  1. It does look good to me. I'm not a line art fanatic.
  2. Whats the expected quality of the plastic going to be on this? Would someone familiar with this line give some thoughts? Good quality? Or cheap and flimsy?
  3. Beautiful bird. Beautiful color.

Thanks for the welcome.I usually avoid forums due to evil moderators and childish trolls. But as long as Macross folks are civil, newbies will stay on and contribute our experience with these toys.
  6. Arcadia is in a bad spot here. They have just rebranded and their first line of zero releases have issues. I wouldn't want to be in their shoes. This could hurt the future of their organization. If I put myself in their shoes, they can't openly acknowledge an issue because if the line fails it would be a huge financial blow. So they have two options to protect their company, 1) deny the problem until sales are underway and then offer a fix later; or 2) acknowledge the problem now and offer fixes to anyone with problems. If they just ignore the problem, unless its an isolated issue, a high failure rate will spell their doom.
  7. I will give you a million dollars if HLJ replaces such an expensive item. Their return policy is only skin deep.

I tried out mykombini. One issue was that the shopping basket was not secure, ie not https, and got a security warning. Anyone else worried about that? I did register since it does not involve any secure info.
  9. Could you explain further how you strengthen broken tabs or provide a link? Thanks.
  10. I just have to say that this is the greatest fan podcast of all time. Some stuff I love: - Off the cuff interviews with fans. - The fact that you refer to issues and page numbers of reference books. - Music and live music interludes. - Event coverage - Totally stupid jokes, mainly by Gubaba.
  11. It is great to have a shapeways fix, but I would still hate to have to cut the glued plastic tabs on a 300 dollar toy.
  12. I don't get it. There is already a shapeways fix for the new 0A? Seems quick. Or is this the same fix as for the old Yamato?
  13. Hope to hear more feedback on this issue from the forum before cancelling my 0S pre-order.
  14. I avoid HLJ at all costs.
  15. Someone needs to ask Tenjin. Anyway wouldn't all gray be boring?
  16. Hi there Valk. No I do not have a picture of it. I am beginning to think the kit I got around 1990 could only have been a Bandai 1/60 model kit, because it was easy to put together even for a complete beginner. The Bandai variable kit was available in 1990 right, with legs that peg on the nose cone? That's the key question. For some reason for the years around the release of Yamato's version 1 1/60, I always assumed that kit from 1990 was also by Yamato. I don't know why I thought this, since apparantly Yamato never made a 1/60 kit. I think its some kind of mind trick: Perhaps it was distributed by Toycom, and then when Yamato was distributed by Toycom and had the same parts swapping gimmick, I made a mental connection in my mind and thought my kit was also by Yamato. In 1990 I would not have known Bandai from Band Aid.
  17. Nice weathering job. I would love a Q Rau but haven't found one for my taste. 1/60 is too big and 1/144 is too small. I hope they make a 1/100 Hi Metal!!!

I think all of these announcements can happen successfuly for Bandai if they do them right without stepping on their own feet. For example, first mistake is not selling Regult with add-on missiles. You need to give mass market everything at once or they will end up shelf warmers. Macross is huge all over the world, europe, south america, china and USA. Even if its not licensed, Japan imports can cover all the production. Bandai has just never done Macross right and now they are discovering its a gold mine at the right price point and product mix. Un the past they would just keep reissuinf the 1S or 1J, and then complain that sales arent there. Now they have realized there is an appetite for variety in this name brand.

Looks like a Nosdeju... Could it be a Figuarts rather than HMR?

Some images of the Glaug show it needs a stand to support the arm weight. I sure hope they use a lighter weight die cast for the gun hands so no stand is required. The technology is there now to do lighter die cast. We dont need another Macross Quarter.
  22. I hope you will be covering MW 2015. Your coverage of MW 2014 was awe inspiring.
  23. The VF-2SS has always been a strange valk. I am not sure the design really works to allow a great toy. Reviews of the original Bandai model kit also show it had a lot of challenges dealing with the transformation between three modes through parts swapping. Never designed to be a toy I guess.
  24. I can see how it would be better to focus on Macross activities, unless a recommendation is really needed for something great. What does Save think of the new VF-2SS images? Will this thing hold together based on your experience with the kits it is based on?
  25. I couldn't get through second season of Aquarion. Shoji, why, why, why? I'm into anime for the story and passion, not large pecs. I am looking forward to Shirobako. Glad to hear another recommendation. I did enjoy well-scripted shows like Genshiken and Welcome to the NHK with strong character development.
