  1. That's some nice Macross code!
  2. It's difficult to pull of a nice finish with such a detailed resin kit, it's not as easy as a snap-fit plastic model, and I do not envy you working on those canopies. I don't know how much previous experience you had to help you through it, but it looks great!.
  3. And that is a clean "photo" finish!
  4. Pretty cool. I always loved my fold-out map of Middle Earth that came with the novel back in the 80s. I spent more hours reading it than any real world map. I believe, if I remember correctly, Tolkien drew the original map by hand.
  5. To be honest, we are overseas and we watch WMT in a foreign language, partly as a language building exercise. Conan is highly recommended, it foreshadows all later Miyazaki films in one way or another. I am sure you can download it with subs somewhere.
  6. Purple lighting is good. Reminds me of Patlabor 2. Nice work! Which reminds me I do have a Bandai Ingram of my own for a future lighting project, plus a Pit Road police vehicle.
  7. @MechTech On the money as usual! This was a fun project with my 6-year old daughter, who is a huge Future Boy Conan fan, and a good little artist herself. Since Figma has not made a Lana figure, I took the plunge and made one for her to play with. All my kids are brought up on World Masterpiece Theater at this age, with shows like Conan, Heidi, Little Women, Anne, and Rascal locked and loaded on their TV. There are few things in life as precious as lounging on the couch with my daughter, watching Conan try to rescue Lana😍🥰 With this larger scale figure, it was easier to practice some airbrush shading techniques I learned from those amazing Spanish miniature painters on Youtube. For the dress, I picked four shades of red, from dark Hull Red to light Ferrari Red, and followed the zenithal highlighting as a guide, airbrushing darker shades first like a pre-shade, then building up towards the lighter shades for edge highlights. Hope you like it!
  8. Same here. She is meant to be pulled forward by her hand, in an active pose. But I agree with you, it might have been better if I had the legs in a more natural running pose.
  9. Good catch. But the outstretched arm is holding hands with someone while running.
  10. @pengbuzz Loving your work on that old SDF-1. I look forward to a clean toy look finish. @Bolt That spider bug is sooo cool. And a nice old fashioned sculpt too. While 3D printing is taking over, the old school sculpts still win out on style in my opinion. @electric indigo Very nice finish. You have mastered what I call the art of NOT-Painting, which is what I call a light, elegant, delicate style like yours. As for me, on my workbench is a 3D Figure I processed and posed for printing from an XPS file by a lovely designer on DeviantArt. This is my first attempt at a larger scale (10cm) figure to pair up with her Figma co-star. She is at zenithal highlighting stage. Can anyone guess which character she is? Hint: I started watching anime in the 70s.

    Macross figures

That new Minmay is from which company? To me it looks like it will be a high quality figure with a modern-style sculpt. But it doesn't have the 80s/Mikimoto style that I love.
  12. If you have seen files online you like, maybe a friend can 3D print the 2 ships for you.
  13. Someone had to do it. Now someone needs to make little figures on a campfire. And a masterpiece build, with the water and lighting.
  14. Glad it worked out. Seems like a simple factory mistake.
  15. That's too funny and too cool. Great creativity.
  16. Archaeologists will wonder about our cult of the legless pilot
  17. Thanks for sharing! I wonder how smooth those would print in resin, and if they would warp.
  18. You can get these 0.96 RGB LCD screens for Arduino for just a few bucks. However, I have not found an easy tutorial on how to load videos on these, but it is something I really want to figure out for my projects. These are what the Japanese modeler 6jirosdc, who is customizing the Hachette and the MaxFaxtory valks, is using for his screens (I actually recommended him to switch to these RGBs from B&W screens he was using, and unlike me he actually knows how to code).
  19. Ooh, nice finish! The red panel line really makes it stand out. Is that a real world plane? And the red panel line contains what?
  20. +1000 But that's just me. When a model moves or lights up, my heart skips a beat.
  21. Your first intake compared to your second intake shows a huge learning curve. This is exactly what I love about modeling. It's amazing what you can learn to do. It teaches me that if you're not pleased with your work, try again! And when I am pleased, I stop, I don't care what others think!!!
  22. Uhhhhh, I'm not putting my finger in there 🤪
