HELP: Patlabor Color Scheme Suggestion
Valkyrie Hunter D replied to dyowelb's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Because Patlabor isn't Gundam. Unless there's some new Patlabor show in the works, don't expect any kits from Bandai anytime soon. I'm still waiting for the day Bandai gives Patlabor the Perfect Grade treatment. How about military green with a dark grey trim? -
Woo-hoo finally some big news on the Toys section-thanks for the heads-up G! I guess its time to get another 1/48 VF-1J...

best mecha titles for ps2
Valkyrie Hunter D replied to Feyd-Rautha's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Of the three ZOE games, ZOE: Fist of Mars was a strategy based RPG for the Gameboy Advance. One of the few games that made me want to buy a GBA. -

best mecha titles for ps2
Valkyrie Hunter D replied to Feyd-Rautha's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Yup, Front Mission 4 is tops in my book. While the plot may be a lot more simplistic than FM3's, the mecha designs and overall gameplay is excellent. For a much faster paced game, try out the previously mentioned ZOE games and Gungriffon Blaze. GB plays more like an FPS and plays a lot faster than any of the Armored Core games (should be fairly easy to find and cheap too). There's also Virtual-On Marz, but its just not that good compared to the previous games. -
Best looking mecha/robot head

My pick's a toss up between Patlabor's AV-98 Ingram and the Griffon. Great looking melons on these mechs. -
Wow! Misa who? Fantastic job!

Shin Seiki Gokin: 1/48 Airwolf by Aoshima
Valkyrie Hunter D replied to Valkyrie Hunter D's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Blue Thunder was a great movie. The TV series blew chunks though. And with Aoshima going to the 80's for material, it wouldn't surprise me if they did make a Blue Thunder toy. Aoshima's Airwolf makes me glad I don't have to hunt this thing down anymore: Old Airwolf toy Nice avatar there, Stormrider! -
Diecast Aircraft Collectors

My friend would just go bonkers over your collection there, DH. He's really into Gemini Jets, and I'm still trying to help him find some special 747 in Virgin's colors. -
Video Games that never get old
Valkyrie Hunter D replied to Agent ONE's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I still keep coming back to arcade games like Samurai Showdown 4, Capcom's Aliens vs Predator, Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo, and DoDonPachi. At home, just let me sit with my Dreamcast, a pair of Twinsticks, and I could play Virtual On all day. But I think I'll still be playing Pac Man when I'm old and gray. -

Nah, I have little time as it is to catch up with MW. I got the same Armour F-14. With something that big you think Armour would at least have built some swing wings. But it sure makes for one gorgeous paperweight. -

I'm not much of a Gundam fan, but the flexibility of that PG Strike looks sweet! -

<raises hand> There are plenty more out here. On the top of my wish list right now is a Dragon A-10. -
Just go with whatever looks good for you. Personally I'd pick white for Millia and yellow leg markings for Max. Besides, I'm not sure there's a official color for their markings, I've seen different colors for them on many pics. BTW, do yourself a favor and snag a set of takatoy's stickers, they really make a difference.

Shin Seiki Gokin: 1/48 Airwolf by Aoshima
Valkyrie Hunter D replied to Valkyrie Hunter D's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Yup, I do remember them tilting to some degree, and at times it seemed like those missiles were drawn by hand. From HLJ's pic, it looks like a real nice piece. And seeing how its gonna cost around $80, there's now way I can turn this down. It was a surprise the first time I heard what a real Bell 222 sounds like. Real loud, almost like a Huey. No cool howling noise, just a low thudding noise. -
They shouldn't be brown, that's for sure I still don't know if Minmay's eyes are blue or green. But then again, "Chinese girls don't come with green eyes."
-
Teardrop? Nah, the decal was still a little moist when the pic was taken. And the eyes are really brown, BTW. If HLJ stocks up on green eye decals again, I'll snag a set and do another job on Minmay. It's pretty cool how Wave tries to mimic many different artists' eyes. There's a pair that looks very Shirow-esque, and even a pair that looks exactly like Yurika's from Nadesico. I figured applying that set would make Minmay look way too perky.
-
I'm pretty sure I got the eye color wrong, but I'm really pleased with the way the decals look. Now I gotta track down a Misa figure and see what it'll look like with these new sets of brown eyes. Last one:

Now Wave makes some killer looking anime eye decals, and I decided to give them a shot. After scraping and cleaning off my work, I slid on a pair of Wave’s eyes:

Hello all. I wanted to show off the results of a quick alteration to ARII’s 1/6 Minmay figure. The eyes that ARII chose were real bad, so bad that sometime last year, I tried to repaint them. While I was satisfied with the results, it could’ve been better:

Shin Seiki Gokin: 1/48 Airwolf by Aoshima
Valkyrie Hunter D replied to Valkyrie Hunter D's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
All we need now is a Street Hawk toy to complete the holy trinity of 80's supervehicle cheeziness I'm not sure if Aoshima is going to put in retractable missile pods and guns, but at 1/48 scale I'd think they'd be able to. My guess is that there are going to be switchable parts to replicate the weapons being stowed away.
