Personally I don't like the IKEA style. Their stuff is usually way cheap and is designed well but after a while you notice the differences. the tolerances don't match, the way thinks are assembled, the quality of the construction, design solutions in general. The price difference has to be realized somewhere (besides the economy of scale). So IKEA stuff looks great but every time I look at my stuff I bought from them I notice this things and know they cannot be unnoticed. Of course I cannot live up to my own standards due to funding issues. So I'm stuck with a whole bunch of IKEA stuff and planning to buy more (I love the design of their Hemnes line). Oh, I'm so weak minded. Sometimes I get lucky to snag nice pieces for a good price from private sellers and shops that went out of business or redecorate their salesroom (that's where I got my current display cases). I feel that high-end collector toys should have a high end collector display piece. So what are a few hundred bucks when your collection exceeds this value many times. Oh well, someday I might have enough money to buy a nice cabinet and the YF-19 V4 that transforms on its own. Regarding my own collection: I'm out of room... ...but I'm thinking of getting stuff out of storage and rearrange my collection. It's like a touring exhibition in my own private museum.

As a rule of thumb for collectors a display cabinet should cost between 1-3 times the value of the collectibles stored inside (before tax).

And because it is not the same set it doesn't violate the webshop exclusive deal! Hope they find the same way around with the Armored Parts!

Does anyone has some info on the MP G2 Sideswipe? I have following questions: Will the spiky wheel things on the shoulders be removable? Does it come with stickers? On the pictures the G2 Autobot symbol seems to be a sticker. Also it seems to have an alternative deco with G1 symbol and neon green highlights. Has G2 Sideswipe a sword as accessory?- 16946 replies

It is good to hear that they changed the intake armor. Even if that means I really, really, really should have bought an Armor set for Alto.... Do they fit as nice as the intake armor for the Armored Messiah? On a second thought: could you mod the intake armor of the VF-25F in a way that they work like the Super Parts of the VF-25G? Like print a piece that is shaped like the one with the tab for the intake and screw it into Altos intake armor?

I guess I have to wait for a Kakizaki VF-1A from Arcadia. I'm actually glad that I didn't pulled the trigger on the Yamato DYRL Kakizaki custom. I still prefer the off-white tone of the Yamato ones. Maybe I should cancel my preorders and see if I could get a Skull Squadron from Yamato.

Sounds like the shady Tamashii Webshop business practices caught you. I know how you feel. I'm still kicking myself in the butt because I didn't ordered an Armored set for my Alto. And that I missed the BBTS sale.

Quoting Renato from the YF-19 thread: So will all the DYRL VF-1s from Arcadia will have the same bright white as the SDF:M releases from Yamato? On the pictures over at HLJ they still look off-white. Did someone saw the samples at the last exhibit?

On the YF-19 the top of the spine is less bulbous than on the VF-19 so in theory the gun-pod should sit more straight than on the Excalibur. I was just thinking if the gun-pod is the exact same than it was on the VF-19. From the pictures it looks like that the parts between the tip of the gun-pod and the collapsible stock bumps into the crotch plate not into the top of the spine. This would make the collapsible stock rather useless. One solution would be to place the attachment slot further back towards the hands so that the gun-pod doesn't bump into the crotch plate. The arms also look much like the one on the VF-19 so it could be that they take them from a VF-19 (as well as the gun-pod) for this prototype and that they change it for the final release... ...but then the gun-pod would aim directly into the fuselage of the plane... ...which makes it pretty much useless since it is the main weapon of the Valkyrie in Fighter-Mode as well... ...but a weapon that is angled downward is useless to... ....what a mess! Maybe a redesign of the gun-pod would help where it has an expandable grip that lowers the whole gun. Of course it should be designed in a way where it doesn't look to fragile and the landing gear has to be longer. I was thinking of a block that slides out of the main assembly of the gun so that the grip is fully covered between the arms and the slide out block sits between the main assembly and arms. Not sure if this is even possible and you have to probably sacrifice the removable magazine of the gun. I dunno I'm not a designer.

OMG did you see the gap in Fighter-Mode between the spine in Battroid and the main fuselage? It looks like the 1/72 *canceling preorder*. I don't see any indication that would prevent high-speed mode with the Super Parts equipped. I really don't like the idea of a lighter color of this thing. Especially if it is more white then the DYRL? Valkyries. I never imagined the YF-19 in that color. The prototype leans already more to white than the first 1/60 YF-19 does. I think the knee area is pronounced on the YF-19 because of the color contrast (black/dark gray against the beige) the exposed joints where also on the VF-19 but they don't stick out to me that much because my Excalibur has this nice blue color. I think it would blend in better if it where all in the color of the hull but the color difference give some nice highlights. Talking about the joints. Not sure about the sliding covers though. The color is also the reason why the intake lip stands out so much on the YF-19. On the VF-19 it is barely noticeable bu on the prototype it sticks out like a sore thumb. In my opinion this will be a better toy then the VF-19. Of course this is a biased prediction because this release is more complete (I doubt there will ever be Super Parts for the VF-19) and I like the wings and overall the more blocky design better. The YF-19 looks like a piece of military gear while the VF-19 looks like an anime superhero. Also with the matte finish it will blend in much better into my Yamato collection.

That is awesome. I didn't know about that. Granted I'm not a uber-fan. I'm gonna buy the Blu-Ray set just so I can watch this version. On topic. I'm sure the Star Trek reboot would resulted in different movies where they done by the team that is now making the new Star Wars trilogy.

And I like the color of the tinted canopy. After all these pictures of the new YF-19 I still like the tail fin design of the old 1/60 YF-19 better. That panel that can slide up is great. On the other hand maybe the couldn't make the tail fins movable for high speed mode and slide on a small panel.

Does that mean I can buy someday a Blu-Ray set without all the changes and added scenes Lucas included after the theatrical release? I have the unaltered OT on VHS (those remastered tapes without the extra scenes that where added for the re-screening in forefront of the prequels). I would love to have those in 1080p. On topic: yeah Abrams can screw it up but without any trailers images from the set or even glimpses of the script I cannot tell. I don't have a opinion on this topic. But I sure will have one after I watched the movies in the cinema. I'm sure they won't abandon the space opera concept and the Lightsaber fights so there is something to enjoy and look forward. Hopefully there is a purple Lightsaber in the movies because I really want one of those FX saber replicas in purple.

I was kidding. -.- Well, time to work on my English skills.

The Private Warehouse makes it more expensive actually. Every time I create a order I browse through the Robot Damashii/Figuarts/Sales sections of hlj to see if I can add anything to the order. Well played hlj, well played. Hm I wonder when the next Quarter sale is due. I need to snatch one of those before they disappear. Hopefully I can combine them with something because shipping will be very expensive for the Quarter alone.

Yeah but he decided to take the bullet. Alto just sits there and without any doubts with zero hours in Macross 30 I can certainly tell that with Leon it is the same. Yay prejudice! \o/
-
Also this plane was piloted by Leon who is a totally different, metrosexual lad. *sigh* Oh Roy, where are you in times of need.
-
Macross R is Macross the Ride correct?
-
Lucky you! My VF-25G had loose hip joints right out of the box. He can still hold his pose spying through his sniper pose as seen on the box art.

Yeah it seems that the parts with the hard points area easily swappable. What could that mean? Here the swappable parts would make more sense than on the VF-171 since they are more pronounced and clearly visible in Battroid-Mode. If this means that Bandai has plans to release add-on sets I would embrace the swappable parts. On the other hand Bandai should include all the extras from the beginning. IIRC on the first renders/prototype of the VF-171 there where also hard points included so we could see that happen again with the YF-30.

Looking at the image I really like how the arm transforms. It is similar to the YF-21 as far as I can tell. Some differences: the housing for the hands seem to fold rather seamlessly into the lower legs parts of the underside of the wings fold around the forearm like the YF-21 it has panels that cover parts of the arm. In the case of the YF-30 it seems to cover the upper arm. the panel seems rather large. Hopefully the panel is not a floppy mess that dangles around in Gerwal-/Battroid-Mode. Regarding the hard points. The way the wing tips fold up against the main wing missiles will get in the way. So either the hard points are not usable in Battroid-Mode or the cannot fold flush against the main wings. I question this design choice. Not only prevents this point from fully utilizing the attachment point (as described) it also prevents a heavy workload like the MDE-Missiles. If the wing tip joint it loose this will automatically lead to a drooped wing because the way it was designed to fold up against the main wing. I don't know why the tips don't fold up against the upper side of the main wings. Maybe it was an oversight or Kawamori designed it without hard points in mind. So it will only be the small single missiles form the VF-171 on the outer hard points. Bummer. What I like are the attachment points on the forearms. That way you can have a missile launcher (like the cluster from the Nightmare Plus) and pointing it towards a threat. An imaginary threat because there was no sighting of the S.H.Monsterarts Vajra. The hard points on the stock YF-30 makes me wonder if they will include missiles with the toy or if they will come as an add-on set with modules for the weapon bay. Oh I so want a giant transformable beam gun for the YF-30. BFGs all the way!
-
Maybe we can arm the Chronos with the two big reaction missiles from the VF-171CF. I don't like the color of the gray hinge where the outer wings fold in. This should be white in my opinion.
-
I like the Battroid-Mode of the Cutlass. I have a soft spot for asymmetric mechs. The idea that the wings shield the canopy is also cool. The feet are a bit bulky and the head has too much of a cone-shape to my liking but overall I like it. I would love a VF-2SS. Why can't we have nice things?
