  1. Backers of Haslab Star Saber are getting notification mails that they should check if their addresses are still correct wince shipping is close. If you backed the project via Hasbro Pulse you should check if your shipping address is still correct. 2. But the new MP Starscream alt mode looks like the cartoon: I think that was the main goal of the designer: Maximum toon accuracy in all modes. I’m sure they could do a real life F-15 if they want to. [edit:]
  3. While I think that spreading tax money around is one reason another one is probably available resources. If Lockheed has available resources for engineering and building planes but the NG workforce is blocked with other projects you might get your precious late. Which is an important point especially if the current generation of gear is approaching its EoL. Plus aircraft engineers probably don’t grow on trees especially when you are talking about defense related projects.
  4. Holiday Prime looks good. A nice divergence from the regular shtick. I would totally buy a Nemesis Prime version.
  5. I just noticed that, with the Metal Build Hi-Ni Gundam in hand, the Hyper Mega Bazooka Launcher will be ginormous. Not as big as the 150 Gerbera Straight but still massive:
  6. Thanks, I will try that. [edit:] Is there a way to will the old Tamashii Nations release calendar back into existence? After the redesign is seems unusable to me. Does Bandai not have enough money for a UI/UX designer? Also do Japanese smartphones scroll sideways for some reason? https://sp.tamashii.jp/item_schedule/
  7. Finally got my MB Hi-Nu and it is massive. He has so much more mass and presence that I probably have to change my display so he is not dominating it. The suit even dwarfs the Strike Freedom that is currently sitting next to it. Couple of thoughts: I don’t like how limited the head movement is. Maybe I’m overlooking some joint but with the high collar he can’t even look left and right properly. Attaching the Fin Funnels is a pain. I wonder what solution Bandai would implement for a MB Nu Gundam (can’t be the one for the MG Ver. Ka). I also don’t understand why the effect parts for the beam sabers don’t fit into the beam rifle or the gun in his forearm. The tolerances are just a tiny bit off. Something has to be said about the general design of the Metal Build Hi-Nu. I was on the fence when it was first announced, derivating too much from the source material (and my beloved MG Ver. Ka kit). Having the piece in hand it is absolutely stunning. However there has to be said about the sculpt of the Ver. Ka. Katoki Hajime managed to marry the blocky, functional design of a war machine with the sleek roundness of a high performance Formula One car which makes it special. This is something that the Metal Build didn’t manage to capture.
  8. Been to the the airplane museum near Munich and they have the only remaining prototype of the X-31 on display:
  9. You right, I forgot that a lot of units are already allotted for the Japanese market (other than the Ghost Rider set). Personally, I just don’t see the value in the set. However I hope it gets funded for the people who backed it already. I might be salty because the next HasLab project is not G1 Overlord.
  10. I don’t know if this will be a success. I probably won’t buy it and I did order Star Saber. In my mind the value ist just not there for $180. This should have been a Commander Class release imho. Plus inflation is a real thing (at least in Europe) and Christmas is coming up so people probably will spend their money elsewhere
  11. I‘m aware of how the video game market in the US developed after the crash and how Nintendo dominated the market until the arrival of the Sega Genesis. In Europe it was probably similar. As I said knew someone who owned a NES and saw them in stores. However I grew up In a rural area so computers weren’t that present in the households (I got my first PC in 95). And I wasn’t particularly interested in gaming because most gaming systems I saw were arcade machines. My mom would never give me money to play and the prices were much too high to spend my scarce allowance on an experience that might be over in a couple of seconds (I tried it once or twice). I don’t know the exact prices but one game was expensive. Maybe 2 to 3 times the amount of my weekly allowance. Other places with arcades were Billard parlors but they were off limits since you had to be 18 or over to enter since they sold alcohol and people smoked in them. However that all changed when I brought back an original GameBoy from a trip to the states with my parents in 1990 I believe. I can still remember going into a ToysRus taking the little slips of paper for the system and Super Mario Land to the cash register and retrieving the console from the booth. The GameBoy was released later that year in Europe and suddenly all my friends had GameBoys too and I could trade games and talk to people about it. What really got it going was the release of the SNES in 92. The biggest grocery store in town had one unit on display were you could play Super Mario World. I would spend hours after school (or even during school hours) waiting for my chance to play the game. I had to have that system. To me it looked as good as any arcade game I‘ve ever seen at this point. (the NES never looked that good) And you could play it at home in color (only my grandma had a color TV; we still had a black and white one); imagine that. So I begged my mom to get me one for Christmas. It was an insane request to make. Never would my mom spend this much on a single present. The price of the system was three times the amount of all my Christmas gifts combined. But somehow my mom had pity with me and gave into my begging. So I was gifted an SNES as a combined birthday and Christmas gift from my whole family when the Super Mario All-Stars bundle came out in 93. My life was not the same afterwards. And again suddenly all the kids at school had one. You could buy the games in local stores and magazines were available covering what happened in the video game world, like the equivalent of the Nintendo Power. This was something I never noticed with the NES. So maybe I was too young for it or just not interested.
  12. I think the Jeremy Parish NES Works series is excellent. But I have a hard time paying attention since my systems as a child were the original GameBoy and the SNES and I have no nostalgia for the NES or any of its games. Maybe with the exception of Ice Climber and Xevious, games the mom of a friend played when I came over playing with his He Man toys.
  13. @no3Ljm, @anime52k8 I love the Ver. Ka design on the Char‘s Counterattack suits. I also like the green of the Psycho Frame. It gives a nice contrast to the yellow orange highlights. However I don’t like the transformation since it makes the Gundam look too elongated and the legs turn into sticks. Same with the Unicorn in Destroy mode. Anyhow, I don’t think a MB Nu Gundam will look like the Ver. Ka since the Hi-Nu doesn’t look anything like it.
  14. Neat. Now do a Metal Build Nu Gundam Bandai. In other news my first MB Hi-Nu is out for delivery after sitting in a warehouse for a while so I am excited.
  15. Apparently TFCon was this weekend and they had a 3rd Party panel. Here are the slides courtesy of TFW2005: https://news.tfw2005.com/2022/10/22/tfcon-chicago-2022-3rd-party-panel-slides-in-full-468486 For me there were not many new reveals. The highlight for me was FansToys with an Ultra Magnus with a inner Prime figure. Not 100% certain on the face sculpt but I am excited:
  16. Do 8+ old children count towards the "fandom" that might or might no want more Beast Wars toys?
  17. I think Getsuei pulled it off the best. Yukikaze will be probably a bit worse because of the extended size. Kaen could suffer a lot because he is probably the hips and lower torso. Seizan will probably be the same as Suiken here. Suiken’s issues are the additional (unwarranted) panels on the shoulders and "half" the train sticking off his back. Not a fan of the super busy look in bot mode. [edit:] I think combined mode will be the worst mode. Maybe one of the worst combiners since Power Core. Elbow looks super limited, the ratchets for up and down shoulders movement feel weak on my Shouki and I wonder if he will have a swivel in his biceps and outward shoulder movement. The leg’s also seem to have terrible knee movement. I wonder if there will be a add on set company like Crazy Devy that only ever releases sets for MPG Raiden.
  18. Yay, another opportunity to request a DX Chogokin VF-2SS and Macross Elysion.
  19. Is there a comparison image between the Metal Build and Chogokin Freedom Gundam? I would be particularly interested in a height comparison.
