  1. Cool. You would think that Hasegawa would make more interesting PE.
  2. Hey Derex, Do you have the Bandai 1/72 Star Wars T65 X-Wing Fighter? I want to know the diameter of these nozzles, to see of the PE grills will fit in the Hasegawa VF-1.
  3. Ohhhh that rocks...
  4. Thanks Mechtech! Of course you got me into motors in the first place. Hope it comes together in the end. I'm sticking with the same motor. I found out that the noise is from the vibration rattling the plastic. I think once it's epoxied down it will improve. If you can believe it, the 5v Gizmoszone motors are too long for the space, plus I don't like their wobble.
  5. That would be awesome. Maybe Mechtech can do it in the 1/20 scale. I'm sure someone will make that thing fly like this:
  6. Got the engines going this week. And after I made such nice little light boxes for the landing gears, I managed to put the red and blue on the wrong side !!! I knew there was something fishy going on with those little things. There ain't no going back now... Edit: Going back to change them... Fortunately I was able to pop them off and switch them without splitting the leg.
  7. Pre-order up Color injected resin mold. Completed version ("partially painted") and kit. I wonder how hard it is to complete the kit. http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=FIGURE-037006&page=top http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=FIGURE-037007&page=top
  8. Ha ha, I asked him myself on his channel! I need some good engine sketches. I just blink them fast and alternate the color. No idea what's that "noise" he's talking about is. Nice Gun Unit of Heavy Eliminate Device. That thing is huge!
  9. Have no fear, the only weapons I used for target practice on my models would have been a suction cup bow and arrow and other indoor mayhem.
  10. I had an Iron foot back in the day. Back in 85 the local toy shop had all the Imai Macross kits and the Revel Rowboat heck ones. Along with all these. We just lapped them up, paper boy money spent as soon as we got it. And we built them beautiful back in the 80s, didn't we? I never used sandpaper or putty or anything. Just Xacto Knife and nasty Testors glue spilling everywhere. Then after hand painting the model, right out of the bottle without any solvents, I would eventually use it for target practice!
  11. We 80's Macross fans are ever optimistic. You young 'uns don't know what we went through.
  12. Macross Delta Sneak Peak Review: The new Delta movie is out and it is amazing! All the drawbacks from the convoluted TV series were corrected into a concisely plotted story-line, that also carries an emotional punch. Add to that the amazing music and action choreography, and Delta Walkure is easily one of the greatest Anime productions of all time. Macross will continue into the future
  13. Really nice paint scheme Herve! Which kit is that Thom?
  14. Awesome. Where were you when I needed you!
  15. Thanks Mechtech! Got the cockpit closed up. This is my take on the DeAgostini Falcon. It has 4x leds squished inside, including 3x RGB SMD Neopixels, chained on just one set of wires for space.
  16. Wow the market trick is fabulous. I've never done it, but people say you soak the yellowed parts in peroxide and put them in the sun a bit. Not sure how that would effect painted areas and decals though, so I never tried it.
  17. Makes me wanna cry with envy.
  18. More like partial Monsters. There are 1/4000 Monsters on Shapeways. Anyone try those?
  19. Will there be new photo etch for Attacker mode, or we use the same PE as Fortress?
  20. I got Jasmine Models cockpit photo etch for the cockpit lighting; I was hoping that the side panels would have holes in them for the light to go through, but they turned out to be solid and wont backlight. One option is to scan and print them on plastic sheet. I have scanned and printed on plastic sheets before, but the resolution is no-where-near good enough to capture that small detail. Another option is to scan and print them as decals on a lightbox.
  21. Paragrafix has amazing photo etch for lighting. They use backlit films instead of decals, and the photo etch is prepped for lighting. I wish someone would do this for the vf-1. This is for the Moebius model. http://www.paragrafix.biz/product_detail.asp?MainCat=Photoetch&SubCat=blank&PPartNum=PGX207 The amazing Viper on youtube was done with their stuff. I am dying to do this for my valk, but havent figured it out yet.
  22. 505th, Thanks so much. That's the nicest thing ever. But the fact is you can paint, and I cannot. So I add as much bling as possible so no one can tell!!!!

    Hi-Metal R

Please Bandai, anything other than another VF-1 repaint.
  24. Beautiful work. The paint, the weathering... everything. My goodness you got skills The shade of brown would make a nice color for a Destroid, what color did you use?
