  1. Somebody was asking what the other paint schemes are and here's the two that aren't just stripe variations. The first three are just red, blue, or green stripes.
  2. http://www.taghobby.com/1-0/1-1/%E4%B8%8D%E6%96%B7%E6%9B%B4%E6%96%B0-2013%E5%B9%B411%E6%9C%881%E6%97%A5-3%E6%97%A5-tamashii-nation-2013-%E8%B6%85%E5%90%88%E9%87%91-%E5%B1%95%E5%93%81-%E8%B6%85%E5%90%88%E9%87%91/ just squint inside the circle
  3. Cross post from the toy forum. A blue VF-1 shows up flying in formation with Blue Jet and Harrier Robo in episode 29 of Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos :3
  4. I'm talking about the blue hued VF-1 on the left, fellas.
  5. Was watching another episode today and there's a straight up VF-1 cameo!
  6. It's quite UNCOUTH! In Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos, everyone on planet Cronos is a robot (even the human looking ones) and are mostly the same size save for some really large ones. They even had a Macross reference with little robots that collect empty cans!
  7. THEN VF-14 IS GONNA GET ALL THE CHICKS LIKE A GOBOT Edit: Actually I do have somewhat of a point to all this as people in robot fandom often act uncouth and call anything they do not like a Gobot as if it was an insult. However, I wish to demonstrate how easy it is to look upon once reviled products in a more positive light when you can see how a series like Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos takes the same toys used in Gobots and depicts them with a much more professional style and amazing art direction. Thus the media tie in breaks the previous stigma taken from the Hanna Barbera cartoon and reveals that yeah, Gobots were cool toys and they just needed a cool series to show them being awesome. Similarly, I think most people who are really into the VF-4 are more familiar with its depicting in various video games where it is allowed to show its stuff in all three modes rather than the barely 10 seconds of fighter mode it got in Flashback. Nothing helps a giant robot like the ability to see it in motion being awesome. The more you know.
  8. GOBOTS ARE AWESOME!
  9. The show has a really infuriating ending that makes it not worth the effort. The GI Joe levels of character survival don't help either.
  10. He designed both the VF-17 and VF-19 in Lego as well. Probably the Fz-109 too.
  11. When you're in fighter or Gerwalk mode it pops up if you switch to rapid launch missiles. Otherwise it stays down. The YF-29 does the same thing with its back cannons.
  12. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suCsM0t3jYE This is how it transforms.
  13. You can select either red, green, or blue stripes or the weird black with red stripes scheme.
  14. It's a really fun open world action game where you blast stuff but you need to use a translation guide ( http://red-shoulders.blogspot.com/2013/03/macross-30-translation-guide_2261.html) to understand how to do some of the missions and build and upgrade Valkyries.
  15. The transformation is kind of a combination of VF-4, VF-25, and Sv-51. It even explicitly has a rotating waist joint in Gerwalk and Battroid.

  17. http://twitpic.com/di0acq Hope Ozma doesn't mind.
  18. http://twitpic.com/dhr7o5 It's no use, Prowl.
  19. http://www.collectiondx.com/node/7000?page=1316 The VF-25 also transforms a lot like one of the early concepts for the VF-19. Just saiyan.
  20. it says "I got a dead soldier here! Get me another bullet!"
  21. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2013-09-25/former-idol-erina-mano-stars-in-multi-part-live-action-patlabor It's a sequel with a new cast.
  22. In a broad sense not really but in terms of the amount of cultural and technological progress it doesn't really fit nicely with the rest of Macross. And to be honest the only reason it gets any leeway the way you describe it is because it was set in the rather arbitrary year of 2092 whereas the last Macross series is in 2059 (or 2060 if you include Macross 30). So if at any point in the near future they do make a sequel that takes place close to or around then, Macross II is basically out of luck.
  23. No it really doesn't cost a fraction of a penny to make tiny bits of plastic. It costs however much money you need to buy the steel to cut for the injection molded plastic and then have it cut and then have it tested and retested and then have it approved by someone in charge and then put together and assembled inside a box in China and then shipped to Japan. And given the sheer number of differences between the previous VF-19 figures and this new YF-19, they probably had to create an entire new set of molds just to make this one toy. I honestly think what we're seeing is a massive shift in the market thanks to a lot of factors outside of Arcadia's control and I understand it's difficult to deal with but for toys of this quality something has to given. Even Hasbro and NECA won't be able to price fix forever.
