The Nintendo Wii Thread!!

Look at how long the PS2 has been out now, and it's only down to $169.99. You're going to be waiting a long long time for the Wii to get to $99, especially since Nintendo knows that the Wii is selling like crazy at it's current price. They have no reason to lower the price. -

I think people are finally catching on to the scalper's games. No one is really bidding on the MP Screamer's on eRape. All of the $90 and above items are Buy It Now and the only ones with bids I think are under $70. -

Still two left in Racine Wisconsin (as of 23:45 last night). I got one a few days ago, and another last night that's going to be a present for my son. -

Now that I got SS in my hands, I don't see the "weathering" that most are complaining about. My SS looks pretty damn clean right off the shelf. -

Was at Wally World tonight and found 5 MP Startscreams. I snagged one for myself, but I can look to see if any are left tomorrow if anyone wants one. -
The inside world of Robotech fans

I bought the Robotech game for around $5 (new) and I think it sucks. It's a very boring game. -

Does the 360 have many "kid friendly" games? All I see with PS3 and 360 is blood and guts type games, whereas the Wii has a lot more games for the younger generations (that are still fun for adults to play too). And what is it with people and this need for ultra high graphic games? Isn't playing a game mostly about game play? Graphics are secondary since the game needs to be fun first and foremost. -
The TRU here only has the 5-packs. I've only seen the single cards there once, and that was a long time ago (i.e. initial release). However, our Target usually has a good selection, and I happened to grab Fire Fly today.

How is that any different from the other game systems out there. They all end up with crap third party games at one point or another. -

I hated that part. I got so PO'd that I almost launched my Wiimote through the TV (of course it was at 1:00am and I was tired). I went back and played it again and beat that part easily. Z-targeting is the key in that one. You have to get ahead of the carriage and kill that damn bird before it drops a bomb on the last turn. I don't get to play it often but I'm looking for the third mirror piece now. -

Not so for me. I liked Zelda even more when it went 3D. Zelda was the only reason why I bought a N64. I just picked up Twilight Princess and I'm having fun with it. But you're right, it's all about game play. -

Only one suggestion: 6. Topic Bumping. "it may be because nobody in interested rather than people not seeing it." I'm pretty sure that "is" was the intended word to be used. Other than that, it's good to go. -

Amen to that. The entire G1 line should be redone since they don't have to worry about the original molds/toolings. Then just need to stay away from the ultra-gay gun modes and stick with vehicles and aircraft (or tanks and ships). -
That what I use. I don't own a DVD player since the PS2 already has the capabilities.

I think it might be time for me to hook up the surround system again. I'll get back at that b!tch downstairs yet!

Anyone notice any digital skipping? There were at least two instances where the movie froze for a second, and the screen went into one of those weird digital block modes. Got my $15 copy at Wally World.

According to that it looks like I'm part of the minority. The Wii has been our main system for a while now. We're all into it at my house. In fact, the only thing I've used my PS2 for is watching DVD's. -
Wally World had around 5-6 CC's and a few SS's. We bought the only Cobra Officer on the peg. They also had a variant Joe 5-pack with Roadblock positioned as if he was leaping through the air with his hand in such a position to imply that he was saying "SUCK IT!" Wish I had a picture of it, but the box was so beat up that I decided not to buy it (plus I've already got a Joe pack).

Speaking of Twilight Princess, Zelda is probably the second most popular series for Nintendo (with Mario being the first). This title rakes in a ton of cash for Nintendo, but they couldn't hire some voice over artists to give this game some extra depth? Something more than the random "HEEEEEEeeeyyyyy" that a few characters yell out, or the incoherent noises that some of the others make. The game is cool and all, but this was really disappointing. -

I might have to head out and get this if I can find it. The score should be a good listen. Also, I found a third CC BB in a TRU. Actually my son found it since he's a lot lower to the ground than I am. It was on the bottom shelf for some reason. He wanted to get it as a gift for his friend's birthday party. -

So far, I think the first release of the movie BB (the old beat up junker) is pure crap. The parts don't fit together in vehicle mode, the spring loaded front end always disengages itself and the entire front of the hood is forever tilted forward since it won't lock into place with the arm parts. The arms themselves don't stay put very well either. Robot mode is really floppy too. However, concept BB is a kick ass figure. Barricade kinda sucks too. Deluxe Brawl doesn't stay together at all (you move his arms and the ribs detach from the chest). -
Anyone aware of variant boxes (5-packs)? I was in Walmart last night and opened the box with Duke, Scarlett, etc. and I swear they were in a different order than the box I picked up. And Duke didn't have his Kevlar on in this box.

Stopped in Target today and snagged another concept BB. Now the kid is off my back, LOL. Southpaw, your business metaphor made me laugh. How true, how true.
