  1. Yeah, just a little under the price of any valk I've bought in the past year and well worth it. Sure the trailer mode is a big brick (it reminds of the trailers that carry F-1 racers), but I think the beefy UM look makes up for it. Finally found Mindwipe out here. I'm impressed with the lack of kibble-real sleek. I haven't really tinkered around with it, but I'm liking what I see. HA Barricade is still MIA.
  2. Yep, that and their Springer would look great next to UM. I'm hoping that they would also do their take on Arcee, but until then I have this to look forward to: .
  3. So is Capcom running out of ideas when they decided a that uses a tub of lube (LUBE!) would make a great new character? Who knows, but I think he's awesome.
  4. For anyone else curious enough to buy these bulky-lees, KOTOYS now offers them for sale.
  5. That's disappointing. I was hoping for an off-shoot of TFA or maybe something that had to do with the upcoming game. Boo! I had some time to "reprolabel" my Classics Hot Rod, and the results were pleasing. I always thought the stock flames were quite paltry so the new stickers are a welcome sight. The Autobot emblem has a gold foil border and fills in the blank hood nicely. Included were markings that added yellow highlights to the spoiler, but I didn't add them-it seemed too much. However, I did add a few of markings that are reminiscent of the G1 toy in bot mode. Anyways, its a great sticker set and now I'm considering if I should more of their Classics sets.
  6. I had to order that exclusive Valken too, as it and the green version are the only toys made of that mech AFAIK. The Robot/Shooting Historica lineup is the only gashapon I got into-love the M.U.S.H.A. toy. Maybe I'll plunk down the cash when I see more pics and reviews of the actual release, but the Vasteel does look awesome in those pics. The Valken suit toy is the same as Cybernator's mech. The mech from Genesis' Target Earth is the assault suit Leynos. If the Shooting Historica line can make a toy of something like the obscure Grandia tank, there's a good chance the more recognizable Sidearms dude might be made into a toy.
  7. That's one heck of a makeover Prime is getting up there. Picked up Skystalker and Scattorshot at Target today. While Scattorshot isn't bad of a toy, I must say that Skystalker made me a fan of Scouts. From the nice matte finish to the way his hooks fit into the wings, it's hard for me to find something to gripe about with him. I just might buy another one so Mindwipe can have duo of cronies.
  8. It seems to be ok now.
  9. I've been wanting a toy/model of this ship for years now, but the price is hard to swallow.
  10. Lucky! I never did find another Arcee after my first vist to the local TRU. Though the wall of Madflaps seems to be growing... So it looks like Mindwipe can combine with Skystalker in bot mode too: GATTAI!!
  11. There's nothing to laugh at, I think we're all in the same boat. If anything, I'm a little jealous!
  12. Wow, nostalgia is the word of the day in this thread! I never get tired of these tracks as they rotate in my playlists: - Perhaps the most positive sounding track in the BGC series. -One of the few good things Bubblegum Crash had to offer. Pure Stone - From Zillion, one of the greats-the games weren't too shabby either. - Zillion had a nice ending theme too! - From the Dirty Pair, the original damsels of destruction.
  13. This is why Peg will always be in an eternal battle with Bludgeon on my shelves.
  14. Kinda weird how it wasn't in the OST album, eh? Here's a few more: This sashimi's great! It's WHAT...?!-Beads of Tears Poor Yugo...-Cyborg Mermaid -Say Yes! Just a tire for hire-Roadbuster
  15. Alternity Prime and Megs are quite incredible toys themselves-articulate little pieces of kick-ass with integrated weapons. Here's to hoping that the line will include something like the new Challenger someday!
  16. Then you're in for definite treat this year! I never liked the mini-con concept or a lot of the Energon/Armada designs which the new power-core stuff reminds me of, so no-go for me. I was looking foward to the new sets of Combaticons and Aerialbots until I saw what he individual limbs look like. Borderline super-deformed vehicles with no bot modes? Seems like a step backward to me, but if the kids like 'em they can have them. HA Jazz? Nah, but I would opt for a hefty HA Ironhide though. The WFC toy designs don't interest me in the least, but the game looks promising. Only a few new designs struck my fancy, namely Hailstorm and Darkmount. As for Peg, my TF collection is sorely lacking in the rice rocket department so he will fill that niche quite nicely with that big ol' kanji character emblazoned on his side. Adding the fact that I'm a sucker for robots with melee weapons make Drift a welcome sight. So in the end most of the new stuff just isn't my cup of tea. I need to thin out my collection anyways...
  17. Heh, good editing in that vid. It reminded me of the best opening in KOR (Also a great song): Orange Mystery As for one of my faves from KOR: Summer Mirage, Summer Mirage (Wada Kanako live) While I'm at it, have some Maaya Sakamoto : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnv7cEA9hYM
  18. Well, if you squint REEEAL hard you might see a G1 seeker in that mess... On to local sightings, I snagged movie Lockdown and Brawn at the Target (Lockdown's dope!), but still no HA Barricade.
  19. Takara did a good job in replicating the car, but the Orochi itself just looks goofy. That smiling grille and the simulated serpent eyes don't help either. I would be a lot more enthusiastic about Alternity if Takara didn't limit the alt modes to new Japanese models.
  20. Pics of the new Alternity figs: SKYWARP STARSCREAM
  21. There's some good stuff in that list. Hirasawa is one of the few Asian male vocalists I like. As for the retro vibe, I gotta throw in the numerous soundtracks from Kimagure Orange Road. KOR has plenty of good tracks that contain that 80's vibe thanks to Wada Kanako.
  22. Yeah, I'm not looking forward to most of the toys too, especially the combiner stuff. However, I'm glad the Classics line is still going in some form. Drift actually looks cool and it's good to see a domestic release of Thrust. The biggest highlight for me is a domestic release of MP Grimlock-nee ha!
  23. Is the plastic taking the paint well? I was thinking of giving her a make-over too. As much as I like TFA Arcee, I still wait for a decent G1-esque version to complement the rest of the 3rd season crew.
  24. I haven't seen the anime yet, but one can automatically do all sorts of maneuvers to get behind an enemy at the press of a button. There's a meter that fills up once you stay within the direct vicinity of an enemy. Once the meter reaches a certain level, all you have to do is hit a button and then an auto pilot will kick in that will do anything to get your plane behind the enemy for an easy kill. Fun, but it felt a little chintzy. One time I tried not to use that feature when I repeated a mission-I ended up getting a lower rating. As for doing a cobra manually, I'll have to try it next time I'm around the Wii. But anyone craving some new Ace Combat action should give this game a shot.
  25. It's too bad the Reverb repaint never made it to the toy aisles. It had the best colors for that chopper mold and would've looked great as a Bruticus limb. I snagged Shout's G1 season two, vol.2 dvd collection at Wallyworld today for $20-nee ha!
