Fan opinion should never matter that much if you are trying to reboot a franchise. I think they had no confidence in the product and wished to wash their hands of it and this backlash was just a scapegoat.

It does cost a lot of cut the steel molds for the tooling. That's the biggest up front cost for any plastic figure.

... Yamato production runs are usually in the low thousands.

The VF-19 is simply a more revolutionary design than the VF-2SS. You can argue the little details but there's no denying the allure of the VF-19. The VF-2SS is one of the things that failed to captivate the general audience due to its inability to differentiate itself from the VF-1.

From what I understand, the polished is the same material just put in a tumbler to smooth it out a bit.

aMost of those secondary Valkyries were not unique units piloted by main characters. Even Isamu's VF-11B is the same one as all the other seen in the OVA. And quite frankly, it's a filler design. I mean I own both VF-11s but there's nothing to revere about it other than being a nice design and a great toy. Also you have to realize both Plus and 7 are nearly 20 years old now. Frontier has just come off of a recent TV series and two successful movies. There's more buzz for Frontier than any of the older shows and the new fans want the latest and greatest.

If you're talking about parts breaking out of box or being poorly designed they weaken, that's a design issue quality control is you don't get a robot with a giant smear of paint or two left arms out of the box

Just to add, they keep re-issuing the Tiger and Bunny figures but they sell out rather quickly each time.

The Tiger and Bunny SH Figuarts sold out very quickly as well.

I fully understand Bandai doesn't want to take risks on toys that are expensive to produce but I gotta say http://d.hatena.ne.jp/type97/20090228 Bandai promised an awful lot in the past. I'm glad they're bringing their A game to Frontier finally but I feel like some of the lackluster performance of the toys is partially their fault.

The seller can opt for a non-instant payment or refund the buyer since most of this is done with electronic money transfer like paypal. I think these flippers need to be reported.

Honestly Megazone 23 and Madox-01 aren't in the same league as Macross. Both exist to some extent because of Macross. Remember, there was over a million 1/55 Tatatoku VF-1s sold all thanks to Kawamori's hand in the design. Watanabe Giken who did the prototype of the toy used Kawamori's own hand built model as a base. Just check out episode 38 of the Veef Show where Renato talks about this stuff.

How about the perfect transformation VF-1 toys with my replacement shoulder hinges? I guarantee those parts are rubber mallet proof ( 'w') b I'm serious they are so great what the new parts part. I got videos to show how easy it is to transform now.

I think you of all people should know that they aren't the same line, my lord. http://mactama.com/mt/toy/macross/yamato/60_vf1_series/60_vf1_series_top.htm "Three form transformation" I believe. The Macross Zero 1/60 stuff started the "1/60 Perfect Transformation Macross Series" line Yeah it's the same company but even Bandai knows to rebrand your lines before you start again even in the same scale.

We'll have to see what the market can support. I don't know if Yamato wants to play chicken with the idea of re-doing a toy in the same line.
