OMG we all get the toys we want. This is madness!
-
Yeah but it was the same with the VF-171CF. I think they want to make sure that all the preorders will be fulfilled before they announce it on their website.

I don't know how badass Garrus Barakrian is but Garrus Vakarian is totally worth the asked price. Oh Garrus you are so awesome. *sigh*
-
Think about all the poor souls that lost their retirement fonds. Oh Internet you're so awesome! .
-
I was thinking the same but the Arcadia has skull and crossbones in its bow.
-
I wonder which attack is the stronger one? The Yamato or the Arcadia Attack?
-
That is a good question. Either it can't so you can let Ozma double-wield the GU-17A gun-pod or the invent some crazy angled gun-pod holder. The VF-25G has a special mount for the sniper rifle that is attached a the underside of the planes back and goes through the arms. Maybe Lucas Valkyrie has the same system with an angled attachment so that the gun-pod rests on the side of the fin. But I doubt that because then the handle of the gun-pod does not sit between the arms and it would be quite fragile and prone to breakage. As I said many times before. I would prefer a Ghost drone instead of a gun-pod. But maybe Bandai surprises us.

Yes it's mounted to the underside of the left arm as seen on this image. It should easily in fighter mode with landing gear out especially since the landing gear on the Renewals is longer. The radar fin sits in fighter mode where the gun-pods of the other VF-25s mount.

Well I said I would call them that based on my definition of the term. Everyone can do that for themselves. As I wrote in another thread if you see it very strict HLJ itself is a scalper. But that is a rather large stretch. Not that I don't order from them. I'm terribly scared by evilbay and NY has a good reputation among fellow forum members.
-
Well they got kinda creative with the mount with the VF-25G so maybe the mounting point will angle after it comes through the arms so it can rest besides the radar fin. In Gerwalk-mode the connection should then be pretty simple.

Yes it does: (courtesy to Toyark.com) That's kinda sad I'd rather would see an included Ghost. Especially since it's the same color then the one that came with Alto. One in the color of Lucas cheek marks would be appropriate.

Well I guess it works like this: NY has connections to a bunch of retailers in Japan that order all batches from Bandai directly. When they can order from Bandai they all (which includes NY) try to get as much stock as possible. Now the pre-order windows opens and NY offers their initial batch that they received from Bandai directly and close when all pre-order slots are filled. After the first wave they then contact all their retailers and ask who many they have available and offer a second batch of pre-orders for an increased price. This goes on until their suppliers doesn't have anymore secured pre-orders and thus NY can always deliver. But what has NY to do with Bandais Macross Frontier license?
-
Well if you think about it. If NY really buys up stock from Japanese retailers that don't export then they are basically scalpers as I would define it (buy huge chunks of items from the regular distribution places and sell them with a markup). They buy up stock to sell it with a markup. And the decrease the number of items that is available for the regular consumer base. The question is: Do the Japanese Macross fans suffer because of this? I.e. does the indented consumer base as it's defined by Bandai can't get the items they want because NY buys all the stuff.
-
Yes, when I have my VF-171CF in my hands I have no further worries about my RVF-25 order. The whole buzz about NY really started with this Valkyrie if I remember so when they can successfully manage this order I'm fine. Plus without numbers it's hard to tell if the run into a problem. But the don't seem to rely only on the items from Bandai directly so we don't have the same situation with the VF-171EX where several importers had to cancel their entire pre-orders. Not overly worried though because they seem to know what they do. But it's to early to praise them for being the last hope for us Gaijin.

Does anyone know how NY works internally? I just imagine that a bunch of Japanese are calling up their Valkyrie harvesters with smoking telephones to assure the can secure the number of items they list as their pre-order batch. And in my mind I see a 60s business room with rows of Japanese businessmen all suited up sitting on their desktops while calling and smoking and smoking and calling being 100% professional. I think I need professional help now. This kind of hallucination must be dangerous.

Hey jmx222 we all know that Luca fans are out there. I'm sure you don't need to stigmatize yourself on the Internet with this avatar. Man how does anime52k8 get away with this all the time. I need to put the same items in my interest field.

I think that depends on the wording in the license contract. We all suffer from what happened with HG back in the 80s. Maybe Bandai has full control over the license concerning transforming Valkyrie toys. You can write some crazy stuff into contracts even legally.

Hehehe, I'm with you master. Just got up and saw that I missed it again. Still it's getting rather expensive now. Managed to pre-order a VF-171CF for $170 with shipping. Calm blue ocean, calm blue ocean, calm blue ocean. *seesaw* At least the weather is nice...

Yes, the alarm is set. It will be a short night no doubt. And I envy you all that you have such shops near you all I have is a toy shop that is 30 miles away and only carries RiD Bumblebees.

Lupin please relax. I don't know how to make it more clear that that statement was not fully serious and I thought I made it clear by setting the "a$$hat" into quotation marks and adding a smiley at the and of the sentence. I know it is a stupid situation because you can not even vote with your wallets (and that is the only thing companies react to). But the berserk-pre-ordering behavior is not helping because it creates a vicious circle. I picked your statement up because it was a hyperbole of that situation. As I said previously no offence intended! And I meant it! I'm really sorry if I poked at a soft spot their. But talking crap about Hobbyfan is not helping because the retailers are the last one to blame about because they can only sell what Bandai gives to them. They are in a similar worse situation than we are because the can't serve their customers. And I would rather ordered from HLJ than any other proxy seller because their service is great. Again I'm sorry if I offended you

Well that is what I actually meant. If you plan to fulfill all your pre-orders than order what you can. I only pre-ordered one VF-171CF because I only want one. Hope I'm not being burnt bay NY.

Not to criticize you Lupin but I feel that you're kind of an "a$$hat" yourself. No offense though. I think a part of the pre-order madness (not exclusively) is that people just file in as many pre-order slots as they can just to be sure. And it gets worse and worse with every release and part of that is the release schedule of Bandai regarding the Macross Frontier items. If you want every release you have now three pre-orders pending. The YF-29 re-issue, the VF-171CF and the RVF-25. And non of us know how many units are available so maybe there will be units available at release date. It's a kind of self-fulfilling prophecy people see that items are rare and pre-ordering more units than they want resulting in smaller pre-order windows with every further release and no valve to release the tension because there are no actual releases. I don't know if I was extremely lucky but I was able to order a VF-25G from amiami at the release date. *shrug*
