  2. Regarding Evangelion, if nuclear bombs can't do damage, then why do they use giant sniper rifles or giant miniguns, if it won't do damage after all. Or am i wrong???
  3. I was wondering how popular Macross was back in 84. Would it be like what Haruhi became by 2007?
  4. They should remake the tv series animation, update all the designs (VF-1 included), ban the tv series cockpit from canon. The only problem is that they would insert some "moe" at the characters. And the opening song would be exanged for some generic j-pop rock song. Just like in gundam zeta movie. And pray for not extending the episode numbers to 50. The only problem with the original TV series is the animation quality of some episodes, while ep. 27 had great well done scenes, most of the animation after ep. 27 is a really let down. Maybe the animation team was celebrating "oh yeah last ep. gonna give my best this week", then later after recieving the news: "oh no more episodes to do, uh... did Misa with 3 hands, whatever..."
  5. Saw a piece of Episode 11, i ask why they released 2 cds with Mylene voice actress, both sucks. Chie Kajiura singing "Watashi no Karewa Pairoto" is so much better. Too bad they didn't release it!!! Did anyone had the trouble to extract the music?? don't know how are the newer DVDs, if they are 5.1 maybe there is a chance to extract the music while removing Basara lines.
  6. If you compare with modern warfare now it is sh*t. But back then when people were still playing quake 1 it was very good.

  8. I didn't like much gunbuster overall. (PLEASE, JUST MY OPINION:) 1 ep: boring 2 ep: boring 3 ep: boring 4 ep: the gunbuster launch = good 5 ep: gattai/inazuma kick = v. good 6 ep: ending =great! Besides those 3 scenes the rest isn't that great at all. Actually i skiped ep. 2, 3, 4 and watched 5 already, then i liked it and had to watch the rest, for the sake of understanting the story. Actually i just watched because it had Mikimoto and Miyatake in the middle.
  9. It takes days for fans to come up with a logic, it takes a coin flip to Kawamori mess with all of it.
  10. I guess the easiest way for you then is to separate the mesh by colour. Try this way should be fast and will give a reasonable result: -After you finished the model, separate all the mesh that has a diferent colour. will make your job easier later -Use the automatic tools, that auto generate the UV maps for you, it is important that none of the parts overlap at the UV map. (usually i do this way i choose to combine all the parts into a single mesh then use the autoUVtool, this way no part will overlap, but be aware that when separating all the pieces if their ends coincide and are open the program won't recognize it as separated anymore) -Now you have to bake an occlusion map, at lightning i guess... (don't have maya here to check, 2 capacitor from my VGA blew and it died, and they were solid state... now using a notebook) -Open the occlusion map at photoshop or any other editing program, use a little of gaussian blur to remove edges. -Create a new layer, use the bucket to paint with the base colour of the model, then ask to multiply at the layer options. (don`t close it yet) -Now at maya, ask to separate the mesh, then open the UV editor, select all the pieces you want to paint different from the base colour, ask it to export the UV map to a jpg file. (don't use any file format with transparency channel, also export it at the same size as te occlusion map from before). -now at photoshop at the same file, import the UV map from the above step. Use the wand to select at any empty space, use invert selection (ctrl+shift+i i guess), select the base colour layer and press delete. Create a new layer with the secondary colour, reselect with the wand at the UV map, press delete. All the coloured layers are always multiplying the baked occlusion map. Now with some tweaks shouldn't look so bad. The bad part of this process is the mess is that the UV map won't be organized at all. But it is way faster, so it is good if you want to do a quick textured model that won't look bad. Did my VF-25 mostly this way since i was always changing the model and couldn't waste time doing an UV map that would have to be redone every time. Started to do this way at the VF-11, because doing the UVs all nice and organized is @*$@#@. Try once and post here the results. BTW: nice videos you posted!

  14. Nothing really big, found some time and did some details at the zent-suit model. (The hand is just a generic one) I guess should have asked if anyone did them before me... Still have to figure out how the shoulder cannon is attached.
  15. I guess this movie that they go back in time to pick a whale was the only one i wasn't bored when watching. I remember seeing at TV other trek movies but didn't like any of them. Long time ago...

  18. In his deepest thoughts he wants HG to enslave Mikimoto, Kawamori and Miyatake, so they would produce Robotech ("true and original" only for RT fanboys) sequels about Rick, Minmay and Lisa for the rest of the eternity.

  20. I bought a NDS, played just a few games, then i saw Macross being released to PSP. That made me sad, for real... The touchscreen can be useful in adventure games.
  21. I could try to do some 2d characters, but i'm not that good. It's been a while since i went to the Macross Aria project page.
