Mike Toole and Neil Nadelman were tweeting about this yesterday. Mr. Nadelman retweeted this http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=30860&view=findpost&p=964116 and I tried getting confirmation but I guess I had to wait for ANN Mein kaiser...

I have, obviously. I mean it shows who checks out a thread at the bottom :3 But I think that's a bit much for me personally. If you're just doing it for the photos, one can always use some composite photo magic

Couldn't you just have one toy and transform it? I mean that's what they say it does on the package.

My point is, there's a much clearer transition between the VF-11 (or VF-1 really) to the VF-19 and VF-22 (and their respective prototypes). They both transform differently and have recognizably unique silhouettes in all three modes. The Metal Siren was too similar to its predecessors and only had a gimmicky super mode to distinguish itself from the other Valkyries in the OVA. Maybe Bandai had a hand in that decision to keep everything derivative as I know the designers who worked on Macross II are pretty versatile. Or it could just be a director's decision or something along those lines.
-
It's a VF-1 derivative too.

maybe people don't like blue and red robots I don't think you know what a supporting character is

He's the captain of a Macross ship. And he and Milia got an entire video game devoted to them (with Moaramia too~) Are you guys sure it's not just because they're supporting characters?
-
Well the two VF-19s were rather lackluster and the VF-1 came after Yamato had saturated the market.

You don't have to use the Gerwalk joint to pose the 1/60 VF-1's legs out if you just tilt the backplate a bit off where it locks in for Battroid mode.

I don't think Kaiyodo and Yamato's lower end products were really comparable to Bandai's Hi Metal VF-1. Their VF-1 was still 7000 yen MSRP. Kaiyodo's variable toy was an awful attempt at the subject and didn't play to the strengths of Revoltech while the GNU Dou was just a lost cause.

If that promotional diagram is anything to go by, the partial display may just be from the chest plate forward with part of the arm. Depending on how the whole thing breaks down, it might be hard to move pieces like huge wing sections inside a small venue. Most airplane museums are very spacious inside and have their main rooms on ground level, unlike a lot of convention centers. Sometimes they even hang F-20 Tigersharks from the ceiling.

I just find it rather incongruous to see several pictures of a physical object next to flat looking two dimensional artwork. Also not to implicate Anymoon of anymoon wrong doing, but there have been so many renditions of the Valkyries (especially the VF-1) in two dimensional form that I find it misleading to post just one unsourced (to a specific book) picture out of context. Between all the art books, model kits, and reference guides I could easily find at least four different official takes on the old VF-1 side view. I do appreciate the toy comparison pictures because it shows how different figures implemented different details, which looks tighter, etc. I feel like bringing in line art just has too much baggage attached to it. The huge arguments over show accuracy, anime magic, and the like are partially a result of these comparisons. I'm not saying the line art is useless, but again it's only a part of the character design.

Tune in March 17 for leiji Matsumoto's Ozuma

will this show have a sister? -
Sanjeev is always telling me he has pretty big balls but... Oh. He used the exact dimensions of the original part based on the spare hinge set I sent him.
-
I like your idea of comparing the toys but the line art doesn't need to be there.

I thought the turn around time was like ten days. Did you contact their customer service?

Yeah but you like Macross 7 so your opinion is clearly wrong.

The in game model has blank tailfins but the CG model on the poster has FB2012 markings minus the skulls.

Renato doesn't treat me like that ;w; he's a nice man who says nice things ps you used the wrong "you're" there >:3 how does that change the fact that the VF-4 now has a completely realized transformation? Even if it was finalized years later, I think we're safe to assume the FB2012 one is retroactively the same as the VF-X one. I want to give Kawamori the benefit of the doubt on making that call. And subsequent video games confirmed that it is the same even if they have to split hairs on the licensing. http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/models/she/she_vf4.htm Even the SHE kit was shown in FB2012 colors by default on the box.
