  1. FIRE IT UP! FIRE IT UP! I really want one, but I'm kinda dubious of the durability of that leathery material.
  2. I have always had a deep distaste over that Robocop game ever since my childhood 7-11 store replaced the SHINOBI machine with it. SHINOBI was soo much better... I only saw this game twice during my youth in all the arcades I've ever been to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_LY94PmqmA I remember thinking it was the bestest game ever. Now that I got it to finally work on MAME, it almost brings a nostalgic tear to my eye when I boot it up.
  3. Not too shabby, I'm really liking the helmet. Is this a voyager or leader class size?
  4. Nice, it's official!
  5. Yup, the 770. I haven't run any games on it yet, but I am setting my sights on Titanfall to be the first one. And it was reassuring to find out that demos for Titanfall were using the 770 card. I'm also waiting for GTA V (It'll happen!). For now I'm just getting all my emulators up and running from my old computer. How does it measure up? I really don't know, I mean I haven't really ran anything that can showcase its specs. Numbers-wise, it's got a i7-4800MQ @ 2.7GHz, 16GB RAM, and the GTX 770M card. So yeah, I haven't really seen anything from this thing that blows me away, however, it is SOOO good to finally play Asura Blade in such a smooth and silky fashion on MAME.
  6. I thought I was done with valks after getting a 1/48 Strike Hikaru VF-1S, but then the ver. 2 1/60s came out, then the 1/60 Mac Plus valks showed up, and more recently the VF-4G. Mac Frontier valks never got my love, so after getting the VF-4G, I would been perfectly happy with not getting anymore valks...then the new YF-19 was announced. It's a downward spiral, but it's a great ride.
  7. I reckon the warranty is still good, I haven't altered anything, I just opened up some covers and re-seated a memory module. I'll have to read the fine print to make sure.
  8. My Sager arrived last night. Imagine my disappointment when I saw a blue screen of death greeting me as my brand new computer's first output message. Further horror ensued as it kept restarting itself with every attempt to at least make it to the desktop. Before calling the company and berating the first QA rep that I made contact with, and after an hour of deciding whether I should just toss the sucker off my balcony, I took it apart to see if anything was amiss. Lo and behold, a memory module has been dislodged during shipping. Once the module was properly seated, the laptop worked as it should and everything was right with the world. Now the wait begins for Titanfall...
  9. I can only wonder if Arcadia will foray into more glorious 1/24 Patlabor goodness. I would love a 1/24 AV-X0.
  10. Weird, it was the complete opposite for me, I gave up my pre-order for this to get the YF-19! It has been just a perfect storm of expenses recently and I had to give up some things. The Ghost does look nice though, it reminds me a lot of the Gespent from SRW.
  11. It seems like Arcadia is just carrying out previous Yamato plans. It was already rumored that a VF-0D was in the works before Yamato closed doors. Maybe the VF-0D was close to completion and Arcadia is simply taking the ball and running with it.
  12. The big toys A7 brought up were not from the Arch Enemy line; they were almost a foot tall. The Arch Enemy line toys were approximately 7 inches tall, but I'm not if they were US exclusive.
  13. IIRC, "transforming" was the buzz word Bandai used on the packaging for that thing.
  14. I still have those around here somewhere. Sturdy bastards, huge too. The Sazabi is my fave though; you can totally man handle it unlike the MG. I miss the days when Gundam can be found at the local TRU.
  15. Many thanks for the heads up, dwc, but I ended up ordering a Sager NP8275 last night. I'm happy with the specs, and I'm pretty sure it'll handle anything I throw at it. Can't wait to mess with it!
  16. Yeah, it's absolutely ridiculous considering the average valk is only 10 inches long. Back on topic: hells yes I'm down for a delta winged valk, assuming it IS a VF-0D. Everybody wants the D!
  17. Thanks for the tip. I did some quick number crunching, but even with the full 35% discount, a Sager or a MSI laptop still came out ahead in terms of price and in some cases, performance.
  18. Yep, I'm seeing that now. Unfortunately, I can't take a risk by waiting for a killer deal like what you got, but with my budget, I'm liking my choices. A couple of colleagues have shared their horror stories with Dell so I'm kinda dubious about dealing with Dell. So far I've narrowed down some choices with MSI and Sager.
  19. Nah, no Macs for me. I've always felt I could find a far cheaper machine compared to any equally spec'ed Mac these days. Though I still have fond memories of my Mac Classic and its bigass dot matrix printer that would shake the walls of my dorm room everytime I printed something. Thanks again, and I'll be sure to check out that site, Smiley.
  20. So you were looking for PILOTED mecha as main characters, got it. There was also Namco's Finest Hour, quite a rare find at the arcades. That beat-em-up is still the best Alien based game, IMO.
  21. Many thanks for your input gents! It never even crossed my mind to check what Toshiba has to offer myk, and I was real close to pulling the trigger on that ASUS before your complaint, DWC. Good run? Most definitely! This thing has been through a lot and has saved me several times on the road. As far as what I'm looking for, I want a big screen multimedia machine that would cope well with new gaming requirements, and I don't mind how heavy it gets. Features like 3D and a touch screen are not important, and I reckon a good gaming laptop can handle any office tasks I throw at it. Reading a few review articles led me to the ASUS, but thanks to you guys, I have more options to consider. I'm expecting a new laptop to last at least 5 years, and I'm willing to spend less than $1500.
  22. My guess would be the arcade version of this: Gotta love 2600 box art!
