Still, how many places can you buy anime these days? Best Buy cut their anime section down and other brick-and-mortar stores aren't filled with anything but pre-sold copies or just the big titles like Bleach, Naruto, and DBZ.

I think the upper body is a little longer or at least the overhang on the monoboob is a little thicker. I think that guy is saying the Macross 7 designs are a little bulkier than the VF-25, which makes it more suited to being shrunk down to a small toy. Although given Bandai's design prowess with small toys like the HCM Pro line (some of which transform). Even looking at their kit designs, the intricate MG V Gundam is roughly the size of a 1/100 VF-25. Then again, I don't know what Bandai was thinking. You think they saw Yamato's stillborn 1/100 VF-0? Remember the one they scrapped in favor of the 1/60? It had just as many (if not more) parts required for each mode.

Risa Ebata, you are a shining example for your gender. -
So those numbers mean Robotech does no better or worse in America than a low level mecha series. I understand they want to keep their share of the market, but the market wasn't never that vast to begin with. Didn't Macross Frontier sells far more units with its first volume? Not to mention the soundtrack CDs making the big charts in Japan.

Macross 7 isn't any better or worse than any other year spanning anime mecha series from the 90's. Even Evangelion is both shorter and chock full of still frames and stock footage.
-
This is the scene I was thinking of. Overall the early episodes of Macross 7 had their best mecha scene inside the colony ships since most of the stock footage was of space combat. I like the part where Gigil was tearing up the fleet with his prototype energy cannon. I especially liked the scene of him and two other Elgerzorene's flying just above the 3-Star's banner.
-
The 90's were more or less dominated by the very stylized art of Masami Obari who was an animator for Ashi Productions. I don't believe he worked on Macross 7, but a lot of animators at that studio seemed to adopt his style. Even the artists are Sunrise took up that style when animating the mid-90's Yuusha Series shows. There's some scenes in episode 26 (the one where Dick and Morry are introduced) that are sort of overdone in that distinct Obari style with the VF-17 being drawn with exaggerated proportions. The gunpod especially grew to being a longer weapon. Even in general the Valkyries and Elgerzorenes especially were drawn more like this Dragonar-1 toy which is stylized after the Obari animated opening. The same thing happened in the original Macross as well with the VF-1 being drawn very differently depending on the animator. Ichiro Itano and Hideaki Anno seemed to have their own ideas on how the VF-1 should look and move.

Except you couldn't talk about Macross 7 on this board without it breaking into a troll thread. There was some very strong group-think that was preventing people from discussing the longest running Macross series. It's like a Gundam BBS keeping people from discussing Zeta Gundam.

The platform is there to ensure the display piece stays are presentable as possible even if someone bumps the table accidentally. -
Gamlin Kizaki, captain of Battle 17 perhaps? Or maybe Battle 22. Battle Nightmare sounds like it would be in bad taste.
-
Don't count Gamlin out like that. He is a special forces pilot after all. Even with his youth and inexperience, he takes care of business in a very professional manner like when he went to rescue Millia (with Mylene in tow). Or when he led his team against Gigil. His biggest fault is his is really straight laced, which is why Mylene is a better match for hom than she is for Basara. then again i'm just moe for gamlin
-
Yeah Gamlin gave Mylene the Kimono. It was on their second of third date. He told her that wearing it would make other people feel better.

agentone is just trolling this is about macross love -
Dick and Morry stayed alive. Also Morry was voiced by Shin Kudo's actor Kenichi Suzumura. This was his debut.
-
Gamlin is the kind of guy who would take a big bite out of an apple. This episode is great because Gamlin starts out mopey but gets cheered up at the end. The part with the Merry-Go-Round is great.
-
Top Gamrin remastered also Takehito Koyasu is a pretty good voice actor. he even played Kenshiro once
-
I think it has a lot of cool action scenes actually.
