    Yeah but the Monster just shoots stuff. They had to make it a Valkyrie just to make it relevant again. In Plus it gets blown up and in 7 it destroyed the world trade center.

    Yeah but that bit in Macross the First is just pure fanservice. Putting a Destroid as the main mecha would mean it would be powered up to Gundam levels and be just like every other mecha show. Destroids have never been in the show for any other reason than to have more mecha to merchandise. And then later on it was just for tradition.

    Presumably the prototype in the hangar that was in partial Gerwalk mode would be a VF-X-1. The VF-X has no obvious backpack hinge. Instead it has three vents over that area (which are just tampo'd on the Yamato toy) and the arms are replaced with this more aerodynamic cover. Also it has no head. see here

    The Yamato Chirico is a little undersized so he can fit in the cockpit with all his bulky clothes on.

    Not that I don't appreciate every new poster feeling the need to give their life story and also make the claim that most people would never have heard of Macross without Robotech, I feel that your criticism of Macross and its sequels (of which there has been plenty of on this forum) is better suited for the main Macross sub forums. But please continue to call our arguments mindless. It's not like people here have ever made reasoned arguments about anything. Really this thread and its nth incarnations is for venting frustration and making fun of Brooklyn Reg Leg. ps macross 7 is teh awesome
