I assume that was because some of the customers who preordered the YF-29 canceled their order. HLJ could have decided to abandon the DX line with the RVF-25 because of the preorder madness that gets worse with every release.

This looks great. I curious how shapeways parts feel like. Your head looks really smooth. Does it come this way or do you have to sand it down a lot? Just have experience with the HP DesignJet 3D printers. What I don't like are the sliver accents on the head. from the pictures it seems they are the only parts on the plane that have this color. Black or white accents would work much better imho but that are personal preferences I guess.

I thought the board members who can read Japanese said that in the magazine article Bandai announced the Packs for the CF version.

I thought the same thing about the color but then I guessed he is talking about the RVF-25 CF not Lucas plane.

Personally I don't understand MISB collector especially when the toy does not have a flip-top box. But just because I can't understand it doesn't imply that is a wrong way of collecting. What ever floats your boat I guess.

I'm sure your order is fine.

I'm glad if the Macross line was profitable for Yamato because that means that Arcadia will try to release more Macross stuff (or at least try to secure the molds and licenses). If Yamato really went bankrupt then it was due to the other toy lines. The discounts show that the shops that carried Yamato toys could not sell the batches that they ordered from Yamato. It is true that this is a problem for the shop not Yamato at first as you said. So I assume if shop XYZ (fictional numbers) ordered 50 units of Valkyrie ABC and could only sell it partially and they had to sell the rest at a discount. If the shop did not make a profit overall then it would make sense to me if they only ordered a smaller batch with the next release. That said almost all Macross 7 releases were on sale at some point. And I heard it several times on this very message board that people said they wait with their purchase until an item goes on sale. They where certain that the given toy would be available for discount at some point. I want to make clear that I don't blame anyone for this behavior! I don't know any sales data from Yamato or retailers but I get the impression that the Macross toys sold not as well as they expected. I don't know if it still was profitable. I'm hoping for the best.

I would grab my VF-25S Renewal and run for my life. Then sell the Valkyrie on ebay and buy a new home from the earnings.

Without knowing any internal details I could totally see why Yamato would lose money due to the Macross line. The single pieces are very expensive They were released in quick succession They produced even obscure Valkyries in obscure color schemes Yamato Macross toys are always available for huge discounts That are all indications that the market was flooded with Macross toys by Yamato resulting in less consumer interest in the products. This is even more concerning since the production runs are very small. As I said I don't have specific information on the sales, the total revenue and the operational profit of Yamato Toys but for me the bullet points above are indications that the Macross line might not be profitable. One problem is that you can get the wrong impression when you look at the collection of the MW members but that is only a small part of the picture. If you have more information that indicate that I'm wrong please share them because if the Macross line was profitable for Yamato it is almost certain that they will continue with Arcadia. That the first Arcadia offerings that showed up on HLJ are only figures and no transformable robots is a bad sign already.

True but it's still crazy.

One thing I don't like about the Detolfs are that the do a bad job keeping the dest outside. But the main reason is that I really like wood and hate the plastic wood imitate finish of most IKEA furniture with a passion. A few moth back someone posted a nice cabinet but that was like $2000 iirc which is a bit too expensive for me at the moment and I wanted something similar.

Just looking at a few picture of the VF-19 Blazer and Fire Valkyries and I recognized that the have no small fins on the lower legs unlike the YF-29 and the VF-19P. Do you think that Kawamori forgot to add them? I don't miss them but it strikes me as odd that they are not present on all derivatives of the YF-19 design (much like the canards).

As I stated before I'm not a huge fan of the Detolf cabinets. But after a bit of research I found this in the IKEA catalogue: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/40176342/#/00176344 Does anyone on the board know if this is a viable solution for displaying Valkyries? The windows look a little bit small on the image but that can be misleading. Size-wise it seems ok to me.
-
Well, it seems that preorders are already sold out at amiami and incredibly fast too. I read that preorders where up and as I looked the window was already closed. I hope the Bandai madness does not continue with the model kits now that the DX Chogokin Frontier line is almost finished.

Maybe toy collectors have to decide if the collect toys and put them into cheap cabinets or not to collect toys.

Well my favourite will always be Macross 7 because I was exposed to it as a teenager in the mid 90s. It was just the right show for the right mindset I guess. M7 has a lot of cool stuff in it. Tons of Valkyries (granted most designs are based on Plus) and a lot of tie ins from the original tv series. Plus it has an awesome J-Rock soundtrack so all your arguments are invalid! One Gamlin Kick to all you haters!

Glass! How does it work?

Time to call the insurance guy Kicker.

Looks kinda cool.

Thanks! Your custom looks really good. I guess you don't have spare Super and Armor Parts do you?

Did you paint the translucent bits in the nosecone or are they just catching the light of the flash? Hm do we ever see the head of the CF version of the VF-25?

So I got infected with the doom and gloom virus of the whole Yamato situation and ordered a VF19S to be my first and (hopefully for a long time) only Yamato Valkyrie so I have something to remember this toy company that had the guts to engineer and produce all those toys. So I'm thinking I should add a display stand to my Blazer Valkyrie because I like display stands. My first glance focused on the Yamato launch arm stands. How much are they nowadays? I saw one for $180 which seems ridiculous to me but as far as my understanding goes the VF-19 comes with adapters for this stand. The second option are the Yamato Mighty Block stands. But there I found only some at HLJ but the seem only able to let the Fighter rest loosely on a platform. So my question is if you can point me to some alternatives and/or the right version of the mighty block stand (or tell me if I'm wrong with my research ). Also some pictures of the VF-19S with different stands would be nice. Thanks in advance.

Well I found one here: http://plamoya.com/en/macross-perfect-trance-vf22s-sturmvogel-ii-gamlin-custom-1per60--p-21870.html Disclaimer: I never done business with them so be cautious and do some research before!!! Plus the price seems ridiculous even evilbay is cheaper.

Ok I bit the bullet and ordered a VF-19S Emerald Force after watching Veefs review and looked at some pictures over at anymoon.com. Thanks you two! I hope now that is really the end because otherwise I opened a can of worms that can't be closed again (I swear someday I will have the entire Valkyrie staff from Macross 7!). *sigh* Farewell Yamato of my youth.... ...wait something is not right...

I sure the ninja in this picture is just a decoy. The real ninja is the..... ....umbrella!
