  1. Jean is pretty much done. Next time, I think a pen would be better for panel lining, rather than the wash.
  2. I have an Iwata Neo, and I'm not that happy with it. I can't control spraying in small areas, due to splatter and congestion. Will the Iwata Eclipse HP-CS be better for me? I have 2 years experience.
  3. I love those anime paint schemes. Honestly, the guy is too good. He has a ton of stuff here. One day...
  4. Seems like a lot of trouble and expense for nothing. A normal airbrush is probably more economical and reliable in the long run.
  5. I noticed in your 2 frames that the color codes and tone of the SDF-1 matches the cityscape. I'm sure you can pull it off. I think that's what's lacking in other dioramas.
  6. What key frame background art are you basing this on? I've gone back to my old process for figure painting. I'm glossing everything before masking. And instead of masking fluid, blue poster tack doesn't peel the paint. The imperfect edges get hand paint touch ups at the end.
  7. Your paint job is a great upgrade for that thing. Your English is pretty great too. My first resin "kit" is primed! It was only 4 parts, but these things are tough... I wouldn't take on a larger kit without more practice.
  8. Amazing display. We need one by one close ups like that.
  9. My God, you break all the rules! My little Garfish submarine made it through some tricky wiring. Twenty lights in there.
  10. You're right. I didnt use a wet coat. I was trying to cloud the white base coat. And I am not sure how quickly I can build up layers safely with that approach. It's a matter of needing years of experience.
  11. Progress on my Garfish. Finished drilling and customizing for the lighting, and began pinning and putty. (Using Diluted White Putty, seems good). The final two halves wont get putty because fiber needs to be installed after painting in this case (typical sacrifices needed for wiring), so I have made them as perfect a fit as I can for final step of pinning and super glue. Nadia and Jean are back with a white base coat, after stripping and repriming. None the worse for wear, expect that I still dont know how to paint, as you can see (why do I get that rough grainy texture?). This time I plan to gloss the entire figures to avoid peeling problems during masking.
  12. Your circled ones look like trainers. The rest look like 25's and a Cateye, and there seems to be some type of odd shaped Monster at the stern. But too fuzzy to make anything out for sure. What do you see?
  13. Nice work Thom. Will that be visible once you close it?
  14. Looks like you guys are all ready to go. The Eye of Sauron looks great. Got an LED for it? Make sure catwoman doesnt eat the candy all at once
  15. How much does it weigh? Looks like 2-3 kg.

    Hi-Metal R

I hope those metal joints are black die-cast, not painted black, the paint will chip.
  17. I wonder if Forbes knows what their doing. Anime is NOT cool
  18. Same here. The floating tablet seems about 5cm wide. It would need a pretty big kit to swallow that, and still weigh only 250g.
  19. hee hee heee. That's cool. I want one!
  20. Is that a levitating valk?
  21. I couldnt intelligently say, but from a civilian's standpoint, seems to me that Destroids are mobile artillery designed to lay down heavy fire on the enemy and then move. They would be no good in hand to hand with a fast moving mobile force. However, the Destroids mobility seems good for quick re-positioning of heavy artillery in response to enemy heavy repositioning. They would demolish a normal tank group.
  22. Wow!!!
  23. Nice metalics!
