  1. Meh, just give the Hasbro version a good alcohol rub to remove the dumb "Sonic Boom" markings and it'll be just as good as this new one.
  2. "This ship is equipped with a forward-mounted, twenty-millimeter electric cannon. Its six barrels are capable of firing four thousand rounds of ammunition per minute. And that, gentlemen, is one hell of a sh!t-storm in anybody's language!" This movie was so awesome, and still is IMO. I was going through my old files when I found a forgotten treasure of sorts. I can't remember the website I found this on, but IIRC, the son of the man who supplied the original Gazelle helicopters for the movie uploaded a huge set of photos that his dad had taken on the set. These include the best reference pics I've found of Blue Thunder itself and also stills of the movie's helicopter dogfight in the streets of L.A. I thought the album is too cool to not share: Blue Thunder Flickr Album. And check this out, I know there are many out there but this is arguably the best scale RC model I've seen of the beast itself:
  3. Carl Macek would've begged to differ.
  4. AFAIK, the patlamp parts were the only add-ons released for the MG Ingram kits. A while back I wanted to search for super detailed 1/6 scale revolvers and shotguns that could replace the weapons found in the kits, but I never got around to it.
  5. I love how the Garland is getting much love, but some bad guy mechs would be sweet too. Like BD's suit from MZ 23 Pt II.
  6. Out of all the 3rd party news that hit these past two weeks, Planet X's WFC Grimlock got my utmost attention. I really liked Hasbro's version, but this one a must buy for me.
  7. We can only hope. But most likely not. At 1/24 scale, Arcadia's Garland will be in scale with Yamato's Patlabor Ingrams and with countless die cast collectible cars.
  8. Nope, nothing like that. Apparently he was just lending a helping hand to a guy who needed it. I just watched part of this again now that the subtitles have been finished. I cringed and laughed. Mostly cringed.
  9. Those hip panels don't look like they're gonna slide anywhere, contrary to the rumors and his torso looks too long compared to his legs. Regardless, this Ironhide looks tremendously better than all the 3rd party stuff.
  10. A screenshot at 1:23 pretty much made my day
  11. I'm going to miss the 1/15 scale of the old Garlands, but with T-REX involved, this should be a much better toy.
  12. Found a Bryan Ferry cassette not too long ago. I had to reach real deep in the memory banks for these: Still love the second song.
  13. Yes, Tengaman. Because justice only needs one hand. I frickin' love Japan.
  14. I wonder if there's any truth to the rumor about the hip kibble being able to slide around to the rear.
  15. My gut says Deluxe figures might be too big for your Metroplex. Have you looked into getting World Smallest Transformers? WSTs are not too hard to find and KO's of them are cheap. KO's of the mini G1 combiners are easy to find too. I finally opened my Generations Jetfire. First thing I did was cut trim off the goofy rear stabilzers, those things looked real dumb imo. Alt mode makes a real jaunty looking jet, and I liked the aggressive profile the fast packs give. I don't like the rear landing gear; leader class needs more than just casters on his shins. I like bot made as well, despite the hollow spaces a lot of fans have pointed out. It's just the lack of wrist articulation that hurts the most. I could forgive that with Generations Roadbuster with it being a voyager but with a leader class Jetfire? Another gripe I have is with the ankles: instead of permanently having slanted ankles, how about just giving full ankle rockers? The production cost-cutting is quite prevalent with Jetfire, but I still don't regret getting one.
  16. This looks like a fun project. I don't know how much room you have to work with, but have you looked at R/C accessories like these: 1/144 scale RC products. Short of dismantling a BPX-01 or GX-64, they might have something you could use.
  17. That's rough. I actually thought his health was getting better. Thanks for the memories, Mr. Iwata.
  18. So Blaster is a...battle station now? Titan sized no less. Weird.
  19. Those Citizen Set figures are MEGA tiny, like 1cm tiny. I know I'd probably lose them. And yes, the mini Devy figure goes with the set. It would've been nice if they were included with Utopia itself.
  20. I think the only thing Warbotron's Bruticus has going for it is its size. Frankly, it looks like an over detailed mess with all the engraved bits and pieces. If they had only toned that down a bit I would buy him. The only individual limb I like is Heavy Noisy with its decent looking tank alt mode. As for Utopia, it was hard at first to swallow the price, but that went all out the window once I started messing with him. Utopia's very sturdy-I'm not afraid of manhandling him and breaking something. I always wanted a better Metroplex so he's tops in my book.
  21. Face sculpts are expressionless and dull, so easy pass for me.
  22. Lovely, thanks for that. Considering Sunstreaker's character and G1 likeness, I think chrome is a necessity for a MP of Sideswipe's narcissistic bro.
