Bubblegum Crisis Toys
Valkyrie Hunter D replied to the_foul_fowl's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
For the anime, probably. But who knows, if Robocop can get a Figma... Is the live action BGC movie still in the works? If so, maybe some more figures can be expected.- 881 replies

Blow me down, I actually found a Warpath and a Scourge-at retail! I pretty much gave up on finding these guys, but they were the last ones of their kind at a Target I just happened to shop in while doing errands. Maybe I'll try my luck with a Marshall's in hopes of finding the G1 legends.

I remember seeing a colored sample of something very similar to that a long time ago - very blocky. I can't recall what TF site it was on, but last I heard, the designers want to eventually make a larger production run for it.

Yup, and people are also going straight to customer service to return it once they snag the targetmaster for the Takara version they already own. Ironhide and Ratchet look fantastic. I'm just surprised that it looks like an original sculpt...from iGear!

Talk about niche, it looks an nice piece though. +1 on Madox-that mech needs some serious toy representation!

In Arnie's defense, ever taken a good look at Maria Shriver? -
DOTM toys everywhere. Nothing Classics/Generations related in sight. I picked up Powerglide and Skyhammer; and with that I'm done with the DOTM line. Although I am curious to see how Mirage will turn out.

After all this time, it still uses different pieces for the the truck grill and bot mode's "abs". And so far, I see nothing that makes me want to spend $250 on it.

I'm all in for a Shinden TF, but the combined form still doesn't entice me. And the way that Mustang transforms reminds me of that A6M Zero Go-Bot. The Devastator the same guys are making looks astounding; it's coming together real nicely. I only question its stability as those are some large chunks of plastic hanging from the joints.

I never thought I'd have to consider paying almost $300 for a TF.

Thanks for the kind words gents, I was pleased with the way Jazz turned out as well. Right now the new target of my OCD is turning Heavytread into Brawl as the left lower leg of Fanproject's Bruticus. A couple of people at TFW2005 have done it and I really liked the way it looked. I just don't like how Brawl isn't a main battle tank, and the sculpt for that tank limb is just lame in bot mode. Problem is that I only have one Heavytread, and if I mess up, he's not exactly easy to find. No Wheeljack or Thundercracker over here. It looks like the regular spots are getting ready for DOTM toys.

Just wanted to show the spoiler mod I've finished for Jazz. Through the use of earth magnets and styrene, he's now a parts-former. Modeled after some photos of the Porsche 935 racer, I also added some minor details like markings for rear windows. It was a messy affair, but things turned for the better I think: I thought about doing something about the headlights like filling it in and doing some etching, but it would be too much. Now I'm just trying to think of a way to make his chest assembly to be a lot less floppy in bot mode.

Bludgeon's been Drift's sparring partner on my shelf for a long time now, and while Bludgeon may have been part of the ROTF line, I thought he looked good hanging out with the Classics TFs. Articulation is pretty good with him; I especially like how he can grasp the sword with both hands. And I think I may be one of the few who prefer his colors as opposed to Banzaitron's. Shapeways also has some alternate head kits for him, but I don't have any problems with the default head. My only complaint with Bludgeon is that his gray plastic weapons aren't as rigid as I'd like. There's something sad about a tank with a limp machine gun.

Yup, definitely sucks. No Windcharger and possibly the G1 Legends. I'm hoping at least the wave with Warpath will still hit the stores.

Jeebus, and I thought the Stampede Valkyrie was outrageous: Takara's Jetwing Prime. It uses Buster Prime as a base. This thing will be ginormous.

Just my luck; days before Moon Diver is released, I get the YLOD. Argh.

M.A.S.K. - Show and Toy collections
Valkyrie Hunter D replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I loved playing with my friend's Rhino. The ejection seat feature was always central to my playtime. As for S. Aramaki working on the show, here's an excerpt from an interview found here: Actually, M.A.S.K. is one of those times I snuck out of Artmic and worked for another studio during the day. (laughs) In fact, I even left the country! I told the president of Artmic I was going on break, and went to Chicago to discuss the designs of the toys and get prototypes approved. When I came back to Japan two weeks later, all he said was, "Man, you sure took a long vacation! Where were you?" And I'm definitely picking up the DVD set.- 317 replies

I get the same feeling when I tinker with Hound and Mirage as well. And it's pretty cool how my 10 yr. old nephew loves Henkei Hound. The TF shelves are barren over here. Even the peg warmers are gone. I have a sinking feeling that it's gonna get harder for me to find RTS Windcharger.
-
An A for effort, but that's about it. It's pretty bad-bot mode looks like a cosplayer.

Well, I'll trade you a Mindwipe for a Skullgrin. I've only seen Perceptor and and Wreck-Gar once, and those were the ones I picked up. Everything else is Mindwipe, Ravages, and a smattering of Cliffjumper. My only worry is that once RTS dies down and gets replaced with DOTM toys, the last couple of figures I really want (Warpath, Windcharger) might get lost in the shuffle and I'd have to rely on the secondary market. After seeing a lineup comparing the Kup releases, I'm beginning to think that the e-Hobby exclusive is the best looking one (once the battle damage is given an alcohol rub, that is). I'm really tempted now to plunk down the cash to get the 3-pack he comes in, and get a generic Junkion to boot.
