Because nobody cares. The Strike Valkyrie is superior in every way. And what the hell do you mean by "probably?" The first two didn't do that so why would the third one do it?
-
You could probably get all three originals pretty cheaply. I was able to get Southern Cross and Mospeada for about fifty dollars. Also, I've heard ADV is making a double pack of Mospeada and Southern Cross for about that much. It's quite a deal.
-
Except you're wrong Drifand. All of the GBP-1S sets came with the same parts as the ones bundled with a Valkyrie.

Roger hasn't done anything illegal. He talked to the owner of the images and went through the proper channels to try and get them released here. As for everything else, you guys are just easy to make fun of :3

Battle Frontiers head is almost identical to Battle 7's head. I don't see that the big deal is. -
How does a Variable Fighter move?

get out Within the confines of any kind of series, especially robot shows, there is often embellishment. Max putting on an enemy uniform is one of those things that was just there to be silly. Honestly though, how can punches be preprogrammed? Same way you program a welding robot to repeat the same task. You could probably tell it where to punch, but most Valkyries would punch in the same or similar ways. The human pilot is there to utilize the machine's skill sets in a proper way. Jetfire is not a helluva toy. It's almost 25 years old now. It is not a scale model, it's not based on any static schematics, and it is not meant to be taken as more than a toy based on the VF-1 design. Even the animated design is based on two or three hastily drawn quarter views. -
I think the real heart and soul of the movie was that one guy getting speared by a shovel.

So it has gattling guns, beam cannons, missiles, and roller wheels. It's trying to be all the Destroids! -
How does a Variable Fighter move?

There is some mention in DYRL of them being constructed of space materials and "hyper-carbon." Science fiction is generally full of many kinds of super materials. Valkyries also employ a kind of strengthening field called Energy Converting Armor for additional protection. It is true that Valkyries can survive a lot of punishments without any power. See Alto's VF-25 crashing on Galia 4. Let's forget about Robotech's stupidity. The controls are not entirely manual. Many of the mechanical profiles mention dedicated control systems for Battroid mode while the YF-19's profile even mentions a Super-AI control system. Through the use of pre-programmed macros, pilot input, and computer assistance it would be possible to abstract many complex movements into simply controls. We do this all this time in video games featuring robots. Granted, those robots exist in a controlled virtual environment, but imagine better computers with the ability to adapt to new situations based on previous data and simulations. Valkyries are generally deployed in a few set environments, all of which have been repeatedly tested in and out of combat by each generation of Valkyrie. By the time the VF-0 was completed, most environments it would be designed to operate in would have been already become a part of its total control system. Even today we have the basics of neural networks and "thinking computers." In the end what is all the Valkyrie itself sees other than data which is to be sorted, assessed, and used to make logical predictions? It is best not to use models and toys to approximate the actual design. They are limited by the materials available. The cockpits in modern Valkyries use many thin LCD style monitors and fly-by-light controls allowing them to cram all of the mechanisms into a small space. The armored shield seen on the VF-1 has been approximated in many toys and models. There actually is enough space for it behind the cockpit section, it is just poorly depicted in most media. You have to remember that most of the design sketches were done very quickly without the aid of computer aided design. Modern designs like the VF-0 and VF-25 are fully realized using CG models. Although sometimes clipping occurs, but it's generally not noticeable in the final product. -

Please don't feed his fantasies. The Slyphide is just a fighter. The Logan and the Auroran can transform, this we actually see in the show and it makes sense. Logan Auroran -

You know she could just be using some shoulder pads and a little tape around the breasts. Sorta like what cosplayers do. Putting on pants and comfortable shoes doesn't make you a shapeshifter. Maybe a lesbian, but not a shapeshifter haha. -
Yes it is possible. In fact, the VT-1 spends a good deal of DYRL without fast packs. The only thing that is hazy is whether or not the support arm for the radar dome on the VE-1 is detached for atmospheric flight or simply left to dangle in the back.

Old Brooklyn Reg Devil never makes sense. He lives in his own little world where everything is true just because he says so. I think it's funny how much he complains about Tommy Yune when he and Tommy are cut from the same cloth. I mean really, who is Yune except a fanfic writer who got his big break and now he gets to make more fan stuff and every has to deal with his poo. So it's really just one Southern Cross fanatic vs a Mospeada fanatic. And quite frankly, I'd rather let Southern Cross die (well, more than it has) that let vultures pick it apart. -

This is Pedro's favorite episode. Bomba! -
I think the Tlead's regular turtle like head is a key part of it's aesthetic. The new heads kinda ruin the little thing where the head sorta hides in the top of the bomber mode because now crap sticks out. Especially on the Green and Black one. Plus the little red eye ruins the turtle look. Plus this smacks of more YF-1R style bullshit and we can't have that.
-
The Dark Tlead's head isn't any different even given what little of it we see. Changing the heads to match their Legiosses seems inconsistent. The blue's head isn't a whole lot like the blue Legioss's head. The only thing they have in common is yellow eyes.

That's just a fan labeling an early VF-1 design as a prototype. You can see the thing in the Macross Design Works book.

That's only a doujin. That information is not entirely official. Also, the new chronology in the Macross Chronicles states that the VF-0's first flight was in 2004.
