Apparently it was going to be geared to fighter on fighter in a different way. Since I had no love for the Winemarians at all, Kawamori's version is the one I wish we had.

What I meant by "medium coat of gloss" is that I sprayed it just a little wet. Maybe I need to apply multiple thin layers and let them dry until i build up a strong glossy coat for the washes. Now I'm scared to death of the wet gloss coats people use. For now I gave her a new coat of color and she looks fine.

I have seen this when I try matte on mettalic. But this was actually with a gloss, not a matte coat. Maybe I flooded it? I dont know what I did. It didnt form till it dried.

I need some painting advice to correct a mishap. I got this white flash after adding a medium coat of gloss. (It may be from humidity or my skill level. I dont know...) I've masked it off. Can I add another light layer of color on top of that to correct it? Thanks.

Eye decal fit test looks good. These look about 10% too large, but I will take that over my neanderthal hand painting any day. The eyes are the most important and most difficult part of a figure. Without these decals, I would never even try it.

Got my panel lining on. The Humbrol Clear doesnt seem to give a strong gloss after two light coats, so the enamel wash seeps a bit. It either needs a lot more coats next time, or it just doesnt work. For my standards its okay.

Xigfrid, You're a Shapeways guru; What kind of metal composites do you think these guys are using for the weak joints? Or what's possible these days?
