Legend of the Galactic Heroes
Retracting Head Ter Ter replied to JELEINEN's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Not really. The name at the bottom of the screen for the first few times we see a character was a enough to get me to remember them later when they didn't show it. 421230 Man, how did I not post in this thread The names at the bottom are key... also alot of the main characters reappear alot. For your sake the main ones on the Empire's side are (These aren't really spoilers) Reinhard Von Lohengramm(musel) Siegfried Kircheis Oskar Von Reuenthal Wolfgang Mittermeyer Joachim Von Merkatz Paul Von Oberstein Neidhard Muller 421246 That bunch I can remember easy. Heck, after about 30 episodes I can spell em in my sleep. Its the 1001 other minor characters which confuses me. Everytime some guy pops up, I am never too sure if he had appeared 15 episodes earlier for 13 seconds or not.- 216 replies

Legend of the Galactic Heroes

Anyone else have problems remembering which German name is what? I almost always have to rack my brain to remember if the guy on screen with the long name has appeared before 16 episodes back and what did he do. Not just the fact that they have long names, but that there is a whole legion of minor characters.- 216 replies

Eh? WTF?!? I see signboards and signposts but they aren't in Japanese. And AAA? In Jin-Roh?

Somehow it looks so much better as a painting on the Hasegawa box. This one looks like a bootleg colouring.

Looks excellent. Cant wait to see Shredder and the Rat guy. Makes me recall my old palaadium TMNT roleplaying game from years back.

Gundam! Ok ok. I would like a Gatchaman God Phoenix (esp the 2nd ver) from them. Of course the best thing is that they get round to making a Glaug and Destroids from Macross. 1/60 please. -

Phantom would be quite a suitable name for the F-22 since its supposed to be a Phantom on the other guy's radar screen. -

Renault bought 33% of Nissan. Its not quite a majority stake but gives them a lot of say. -

I know its unthinkable right now and especially since Muscle Cars are made in these US companies who aren't really into performance diesels. But.. Looking at the current crop of performance diesels from BMW and VAG and Merc, what would you guys think of stuffing a big forced induction diesel lump into these muscle cars? With a 6 litre turbo diesel, you'll be easily looking at 550+ bhp and 1000+ lbft of torque in _stock_ trim. And it'll still give resonable MPG. -

http://www.ronpatrickstuff.com/ I posted this link in the aircraft thread due to a brain fart. Kept thinking about the turbine and forgot it had a steering wheel. -

They need a 1/1 Macross Display Stand! To flip the bird on its side/back for easier access. BTW, check out this link below. Someone prove to me that its fake or a joke? How the heck can it be 'street legal'? http://www.ronpatrickstuff.com/ -

Rear visibilty on that thing looks non-existant. Graham 411700 Very 'VF-1' like don't you think? -

"Download Hi-Res" read numbers. *smack forehead*. Thanks. Always wanted to compare supercarrier sizes across the classes. But the perspective might distort the relative size. Is it a camera effect or is there another reason why the carrier on the port side of the formation has much darker decks? Under a cloud? -

Fins! Thats what they are. Not wings but fins. Like in rockets and missiles. -

When I first saw pics of an F-104 (think I was a kid looking at a Hasegawa Catalog), I couldn't figure out how the thing could fly. The wing area looked impossibly small. I mean, it looked like it could fly but only with a stall speed of like 400 kts or something. -

If the stats posted are correct, 340 is very tame (heck, almost factory stock) by RB26 standards. For that kinda output, might as well have left the original engine in with a bit of tuning. Its different, but not in a way I find appealing. Rather see something like a Viper's V10 in a 180SX. -
Kaiyodo Revoltech Figures
Retracting Head Ter Ter replied to wolfx's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Hey, that center pic of Revy? (never watched black lagoon) seems to be cured of the 'big nut' limitation. Cause she is a chick? Hope they can do a similar Miria figure. That would kick a$$. Might even fit into the 1/60 Q-Rau. -
I just bought the damn thing (1/18), couldn't resist. I love it. When I lifted it out of the box the first time it felt more like a completed and pre-painted model kit. Its pretty light. And the plastic used is very model kit like (e.g. the opening panels and stuff are pretty thin like in model kits, not the thick chunky Bandai 1/60 MSIA DX Sazabi type). The cockpit is nice. Working rudder pedals and tilting control column, mock hydraulic lifters. The 3 scopes can rotate, I can't stop playing with it for now. The joints are tight and ratchet well. Oddly the hip joint is much looser then the rest of the joints. But its enough to hold the poses. Honourable mention should go to the ability of the hip joint to 'Yaw'. That is, besides the swinging forward and sideways commonly seen, the hide can 'Yaw' sideways, giving it a semblance of 3D movement. Love the detailing and movement of the feet too. Its got deployable spikes on the foot but I don't see how one can deploy it for display unless you put the toy on soil. The head dome falls off rather easily. But a bit of Blu-Tack on the inside will fix it. Paint job is nice. Again it feels more model kit like. I think none of the parts were cast in colour. The whole thing is painted. Only nitpick is that the 'chrome/silver' wear is done with random brushes of silver paint over the main colour rather then using the silver as a base coat. Wish it came with more weapons though. Where is my missile rack ?!? Gatling gun?!? Hyper Cannon?!? Grenade Launcher?!? If you see it for 90 bucks or less, I say go for it. I'd definitely buy the Fatty or Red Shoulder Custom if they release it.
