  1. Late to reply to this thread, but here are/were my thoughts when I first received my 1/48 VF-1A (Hikaru). Impressive box. Very beautiful and very light in weight. Rock solid and tight fighter mode. Very impressive transformation sequence. Hard to transform at first, but it got easier with practice. Small 1A head in battroid mode, relative to the wide chest plate. Stiff front landing gear doors. Very secure missile attachments to the wings (unlike the 1/60's, whose missiles often fell off or could not be put on properly). The thin upper arms in battroid did not bother me. Very impressive Gerwalk A-stance, mostly because of the above knee rotation point. Very posable in battroid and gerwalk modes. My only complaint is/was the difficulty in removing the intake covers with fingernails. When I received my 1/48 VF-1S (Roy), these additional thoughts occurred: The larger and very accurate 1S head made the battroid my favourite mode. The larger head no longer made the chest plate look as large (relatively). Despite many people hating the vertical seam down the head, I for one do not notice it at all, as the seam is pretty narrow to the point that it is not really visable (at least on my toy). I knew about the crooked skull symbol and loose cockpit before I got it, but they do not bother me, as I usually leave my VF-1S in battroid mode. Now, I am eagerly awaiting for my low-vis VF-1A and fast packs to arrive. I have definitely lost a lot of interest in the 1/60 line. I find that the 1/48 line to be superior in virtually every aspect. When I look at the 1/60 battroid and gerwalk modes now, they look obviously "cheaper" in quality(which they very much are financially). The 1/60 fighter mode however, still looks great relative to the 1/48.
  2. 1/72 = 1 1/60 = 5 with 1 more purchased but not yet in hand 1/48 = 2 with 1 more puchased but not yet in hand
  3. Can't give you exact numbers right now because the toys are in my parents' place (no room to display my toys in my current condo). According to memory, the 1/144 scale FIX is slightly taller than the MSIA. However, what is impressive is not the size, but the amount of panel lining and markings on the FIX. The FIX really looks like a painted model, while the Japanese MSIA (already with panel lining) looks like a plastic toy.
  4. I don't mean to sound offensive, but I have the Japanese MSIA Nu Gundam (which comes with individual separable fin funnels) and the FIX Figuration Nu Gundam (which comes with the full HWS attachements and individually separable fin funnels). The FIX figure is SO much better looking than the Japanese MSIA, which in turn is better than the North American MSIA figure. For those of you wanting to just spend money on ONE RX-93 Nu Gundam, pay the higher price just once and get the FIX version of the RX-93. In my opinion, you will not regret it.
  5. This is insane. Common sense dictates that I should not get this 1/48 VF-1S in Hikaru colours, because I have the VF-1A Hikaru and VF-1S Roy (in both 1/60 and 1/48 scale) already. But the growing valkaholic in me is telling me that this is the only red VF-1S toy there is, except for the old Bandai 1/72 HCM and 1/55 Strike Valkyrie from the 1980's. Gotta get it before its gone (like the old 1980 toys)...or else I'll regret it... Do I listen to common sense or valkalcoholism? Tough one.....

LOL. When will my spending on Macross products end? Since joining MW in 2001, I've spent a lot more money than I had ever imagined on toys based on a 20 year old cartoon. My wife is getting concerned, especially about WHERE I will be placing my current and upcoming products.
  7. Thans a lot!! My problem is solved.
  8. Wow. Starting fresh. What to do about the avatars? I had previously used the pre-made ones on MacrossWorld, but the choices now are all non-Macross related. Will we have access to the old pre-made avatars?
