Yamato 1/60 VF-17 Nightmare Diamond Force
VF5SS replied to charger69's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Well that's what happens when you make an anime in 1982 about the state of technology in 2009 and then go back and make an anime in 2002 about the state of technology in 2008 based on what you did in 1982. Three levers are lame. Everyone knows it which is why the everything uses the DYRL style flip throttle now and forever. because it is awesome Also the VF-0 had a regular glass HUD which the proper VF-1 (DYRL fo' life) did not have. And it was the only Valkyrie to have an on screen vulnerability of having to be refueled at inopportune times. Plus the HUD just let it target and shoot missiles which all the Valkyries did anyways. continuity maintained -

I'm sorry the toy can't hear you over the sound of how uh-maze-ing it is. Stealth bros fo' life the justification for them was a pretty basic line about having Battroids to fight giants. There was nothing specific about how big. Valkyries and the VF-1 especially are supposed to be bigger than most Zentradi anyways. It's just Britai (and other random guys) who are bigger. you know what was so radical seeing DD's Sv-51 invade the Asuka II because it was a giant awesome -

Officially it's because the VF-0 and Sv-51 both use conventional jet engines which are larger than the VF-1's magic fusion engines. Valkyries are pretty all over the place in terms of size. Just like real fighter jets. -
but the 1/48 has kind of a terrible fighter mode. Yeah it's better than the Club-M kit but it's not as compact as the 1/60 toys.

sexy~ My only suggestion would be to let the shoulder engines rotate separately from the arms themselves to allow better articulation Given that my beautiful VF-17 has extra articulation just because I'm not worried

Yeah exactly. Although you don't need to extend the ankles on both quite that much. I keep the feet pretty deep into the ankles on mine most of the time. -

If you want the VF-19 to be roughly as tall as the VF-17 you can just leave the hips on the VF-19 unretracted or extend the locomotive knee joints a bit. Those parts are just there for aesthetics anyways. -
I meant with games that aren't specifically about jets with arms. Unless you want to spend a half hour all on Arrow Flash or Twinbee. Or talk about Mr. Heli no Daibouken and how Irem couldn't make an easy game to save their lives.

Gubaba knows I totally called it. I am a newtype.

here's that early alternate VF-0S with the "Phoenix" name I think this is just the english version of the original Newtype article that's somewhere on MW

Ok let's be honest here. There is absolutely nothing you can do to justify spending any amount of money on an import diecast and plastic toy of a character from a 1994 anime all about advertising J-pop. nothing~ -
He's had a different voice actor in just about every video game from SRW, to ACE, and even the Pachinko game.

I'm gonna guess they're just going to do what the basic line art shows so no hardpoints or optional gun pod. And even if the conformal missiles were removable, they'd be done in a typical tab on the missile that goes into a slot on the body. If they were really ambitious, they could have missile effect parts like the limited GBP-1S set :3 Should we start arguing whether or not the hands will be proprietary like the VF-17 and VF-22 or the more universal type like the VF-1, VF-11, and VF-19

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gundam_Sentinel "The series was never animated (although a short animated television commercial for a model kit was made) or released as a manga, but the mecha have been featured in various SD Gundam video games, such as SD Gundam G Generation F." I guessing it's like the commercial for the Formula Wars video game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mb58EOFVBM
