  1. Looks like a large endeavor. Is it just a bust, or a full figure? I'm a big fan (of UC anyway), but I don't have every mobile suite memorized.
  2. You can do anything. I also have no electronics or computer skills. It takes some simple tutorials and some help from MW members. But you need a lot of love. Check out my step by step thread, and feel free to ask questions.
  3. Can you show us close ups of how the canopy fits from all angles. Maybe someone can help you out.
  4. Hilarious. Keep the 80s jokes coming. Gen Z members are now Googling, "What's a centerfold?"
  5. Thanks. I never thought I'd be a centerfold model... (Sorry, Dad joke).
  6. You're all good.
  7. I knew full well how sh***ity this was and ordered the MZero anyway. It was so cheap I couldn't resist. And heck no I am not going to rescribe that thing. I also have ulterior motives: this is the only 1/72 F-14, that I am aware of, with retractable wings (because motors). Question: If you could take the MZero decals and put them on a better 1/72 F-14 kit, what would it be?
  8. Those are the infamous raised panel lines. And I believe that the upper and lower fuselage will have part-fit issues as well.
  9. Weathering is something I've struggled with for years. The first problem is you seem to need a gloss coat about an inch thick to make a workable top coat. And that is really tough for me to do. Then, I started off with a six pack of AK Enamel washes. And they were really clumpy and dry right out of the bottle. I've tried filtering them, mixing them, everything, but no go, they just suck. Even sent video to the manufacturer and they told me they don't look right. I also got Winsor and Newton artists oils, which I also struggle to thin with all types of odorless mineral spirits. But I'm working on it and trying to figure it out one of these days.
  10. Thanks. My oil weathering is always rough. So I need to improve on my process.
  11. I meant is it rough to the touch after all that weathering?
  12. I have a question, when you guys weather with oils like that, is the surface rough, or still smooth like a base paint?
  13. Thanks for sharing Brett. I was totally unaware of that. Which issue is it? Many months back, a guy on FSM forum suggested I submit it online. So I did. But I never heard anything about it until you pointed it out. So Macross got a full page on FSM! How likely is that? Awesome dude!
  14. Hi William, My son wants to know which season you worked on and what you did?
  15. That's the only way to go for me. If I can't find eye decals decals, then I don't do the figure.
  16. I just got a Nail Laquer Shaker on Ebay that I highly recommend for your paints. It's the grey one with a pink label. I put my most problematic paint, Vallejo Air Gold, which has very thick pigment and never mixes well even with an agitator, and after a minute of shaking it came out finely mixed and smooth. I also put a Mr. Color Lacquer putty, which is always thick and gummy, and it came out silky smooth and very well hydrated.
  17. interesting. Go for it.
  18. Cool. Thanks.
  19. Now that I want to see. I'm imagining a 1/48 Battroid sitting cross-legged on the edge
  20. Thanks. That Scalemates is awesome. So based on their description, does this Revell version have the "new parts" from the metallic version that the original Imai doesn't have?
  21. Yes, but I wonder if the larger 1/60s like the VF-0 will fit. Is that a 1/60 or 1/72 die-cast they have loaded on it?
  22. I second that emotion. But I don't have an encyclopedic memory, someone remind me what that "Robotech" Sdf-1 is a repop of.
  23. Of course I collect 1/60 valks, but I assume this is not made for them.
  24. 500 grams is a lot for a hobby motor to lift. I don't collect die-cast, so I'm not worried about it needing to lift heavy weights. But it will be good to know its limits.
